Very good player for the money
Researched for a couple days and found this player to be the most economical for the quality. We really didn't want any bells and whistles, just a good blu ray/ dvd player. I did pay close attention to other reviews and went ahead and bought a HDMI cable at the same time. I measured how long I would need from the TV to where I wanted to put it. So all my time and planning paid off because when it arrived we opened the box, plugged in the cords to TV and blu ray player and it worked the first time! I looked at my hubby and said, "that is the simplest thing we ever hooked up". Anyway make sure to order the cable when you buy it, I got the Link Depot 6' Gold-Plated High-Speed HDMI Cable for 4 or 5 dollars and it works great. As far as the blu ray player goes it was a great little player well worth the money we have enjoyed movies several times since the purchase.

It didn't work when I first plugged it in. But it works fine now. I do not like that it doesn't have any control buttons on the unit itself. Everything except power and eject have to be done from the remote.

    This is an excellent buy, you will not be sorry for the resolution. Just remember you will need a HDMI Cable for connectivity. It does not come with a cable. Other than that its all good. L Smith

    LG Blu-ray Disc Player BP155
    It is a simple and basic blu- ray player. That's what I wanted. I have a smart TV so I did not need a smart Blu-ray or DVD player. The product seems to work perfectly. It comes with the apprropriate power cord and one AAA battery for the remote. You do have to provide your own HDMI cable to connect it to your TV. This player will play music CDs and picture CDs. If all you are looking for is a simple, basic player without any bells and whistles, this is all you need. I also have faith in the LG brand name so that was one of my deciding factors in purchasing this product.

    Simple Set Up; Easy To Use
    I wanted just your basic bluray player. Nothing with different apps loaded as I was going to use it with a Smart TV. I figured since the tv had everything loaded into it, getting a bluray player with the same would be kind of overkill. I also wanted an LG as the tv is also LG; so maybe the setup would be seamless. It was. All I was asked was to pick a language for the onscreen items that might show up. Other than that it was plug and play. It's really difficult finding a basic bluray player anymore and I'm very pleased WalMart carries this model at a not painful price.

    Perfect basic player
    I wanted a straight forward, good quality dvd/bluray player and this is definitely it! It takes a fraction of the time to play a dvd on this vs a game system. With a little one that definitely comes in handy! The space-saving design fits on our minimal shelf next to our tv without drawing attention to it. Overall I would definitely recommend this player!!

    This Player is a Great Bank For Your Buck
    Was in the market for a Blu-Ray DVD Player on a tight budget....Ordered this On-line taking a chance and what a pleasant surprise....Picked up at the store, plugged it in with a HDMI to a new Flat Screen without my Directv not even installed yet. Movie played without any problems....This is an awesome product and the price is even better. Plays both DVD and Blu-Ray DVD's with ease !!!! Oh and sounds great as well !!

    Great player for a fair price
    For the price this is a great player. Have had no problems or major issues out of the box. My TV is a 1st generation model and does not provide a 1080p picture. Highest is 1080i. The settings on screen option allows you to set the player to any definition setting or just leave it in automatic mode. Nice. Options include Standard, Vivid or Movie picture settings. One nitpick - Some stores advertise the unit being able to play Divx and DivxHD discs. Not true. It plays Xvid discs which is an entirely different format. Disappointing but not a deal breaker. BluRay discs are outstanding. DVD disc playing was a pleasant surprise. Very much improved with this player. Avatar is my disc demo standard and it really pops with this player. This improvement alone is worth the price. If you only need to replace your current DVD player seriously consider this unit.

    Great simple and basic Blu-ray player!
    Most Blu-ray players nowadays are bundled as streaming devices. I already have Roku for streaming and I only wanted a basic Blu-ray player without the streaming feature. Sony and Samsung didn't seem to make such basic players anymore. LG was the other better brand I would consider in consumer electronics. I was glad to find this LG basic blu-ray player on Walmart.com. Great price, great buy! It works great. Hopefully, it continues to work great for many years.

    A great value, indeed.
    I wasn't looking for something fancy. This is a solid, well performing product and is everything I was looking for. Take it out of the box, plug it in, and connect to the TV (you need a HDMI cable). Works great and I expect it to do so for a long time. I recommend it to anyone seeking a dependable economic player.
