Awesome Vacuum
All the reviews I read before buying this were spot on. This vacuum cleaners pulls stuff from your carpet that will gross you out, but make you feel better all at the same time :) I love the fact that is is compact, but has the power of hercules! It really is well worth the money!

Not like the Older Dyson's
We had a DC7 years ago and loved it. We decided to get the DC50 Animal from our previous experience with Dyson. This vacuum is terrible!!!!! It would't even pick up the seed pods that were drug inside from our trees. This was returned the next day and went and picked up a Kenmore Elite. Needless to say the Kenmore is much much better and was over $100 cheaper.

    They just keep getting better! Used my old DC33 this morning and it picked up dirt as usual. My new Dyson Ball Compact Animal Vacuum was delivered this afternoon. Vacuumed with the new one, and I couldn't believe the dirt it picked up. WOW! Now thats quality and improvement!

    Great vacuum!
    I have had this vacuum cleaner for a couple of weeks and it's really living up to its reputation. I was apprehensive about spending that much but after seeing what it's pulled out of my carpet I am a dyson fan forever! My carpet feels cleaner and softer and this vacuum is very lightweight so I can easily carry it up and down steps. Sorry I waited so long to make this purchase!

    Great Vacuum
    I had a dyson previously, same size, but was not one of the "animal" models, and I loved it. When it broke, by no fault of the vacuum, of course I wanted a new dyson. I purchased the DC50 because of the sales price, and the fact that I have a dog that sheds bad, and long hair myself. I was amazed at the amount of hair this things picks up!! and does not get a tangled up on the brush bar as easily has my previous dyson. I think I would have preferred the bigger one, because of the amount that it picks up, I have to empty the canister often, but I love the job that it does. You can feel the difference in the carpet after you use it.

    A good buy for the price
    Pro: Powerful and very mobile vacuum for the price. Definitely recommend it to hard floor/hard wood owners. Trash bin is very easy to empty and clean. Con: There are limited flexibility with the angle that we can use the hand held in, which may come up a bit short when reaching for the ceilings. The vacuum seems a bit too easy to get dislodged from the locked upright position. This is especially noticeable when you are just relocating the device.

    Great small vacuum
    This vacuum seems to work very well however I did not realize it was a smaller version. I am still trying to decide if I will keep it or not as I have two goldens and I am not sure if it will be able to handle all of their fur when they are shedding. But, so far this vacuum works great

    Worth every penny!
    I love this Vacuum. It's a snap to put together. It picks up things like you would not believe. I have vacuumed the day before my Dyson came in. There are 2 corgis and 2 cats in my home. I got my new Dyson, quickly assembled it and tried it out on a room. I had to empty the canister before I was done in that room! It picked up all sorts of animal fur and dust. I am a believer!

    Great suction and light weight.
    I bought this for my daughter who owns 3 cats, one with long fur. She had been unable to remove all the cat hair on her rugs with her other vacuum cleaner. When she tried her new Dyson DC50 Animal, she was so happy that she had tears in her eyes. It made the rugs look new and as if they had just been professionally cleaned. One thing that might bother me, but didn't seem to bother my daughter is the fact that you need to empty the canister frequently because it is much smaller that my larger Dyson. But she was excited to see all the dust, dirt and fur that was collected. Putting the vacuum cleaner together was a bit confusing because there are pictures showing you what to do, but no words to help explain it. Other than that, it is a great machine.

    A lot of function in a compact cleaner
    The DC50 is perfect for my needs in a condo where space is limited. The unit performs beautifully on multiple types of floors and transitions from rugs to carpets to ceramic tile with no effort. The big surprise for me was how well it does ceilings, blinds and drapes and also freshens up upholstered furniture quite well. I will be recommending the DC50 to many friends.
