More Than Satisfied
Having waited until the heart of summer to buy a portable DVD player, all the ones similar to this one was sold out on Amazon. Having purchased a non brand car DVD player in the past and having luck, I was not deterred when buying this one and the 66% of 4-5 star buyers helped a lot. It did ship in its retail packaging which was slightly annoying and though we haven't taken the road trip yet, we did a test run with these to ensure everything functions properly and I could not be more impressed. They deliver in a big way and I feel a name brand could put their logo on this product. I have found NO issues with: strapping on back of head rest, connecting both to play same movie, having each unit play by themselves, unless you have a Diesel truck the sound should not be an issue (we bought Sony kid headphones and neither kid complained about loudness) and I was very impressed that this product came with AC wall adapters so you can use these players inside the house (extra convienient if you wanted to use inside motel room) My experience is that even name brand electronics are made cheaply these days (ex. $200 Samsung blu-ray player that is worthless) so let me assure you that you are getting all your money's worth with this product and no I do not work for this company just really pleased with my purchase.

Disappointed this player did not come with a built in battery option. The manual and specifications said battery, but they meant there is a battery for the remote, not the DVD player.

    so disappointed they both looked great no scratches ,everything on the first one we put in our car was beautiful great sound nice picture we were so happy until we put the second one in. did not work kept saying the dvd player was open so couldnt play the movie. we bought these for our long trip for our young children and now they have nothing so upset

    I was skeptical at first then decided to buy Ematic DVD players. Not knowing the brand was the main reason I hesitated, but when I received them I was very satisfied with the units. They are built very sturdy and the play DVDs with a clear picture and no problems at all. The players came with all the stuff necessary to put them in your car for the kids. Each child can play their own movie as the units have their own remote and power supply.

    Met expectations. Had to do a lot of research to find out about the features. Does not have a back up battery for when the car is shut off. The cigarette lighter connections go off when the key does. Have not used, just tested. Will know when we use them more if this is a pain or not. The movie starts over when power is lost, but it is fairly easy to go back and find where you left off.

    Good buy for the price!
    I bought these for my kids (3 & 5) who had a player for the car prior to this but it only played the same movie. They have their own interests and kept fighting over what movie played. I have had these for about two weeks so far and they get used almost daily in the car. We have had no problems whatsoever thus far. The picture is great, screens are big, and movies do not skip when you drive over bumps. The only thing I would like to mention is that the volume is pretty low even with earphones, I have not tried to play the same movie on both yet to see if it is louder that way or not. Overall for the price I feel these are an excellent option for someone that is in the same situation we were in!

    Not worth it.
    The first set I received had to be returned because one wouldn't read any DVDs. I got the second set fast. If your dvd has even the slightest scratch it says no disc. If you tighten the straps tight to fit snug on your headrests it causes them to make a noise and not play any disc. It's really frustrating. So then my husband thought we will just get movies on a USB and the kids could watch them that way but not all movies will play. 2 out of 15 we uploaded to the USB actually play. This set is cheaply made. I'm going to return them and pay the extra money for better quality. The only benefit this set had is that they are meant to play their own discs but it's not even working properly to do that. Also we did put a brand new disc in it right from packaging and it played until you started driving. Didn't play well at all with movement even.

    Could use improvement.
    The screen size is great and the setup is super easy, BUT I will be returning this product because: 1) The disc starts from the beginning each time it is turned on....if you are running errands, by the time you get to your next stop, your children have only watched the "credits" or advertisements:( 2) There is no easy way to change the brightness of the screens. If you are traveling at night and want to dim the screen, you have to go through the whole "menu, settings, options, brightness, and then adjust" ordeal. The last DVD player I had, had a button on top of each monitor which was like a "high, med, low" option to adjust the brightness quickly and easily. 3) Each time you turn your vehicle on, (if you want both monitors to view the same movie) you have to press an "AV in/out" button ON THE REMOTE to connect the second monitor to the first one:(

    Piece of junk.
    I bought these for my girls. As soon as I plugged them in one worked the other didn't. It made a horrible noise then said no disc. The only way to get a hold of Ematic was through email that should be a red flag right there. The website said it would take up to one business day to get back to me, a week later still no phone call. The players don't play where they left off that's annoying. The remotes won't work unless they are almost touching making them useless. I would give even less stars but it won't let me.

    Great except ...
    I've had this DVD player for a week and use it every day. This is a great DVD player for the car. It can play it's own movie in each monitor or you can hook up the the AUX cable and play one movie on both monitor. Each monitor has it's own remote which is clearly marked. The bad thing is that it does NOT remember where you left off when you turn of the car. This is not so annoying on long trips but when you are going in and out of the car all day it is taxing. I would not recommend this to any one who plans on using it around town. Also the sound from monitor A over powers the volume on monitor B. The sound is good and the picture quality is great but I would not purchase again. I'm returning to Wal-mart tomorrow.
