Not as good as they used to be
When I bought these plates I had owned cap plates before and been very pleased. After receiving these newer plates I can say with confidence that they do not hold a candle to the quality of their older plates. Off the bat the bare castings are of a VERY poor grade, they have crooked and poorly formed letters and have a loose fit on the bar. To hide this the paint on these is very thick in an attempt to cover up how bad these castings are but they ended up with runs. Looking back I wish I had done more research and spent the couple extra bucks for a better quality product.

    complete garbage. the casting is not even round and the hole is not round. the edges are sharp and will eat up your bar.

    Best deal online I could find
    Didnt weigh them for accuracy but they're heavy! Your UPS guy will hate you but these are nice for weighted dips and pull-ups. Dont have to straddle as many plates.

    Double Check your package
    I ordered (2) Black 45 pound plates. BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS that the plate COLOR you order is what you get. I received in my 2 emails-the original order and the shipment order, i was going to be receiving BLACK plates like the rest of what I had in my gym. When the package arrived it was slightly torn open exposing the plates, and they were GRAY. The box on the outside had them labeled as BLACK, the bag the plates were in inside the box had them labeled as BLACK, and the plates themselves had a label on them which said BLACK. Without a shadow of a doubt they are GRAY. The weights arrived in one piece not scratched. They do what I bought them to do. I wasn't going to wait another week for BLACK plates, so I kept them. They are in good condition, they did not get beat up on their journey here. Overall I'm still happy with my purchase... This rating is to express to future purchaser's-you may not get the color you expected, so double check or possibly be prepared to send them back. All in all they are plates! As long as you use them, you get a good product regardless of color!!!

    Exactly what I was looking for
    Plates were proving difficult to purchase online. I was trying to buy through rogue but the sizes of plates I wanted were back ordered. Other sites like Amazon were charging far too much and only for one plate. Being able to purchase these for close to a dollar a pound and having free site to store was perfect. I would even have considered paying for shipping it if was my only option and I still would have paid less than other sites.

    Reasonable quality for cheap olympic plates
    The plates do not have the fit and finish of the plates at the local gym but then they are much cheaper, plenty good enough for a home gym. I removed the labels from the back, used a drill press to grind the excess enamel from the center holes, washed and dried. Because of the health warning about the finish, I was careful of the dust created.

    What you would expect
    I ordered 12 10# plates and 4 5# plates. One of each should have failed in QC because flashing/overpour is encroaching on the hole and neither will fit onto a bar. I will eventually grind them out and they'll be usable, but these shouldn't have made it out of the factory. A couple of other plates have noticeable deformities, but their use is not substantially affected (ie, they don't lie flat against the other plates, but at least they fit on the bar). Other than this problem, they're exactly what I expected...and needed.

    Great price and arrived fast my only complaint is that they weighed 96 lbs. not 100 lbs. so as long as you know you're 8 lbs. short on your lifts everything is fine.
