Great toilet seat raiser
Great price for great toilet seat raiser. Makes it much easier to get on and off toilet for older people. No need to get new toilet seat will mount to the riser, bolts included.

I installed as stated but when you tighten bolts it leaves a gap the only way you have no gap is by not tightening

    It certainly does the job
    I purchased this because I am 5 foot 10 and I had a regular size toilet in a home that I'm renovating. After putting in new flooring, and subfloor, the toilet was shorter by an inch. I don't have the energy to be changing out the toilet prior to moving and have discovered they didn't put a water shut off on the toilet line. So I purchased this raiser. It certainly does the job and I like the fact that it's under the toilet seat versus on top of. It would've been nice if it would've actually fitted the toilet it's self a little better. And of course I'm now being the butt of many jokes of my friends for being the handicapped old lady. But guess what? My back doesn't hurt and my knees don't hurt.

    It's a Godsend!
    Oh, my! What a relief with bilaterally displaced broken facet joints at L5 and one on the left at L4 and bilaterally broken bones at the pedical screws at L4 and L5 and hardware tearing into me that runs from T-10 to my ilium! Yes. You can still walk with a broken back without screaming and crying all the time, but it is dangerous, slow, painful, and annoying to whoever has the displeasure of driving you around, and you will scream and cry sometimes. They may keep putting off my surgery, and I may be suffering horribly, but this one purchase has certainly brightened my life! There's a bit of a gap between bottom of toilet and the riser, but it does not present a problem. Best advice? This is for a round toilet. Buy it and you will be happy you did. Get a 1 gallon pump sprayer for gardening and use it only for bleach water so you can easily spray clean the entire innards of your commode, including the riser, in 1 spraying. It will be the easiest solution. Trust me. Have your riser delivered to your store, though. Not your house. Vendors of medical supplies, I have noted, can be unscrupulous, preying on the infirm and elderly. This way your store knows for a fact if you received the item. Having done so, the vendor for this item seems timely and honest and it's a sturdy product. It almost raised the seat too much as I did get stuck on it the second time I used it, screaming and crying, as my hip is messed up, too and was cutting into my flesh. I wasn't seated right so it was my bad. Metal bolts and wingnuts! Yay! It's all win! Sorry if this is TMI, but when you get broken into pieces, you kinda want to help others who may be new to getting broken like you did. It's a pretty exclusive little club and I hope you never suddenly find yourself a member like I did. Been waiting for surgery since 8/15 with none in sight. Only empty promises.

    A very good method to raise the toilet seat height
    This is a good method to keep the seat stable. This was the only toilet seat elevator I found that used the existing toilet seat to bolt it down solid to the toilet. Other elevators I tried were not bolted down and would move up with my body when I leaned to wipe. This unit is bolted down and works great. I am very pleased with it. The raised toilet seat is a great help with my lower back pain and a big help when standing up.

    Perfect way to raise toilet seat
    I suffer from arthritis in my knees and spine and sitting on low toilets is almost impossible. The Carex seat elevator work perfect. It is stable, does not shift around and is the perfect height. I am buying yet another for our second bathroom.

    Product is easy to mount and mount is secure due to the non-skid mounts on the bottom. This is the best product I've found and the best value. I would recomment this to anyone who is looking for a toilet seat elevator.

    easier for my parents and serves the purpose well.
    while this product is easier for sitting on and serves the purpose well for both of my parents, and is able to be used with the existing toilet seat and cover, it is hard to clean in between it and the toilet rim underneath. If it would extend down on the inside just a bit, it could be easier to keep the toilet clean. Also, the head of the bolts are round and tall, preventing the toilet seat covers from closing over them. Good product for the price, but could use some improvement for cleaning/ aesthetics.

    Before buying this I had the kind of riser that replaces the toilet seat. It was slightly less expensive but no where near as good as this one that uses the existing seat. The Carex is very stable, being bolted on rather than just resting on top. It comes with two long bolts and wing nuts. I used the plastic nuts from the existing seat instead of the wing nuts. If you use the wing nuts you also might consider washers to insure a firmer grip. The wing nuts may not get as tight if the holes in the toilet base are large. I clean it like I would the bowl itself without removing the riser. The fit isn't perfect and on mine there is a slight overhang that makes cleaning under it a bit more difficult but it still isn't hard. I am real happy with this riser. It is much less expensive than getting a new toilet.
