That’s a whole lot of humidity!
That’s a whole lot of humidity! My new Holmes Whole House Smart Humidifier is great. Although this is a whole house humidifier the size is perfect, not taking up to much space. It looks great too. Because it holds four gallons of water I am not filling it up twice a day which is a time saver. I do like the fact that if it does run out of water it will stop running so it is not just fanning the house. The two slim water canisters are sleek and easy to fill and carry. The smart feature using the WeMo app is nice too. I can turn it on and off, change the settings and even know if the filter needs to be replaced right from my iphone. The one thing I do not see on the iphone is when the water level down and need to be refilled, it would be nice if that could be added as I cannot find it although it does say it is a feature, however there is a low water indicator on the top of the unit. Downloading the app was very easy following the instruction that were provided. Living in the Chicago area our winters have been very cold and with this humidifier my house is consistently comfortable. For a humidifier this one is pretty quiet on medium speed which is nice. The filter replacement is an easy task as well. My wish list would be for them to add rollers on the bottom, but not a deal breaker. I would recommend this unit in a heartbeat.

Holmes Whole-House Smart Humidifier enabled by WeM
I really wanted to like this and to be able to use the Holmes Whole-House Smart Humidifier enabled by WeMo. Unfortunately, I had a few problems with it. The size of this thing is huge, but is well built and not very heavy. Assembly was pretty much right out of the box. No tools needed. I will admit, the biggest problem I had with this humidifier is my fault. I did not place it on a completely flat surface. Instead, I wanted it located a bit higher off the floor and place it on a tote with lid. Which resulted in leaking after an hour of use. I could not get the app to work. I reinstalled it. From what I have heard, it could be my wifi or phone causing the issue. The good news is that one can still use this humidifier without the app. Which I ended up doing. Upon use, the fan on either setting is a bit loud or noticeable. It is something you can probably get use to in time. Also, there isn't a auto setting for the fan based off humidity. The water tanks are easy to fill if you have a shallow sink or a spray hose. It is recommended that you do not use hard water. If you do, it can lessen the life of the filters. I believe that each tank is 2.2 gallons. They also dry quickly if you are done using the humidifier and want to store it. For whatever reason, I had difficulty breathing while the humidifier was on even at it's lowest setting. (I have asthma) It could be too much humidity for the sq ft in my home. It have 1,045 sq ft home. I think it's important to note that anyone considering this humidifier should have room enough for a fairly large object to be placed.

    Great Humidifier, Not Sure about Web Enabled Need
    It’s that time of year when those of us in the Midwest pull out the humidifiers and dutifully refill them each day! After reading that a good humidifier will not only help with dry sinuses, cracked lips, bloody noses and more, we learned that humidifiers have also been tagged with the ability to reduce the survival of flu viruses in the air. With two small children in our house, we may very well put one of these whole house humidifiers in every room! All joking aside, we recently received the Holmes Whole-House Smart Humidifier enabled by WeM and set it up near the master bedroom, which is most centrally located to the other bedrooms in the house. The humidifier is wonderful – it was easy to set up, has a large water capacity via two slim tanks and emits a nice white noise sound that is not too loud. It is a fairly large unit, which I’m assuming all whole house humidifiers are, but they’ve done a nice job on the design so it blends in more with your darker woods. I was excited to receive this particular model due to the web enabled capabilities. However….full disclosure…. we haven’t even attempted to connect to the scheduling feature. We live in a very old home without a humidifier on the furnace, so have always run our smaller, room-size humidifiers around the clock. I’ve found that we’re treating the Holmes Whole-House Smart Humidifier enabled by WeM no differently. Ultimately, we just didn’t see the need for the web enabled capabilities. I should say, however, for homeowners in different circumstances, this would certainly be a bonus feature. And, perhaps, we will try to do this in the near future. Overall, I would definitely recommend the humidifier for its basic capabilities, but simply cannot speak to the web enabled features.

    Nice Humidifier
    My family desperately needed a humidifier and this fits the bill. Last year we moved to a new house and it has baseboard electric heat. This was our first time with electric heat and it really dries the air out in our house. Last year we suffered from congestion, bloody noses, and sneeze attacks all winter long while the heat was on. We have tried the individual ones in our rooms but it really is a hassle to keep up with so I wanted a whole house humidifier. This is what I did and did not like about this machine. PROS: The Bluetooth capability and App for your phone is really a great idea and it works perfectly, we put it on an Android phone. It was easy to setup and directions were simple and straightforward. We have had zero problems with it and it makes checking and changing settings super easy on the go. The two water tanks are easy to fill and big enough that you will not have to refill them all the time. It is easily portable, just remove the tanks and the machine is lightweight (though may be cumbersome in size to some) and easy to move floors if you have a multi floor home. We keep ours upstairs where the bedrooms are. The noise it makes is not unpleasant, more like a white noise, and you can change the speed if you need it quieter. It is a great set it and forget it model. Simply set the humidity level desired, speed, and let it go. Use your app if you need to in order to change settings or check the status. CONS: What you are paying for is really the technology. Aside from that, it is a basic machine with basic parts. It feels of cheap plastic, though it looks okay. For the price, I would have expected a better, more quality feel to it.

    Cool item. Difficult set up for internet.
    I was excited to get this item as I had a very dry house last winter. Everyone was always getting shocked and I went through a lot of Chap Stick. The unit itself works pretty good as a humidifier and that part of the set up was a piece of cake. One little thing is the tanks are not lasting me 3 days like I thought they would . I may just have a very dry house but I am having to refill both tanks in less than two days. I have noticed the air is a lot more comfortable though and I am happy with it overall. As far as the WiFi/WEMO app goes, I tried to set it up when I first got it and everything seemed to be going fine. It found the unit in my available networks, I then downloaded the app and selected my network and put in my password but then it would get to the end and it would search for the humidifier for 5 minutes and then say the set up failed. I then reset the unit and started all over from scratch and it did the same thing. I did it 3 times and then finally gave up. I read on a review for this on Google that someone else had the same trouble and gave up but then the next day, it just started working. I tried pulling up the app the next day and it still just searched forever. However, the day after that, I tried again and it worked. It has worked ever since. I really like it now. It sends a message to my phone when it is low on water and that is helpful because I would forget all the time otherwise. I can change the fan speed and humidity levels no matter where I am and I even tested it while I was right next to it and it changed fan speeds with a few seconds of when I did the command. That part is pretty cool and I am going to look in to getting other WEMO enabled products. I would have rated this as excellent if it had not been such a hassle setting the internet part of this up.

    VERY NICE PRODUCT!!
    I may be premature in doing this review because I don't think we're far enough into cold weather for the house to become excessively dry. The booklet tells us the moisture reading should be between 40 and 50 so my husband set ours at 45. So far it's only come on once and run for a day or so when we had some very low temperatures. Mostly though, it reads in the high 50's to low 60's and the unit has not been running. We have two vent-free gas logs and therefore do not even need to run the furnace except in really cold, windy weather. Because the humidifier on our furnace does not run very often, we thought this product would be helpful in keeping the correct amount of moisture in the air. So far, however, it doesn't seem necessary. I guess that's the first thing I would advise before buying this unit - make sure you need it! But if you do . . . . . I think the Holmes Whole-House Smart Humidifier really fills the bill. Easy to set up and get going and the thing I love most - IT'S VERY Quiet!! We have it in a central location which just happens to be just outside our living room, and set on "low", it does the job and you can't even hear it. That's a big plus for me! The slight moisture on the inside of our windows show me it's doing the job even on "low". It's also an attractive unit which doesn't take away from your decor. All in all, we're very happy with it and I'm sure as we get more into cold weather, it will kick on more often and keep our home very comfortable. We don't use the WeMo connection, but works fine without it.

    Great Holmes Whole-House Smart Humidifier
    The Holmes Humidifier can accommodate an entire house up to 2,500 square feet. It has 5 settings - humidity level display desired humidity setting button, Wi-Fi restore button and fan speed settings. An automatic shut-off and a dry out mode. Can run for up to 60 hours and has anti-microbal protection. It contains 2 wick filters. It is brown in color and measures 2 feet tall, 2 feet wide and 1 foot depth. Capacity is 2 gallons each for the water tanks (2 of them). Helps you maintain and manage your home environment. The humidifier work great but WeMo didn't work as good. I have tried it over and over and it won't work so I do it manually and it works great. It has a low water indicator It is great for preventing dry sinus es, bloody nose from dry heat, and cracked lips or hands. a humidity level below 20% can be unhealthy and uncomfortable. the recommended humidity level is between 40% - 50%. I puts out a droplet of water which can not be seen with the naked eye and this adds moisture to your dry air home. I would recommend this humidifier. It is reasonably priced and a good value for the money except for WeMo. A suggestion - This could last a long time if you use during winter months and put away for the summer. It has already improved my nasal passages being so dry and stuffy. I would buy this product.

    Great whole house cool mist humidifier
    This is a great whole house humidifier. The directions are easy to follow and the wemo app is easy to download and set up. You do need an internet connection to set up but once it is set up you can control the unit using the buttons on the unit itself or by using the wemo app on your phone from your home or anywhere else. That feature is nice because while you are not home you can control the humidity levels in your home with this cool mist humidifier with fan. I have a standard cool mist and warm humidifier which both you need to refill the tanks and plug in but this unit has a four gallon tank and you can control from anywhere which is a pretty cool feature. Beware the unit is big and a little bit expensive. Depending on how dry your home can get or if you need the humidity levels for health reasons this is a pretty good purchase as it will keep your home to the humidity level you choose and the unit will turn on and off once the desired levels are reached or not. At first I placed this unit in my child's room because she has had a cold for several days now but once it was set up I realized with the fan feature it may make her room a little cold so my husband moved the unit into the living room which with the tanks full you will spill water and it is very heavy. I think after the tanks are empty from using the unit I will move it into my bedroom where it is known to be the hottest room in the house. I think this will help keep our home at a nice desired humidity level and keep our room from staying hot. Almost like a mini ac unit during the winter months when we have the heat on to keep the rest of the house warm but we can stay a little cooler. I guess that would not be the intended purpose for use but why not? It will keep our home at a healthy humidity level and keep my room more comfortable. All in all I would recommend this product just beware it is a little pricey but with the technological features and ease of use you can't go wrong if you need you humidity levels controlled in your home.

    Great Humidifier!
    This is my review of the new Holmes Whole House Smart Humidifier with WeMo. I have had this humidifier for almost a week. I've used it everyday for ten hours and notice an improvement in our home. No more dry skin, no more static electricity in my hair and our allergies are much better. This is a cool mist humidifier with a four gallon water capicity. There are (2) two gallon water reservoirs on each side with openings on top for easy access. It uses (2) wick water filters that are already assembled with one in front and one in the back. Both are easily accessible as well by opening the filter doors. I have ordered additional filters as replacements from Holmes Products web site. There is a control panel at the top of the humidifier for settings of preferred humidity levels and fan speeds. It will display the humidity level and will shut off after reaching the preferred level you choose. I find it to be very quiet with the setting on low or minimum with the exception of the water tanks dispersing water into the bottom every so often. Sounds like someone gulping, but it doesn't bother us. There is also a status display of the wifi connection. The Humidifier can also be operated by your wifi connection. You will need to download the WeMo app for your smart phone, ios and android. The directions are easy while using the WeMo app. It walks you through. This is the first WeMo appliance I've used. It won't be our last. I do have to mention if you use the WeMo App, its important to install the updates. I have an iPhone 6 plus and earlier this morning I could not connect through my wifi. After several attempts of trying to connect through the Wifi and uninstalling the reinstalling the app, I decided to unplug my wireless router for 10 seconds. That was all I had to do. The wireless router needed to be restarted. I highly recommend this humidifier. Thanks to Walmart for carrying the Holmes Whole House Humidifier with WeMo. It's a keeper.

    FANTASTIC HUMIDIFIER!
    This home humidifier is FANTASTIC! I received this humidifier this past week and wanted to put it to the test to see how it really works.......making sure to test every nook and cranny so I can give an honest review about its functionality. It not only performs, but it performs above and beyond what I ever expected it to. THIS IS A MUST HAVE APPLIANCE FOR EVERY HOME. It provides a level of humidity that you can program to your specifications and comfort level. This humidifier can be controlled with its easy to understand instructions either manually or with your smartphone ( I have a Droid so you need a smartphone) and you won't believe how accurate it is either way. If you decide to use your smartphone, you can download the easy app from the play store entitled WEMO. Very easy and once its installed, just follow the easy instructions for setup, and off you go. No matter where you are, you always know what your humidity level is in your home and if you want to adjust it, you can easily do it from your smartphone no matter where you are. It is just that easy and simple. The unit is a good size measuring approximately 2-12 feet high and 2 to 3 feet long and about 14" deep. The filter is easy to remove and replace, and very affordable. You would want to clean your humidifier as often as you would any other. Once you have this appliance in home you will ask yourself how you ever got along without it before because it truly makes that much difference in the quality of your air in your home. No more dry mouth or lips, throat or anything...no more itchey skin...it is unbelievable how much having the correct amount of humidity in your home really does matter when it comes to your health and also your furniture. Its amazing. Don't hesitate on this purchase....believe me, it will make such a difference in your life.
