Great Machine! Great Value
This was my first sewing machine and I love it. It is easy to operate and very user-friendly. I have created blankets, pillows, pillow cases, reusable gift bags, etc. I have not been disappointed. I can stitch through heavy material with ease. This is a great machine at a great value. I have attached photos of two items I have created with this machine.

Broke in 2 weeks. Don't blame the brand
It broke less than two weeks after buying. I used it twice and it broke when I wasn't even touching the machine. I even took it to a certified brother's sewing machine repair shop. They just told me to return it and get a new/different one so I did. Giving the machine three stars because I was told by the shop that it's a great machine and they were baffled in broke so quickly. I would just maybe purchase it from a place that isn't online from Walmart

This machine was working great then after about 2 weeks maybe it's making a grinding noise as the needle is going down after you stop sewing. The space between the part where the light is and the part where the bobbin is is very low!!! I've sewn for years first machine ever like that.... second brother machine that I've had to send back in 3 months!!!!

Great for Beginners & Professionals alike !
"I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart's Sewing Contest." This is the first sewing machine I've purchased. I was wary of all the fancy patterns, since I only really need straight sewing and zig zag. I was also wary of quality, considering the price. But I'm thrilled with this little unit! PROS: Quiet. Light weight enough to stow and retrieve without an effort. Perfect tension, easily adjustable. Cool buttonhole maker (though it's a little complicated to do the first time -- worth it). Top loading bobbin. Easy, digital stitch length and width adjustment and stitch selection. Sews over heavy stuff better than any machine I've ever used. FABULOUS thread cutter that leaves enough thread to start the beginning of a new seam while keeping the needle threaded. No hassle bobbin winding. Easy foot changing. CONS: Assembly around the foot and needle is REALLY shiny metal, making the eye of the needle super hard to see for the reflections. Brushed (dull) metal would be much better. Light isn't optimally placed for needle threading. Threading the machine is a little more clunky than I'd like -- would rather have the take-up lever exposed, and the thread guide above the needle takes two hands to thread properly. But these are minor things. OPINION AFTER 6 MONTHS USE: I LOVE this machine! After using it (a lot!) . It definitely helps to glance through the instructions! Therein, I discovered the needle threader. Wow. It was a little tricky to figure out at first, but now I'm a pro at it, and what a joy it is. The second thing I've learned to love is the needle-up button. After sewing a line of stitching, and BEFORE lifting the presser foot and cutting the thread, I've gotten in the habit of pressing this button every time. This prevents the needle from threading when beginning a new seam (when the take-up lever ends up in the down position). The zig-zag function makes a gorgeous satin stitch; so it's great for applique. The only change I'd wish for is that the presser foot be different, with a centered instead of left thread opening, and that the default needle position were in the center of the foot. But in general, this little wonder has revived my love of sewing after years! Photo of my latest project is attached.

Purchased Several Months Ago and Love It!
The machine was well packed and arrived in a timely manner. It was easy to set up and I made my first button holes for the quiet book shown.I love the drop down needle and drop in bobbin feature. It does come with a manual, but I find lots of video tutorials online videos to be most helpful. Also very easy to remove bobbin case for cleaning.

    Gorgeous machine with gorgeous results
I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart's Holiday Sewing Contest. I've owned quite a few sewing machines and hands down this is my favorite. The CS6000i is a surprisingly sturdy machine that can handle just about everything from spandex to lightweights to some upholstery. It comes with so many accessories that you probably won't need but the walking foot is an absolute lifesaver when sewing stretch fabrics. It works by moving feed dogs above the fabric as well as below, ensuring an even and stable stitch without fabric bunching. Bunching is a miserable issue I have struggled with for years; not once has this machine ever given me problems!!! This is a wonderful machine for beginners. The automatic bobbin winder, needle threader, and easy to use bobbin case make this machine ideal for anyone just learning how to sew. By taking advantage of the lettering system on the numerous feet, beginners never have to worry about trying to find the proper foot for the job. Below is a sample of my work, modeled by me. This dress was made for an independent fashion and design photoshoot at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. (That's just a fancy way of saying I love to sew unusual things with unusual fabrics and my friends and I like to take pictures in pretty places.) It's made from neoprene and heavy vinyl. It's a bit hard to tell but the white vinyl is actually appliquéd to the neoprene!!! To my absolute surprise, this machine handled it perfectly!!!! Even the fur trim was sewn on with no problems. If I had tried this with my old Kenmore, my poor machine would have given up halfway through. One tip for sewing fur or other thick material; take advantage of the machine's automated features. By pressing the arrow button located on the neck of the machine, you can set to stitch automatically. This is a lifesaver for keeping even stitches while sewing heavier fabric which maybe require a bit more cajoling that usual. Don't forget the backstitch, which is also automated!!! I have yet to throw a problem that the CS6000i can't solve. It's easy to use for beginners and just feature-rich enough to satisfy people with experience sewing. I've recommended it to multiple people both for it's price and how incredibly sturdy it is. If you're looking at a new machine, I guarantee you'll be extremely happy with this one.
