Great deal on the desktop
This Dell works perfectly for our usage. We basically use if for household bills, music, web surfing etc. Nothing extremely CPU intensive. It replaced an older Dell that was running XP and was not worth upgrading. The machine is extremely fast. I can't tell the difference in response time from my Core I5 laptop. Unit was pristine, booted right up, was extremely easy to configure (hey it's windows 7). Took a while for Windows updates to get the box up to current revision levels but that was to be expected. Great buy if your looking for a replacement for an XP machine. Highly recommend.

Would never buy online and go through this hassle again will probably drop this off at the store and tell them forget it. Worst experience ever

    Dell 760 Refurbished
The computer arrived at the local Walmart for pick-up by the expected date. It worked fine out of the box, with no problems during set up, and has been working without problems for 2 months now. All I have done to it is add an inexpensive external DVD burner, since it only came with a DVD ROM drive. Very happy with it, so far.

    windows update issues
This would have been the 3rd refurbished Dell Windows 7 I bought from Walmart but it's been returned because I could not get the windows update to process. I'm very experienced with the methods but there was a problem with the software. Buyers should realize it's required to update windows 7 to the latest version which takes several hours and can be very frustrating. Also, I tried to phone Joy Systems help line.... after 20 minutes on hold, I gave up. I recommend you buy a refurbished Dell running Windows 10 pro.

    Great Purchase
Ir is unbelievable what a deal this is. First of is the price. This is a full operating computer for a fraction of the price one would pay for a new one. It has the latest windows 7 pro. It powers up with the speed of lightning. It arrived two days after ordering. The packaging was first class. Could not tell it from a "New" one's packaging. It arrived as described and it really worked "Right out of the box". I love it and can't get over the savings.

    Not worth the pain
About a week or so after we received the computer it started shutting down due to a "thermal event." We contacted the company which actually refurbished and sold the computer (Walmart is only the distributor), and they told me that the issue was probably due to poor thermal compound adhesion on the processor (on the machine they refurbished). They suggested that I: a) buy thermal compound and try to fix it myself or b) ship it back to them, wait for it to be tested, and then wait for a replacement to be shipped. Not wanting to deal with having the computer gone for weeks, I tried the thermal compound fix. It didn't work, and now I'm stuck with the second option. So my advice would be to buy from a local company that will stand behind its work, unless you really like to work on computers - and in that case you'd probably build your own anyway.

Need an extra desktop for a room.
I love this thing for the price. I really do. Yes the outside CPU is like 15 years old. Yet if you purchase the desktops with high ghz. Mine was in the 3ghz range with this duo core 2 processor it is very fast. I'm not talking 1990s fast or 2005 fast but extreme quality oh 2010 fast. No its not a $1000 Intel I7 and it cannot crunch numbers like the $1000 I7 but it works quite fast. As far as the noise I was very surprised by how quiet this machine is. Back in the days when they made these machines I was constantly annoyed by the noise they made. This machine is very quiet. It sounds like a quiet popcorn popper. Very happy with that. The processor I mentioned is in the fairly decent range for performance. Core 2 duo at one time were top of the line. The size of this particular desktop is extremely light and small. I was worried it would tip over and I slid it into a bookcase so it wouldn't tip over. Its a little bigger than a notebook and smaller than a large suitcase. Very small for a desktop that you could almost carry around with you. Compared to the CPU cases you see today this is a very small and quiet machine. What else did I love about this machine? It has windows 7. Yes all my top of the line desktops have windows 8 and they work perfectly and you can connect to everything so every tech device you use has windows 8 on it. Yet its nice to have that windows 7 aero glass feel to it. So with Windows 7 on this machine I was quite happy. It came with the 32 bit version meaning you couldn't add any more memory even if the machine is capable of handlijng more memory slots. Microsoft said its ok to put the 64 bit version of windows 7 with this license so I was able to put the 64 bit version in which enables you to add more memory if you would like. I felt it had plenty of power with no sluggishness with the amount of memory given. The hard drive has plenty of space. I forget whether it was a TB or what. Plenty of space though and very happy with that. No monitor. You would need to add one. Remember this just has the basic video in it. No HD graphics so the monitor used isn't real important. Cons: I really cannot think of any except there are bigger better and faster out there. The problem is they are about 100% more expensive. Overall I was extremely happy with this purchase. So much so the following year I purchased a second one for my basement. I feel there is a big difference in these remade machines. Look at the Ghz to get a fast boot up and performance time. Also look at the cpu to give you the speed you need. If you pick out the machines with the best of these two factors you will be quite happy with these remade machines. Best of luck.

DELL 760 WITH WINDOWS 7 PRO
WAS ADVERTIZED AS HAVING A DVD THAT RECORDED AND READ DVD'S. ACTUALLY HAD A DVD ROM WHICH ONLY READS DVDS. CALLED JOY SYSTEMS AND THEY E- MAILED A PREPAID SHIPPING LABEL FOR THE RETURN AND SENT A REPLACEMENT DVD RW DRIVE. SO FAR THE PC HAS BEEN PERFORMING GREAT. IT WAS CLEAN ON THE INSIDE AND HAD NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF WEAR. THE CLEAN COPY OF WINDOWS 7 PRO WITHOUT ALL THE ADDWARE WAS ALSO GREAT.

    excellent value
This PC does everything its supposed to. The keyboard and mouse aren't exactly "high end"; but they are sufficient. I don't think I'll ever purchase a new PC again. The refurbished PC's come with the same warranty, perform as they should, and are MUCH less expensive.
