nuvi 2797LMT is very nice.
The 2729LMT GPS is better than I expected. I ordered the GPS from Walmart pickup and I was surprised how quick I received it. The GPS 2729LMT has more features than my automobile built in GPS. I bought this GPS to use when renting an automobile. I rated "Value" as good because the price is right but cheaper price is better. I would highly recommend the nuvi2797LMT 7" GPS.

Good Garmin product with normal Garmin route issue
After setting up for Avoidances the routing function still gets its own mind as how you should go. This unit wanted me to U turn and kept insisting on it for the first ten miles of a 20 mile direct route home from the store. When I think of using it on a long trip to a new town the thought gets real scary. Maybe their Map Provider needs to Make trip to the western states. All my Garmin units seem to have the same type of problem. The GPS is very accurate; location, elevation, travel time, services and road surfaces. It just gets its own mind which is against all logic on routing issues. I have noticed on rural roads the maps are getting better on eliminating routes that go through military bases and roads that have been washed out for years. When this shows up let the provider know through the Garmin website.

Especially helpful in heavy traffic when needing to know which lane to be in for exiting. Not being familiar with the area we were in, this helped so much. Mrs. Garmin is my new best friend! Also finding lots of options to personalize it, like avoiding certain roads or u-turns, etc. Very easy to operate, and this coming from a couple of very technically challenged adults. Wish we could find a good way to attach it to our dash. What we bought is not working. Our dash is not flat at all. Haven't tried the windshield mount that came with it.idahobarrelracer

I am so glad that I bought it.....it will make my traveling experiences much less stressful. I was able to navigate through urban and sub-urban areas with ease when I was over there. And if you miss a turn, it re-routes you very quickly and gets you to your destination very easily! It sits on a dash friction mount. Due to it's size and weight, might be too big for the included windshield mount. Voice commands work great. No printed manual is included in the package and must be downloaded form the garmin web site. The current manual is dated March 2013. I had a problem with keeping the display at the brightness setting i wanted but could not find any help in the manual. I contacted garmin customer support at 1-800-800-1020 and within 15 minutes the problem was solved. I recommend you print the manual but do not put off calling customer support !! If you deviate from the saved route the unit will recalculate the route within a few seconds. Out of the box i went to www.garmin.com/express to register the unit and update the maps and software. ( could take a few hours ) . Well worth the cost.mapsagogo

The Garmin nuvi 2797 LMT with 7" screen delivers all of that and much more. The screen is perfect for us "older" folks to see and pay attention to the road at the same time. The voice command is awesome! You can simply tell the nuvi what to do instead of having to always use the touchscreen! And the added features like Free Lifetime Maps and Traffic are just what we needed. I would recommend this unit to anyone. You won't be disappointed!BaseballDad2

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/30/2014No traffic on regular streets?Turn by turn is detailed enough for those that have used a GPS before. Rarely leaves you guessing. Traffic report shows you how close you are to a congestion on the road and how bad it is(red, yellow.) One thing about it... is that it still thinks that there is no traffic on the city streets and as long as you are stuck doing 20 mph on the freeway, it's better than getting off the freeway and using the streets that go alongside or give you a small shortcut.wannagethomequick
