The manufacturer "Lifetime" is misleading
This is the second one of these which I had to replace as the plastic backboard itself will deteriorate and disintegrate (average 5 years). Then to replace the backboard one must buy a replacement hoop, net and hardware as there is no option to purchase just the backboard itself. I am certain replacement cost for just the backboard would be significantly lower than purchasing the hoop, net and hardware with it. There is nothing "LIFETIME" implied or actual in this product as even the accompanying instructions state that the plexiglass life expectancy is 5 years.

    I had a problem removing an old mounting bracket. the customer service rep was exceptionally help, patient and walked me through the process of texting photos to make sure the replacement bracket was correct.

    ok for the price
    Very noisy when the ball bounces off the backboard. Probably because the backboard material is not attached to the framework in the middle of the board, just the edges. When the ball hits the backboard and slaps it against the plastic framework it makes a very loud pop sound. The plastic probably acts as a speaker and highlights the noise. The board seems to function well in other aspects, and the price was what I was looking for something seeing occasional use when the nephews and grandchildren are here. If I were really into basketball, and going to use the goal a lot, I would suggest going for a higher quality backboard.

    Cheaply Made. Doesn't meet specifications.
    Don't throw your money away on this product. It's poorly made and is smaller that 44"... I was replacing another lifetime backboard (44") with this one and noticed when the new one arrived, it was smaller. I measured it. There is no dimension that is 44" wide. If you look at the picture, the black part below is about 43" wide and as you go up on the back board the dimension is more like 40". To me, that is false advertising on the part of lifetime. Walmart did a stand up job of working with me when I called. Lifetime, not so much. As a parent with 3 young kids under 8, I would avoid this product.

    Great Value Product
    This combo is well made featuring a rim with very good springback. Read carefully that this is a 44" backboard. I replaced a 48" board without giving it much thought. The difference was noticed at first but players quickly adjusted and reported the 44" board to be plenty ample. The instructions were a bit confusing to me, a mechanical engineer. Remove the hardware and instructions prior to installation and take time to study would be my advise.

    Great product but you should provide specific bracket and hole location specs for all your backboards online. I would have stepped up to a more expensive model had this info been available online

    Backboard woes
    Appears to be a good product but I purchased it because it said it could be mounted on a pole however it didn't come with anything to mount it. You need to buy a mounting kit which almost doubles the price of the unit. I will be better off buying a new complete unit. I will returnit to Wal mart and look into a different unit

    Very happy with the product.
    This was a replacement for a Lifetime acrylic backboard that had been destroyed in a hail storm. A little expensive I feel but it looks really nice and I can't complain about the quality. The instructions could stand to be a little clearer. It works great on our Lifetime adjustable pole. Just make sure when you are taking one down and putting up this one to hold on to the pieces from your old backboard and rim. We had to interchange several parts to make it fit with our mounting bracket. It took two adults to install this.
