~MUCH better than expected based on prior reviews~
After buying two "luxury" twin mattress pads here:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/250-Thread-Count-Luxury-Cotton-Mattress-Pad/7811148?findingMethod=rl
within the last month for my daughter's bed at college (a pull-out daybed with a trundle arrangement with two twins) I was not looking forward to buying a third for the new daybed (same trundle style as my daughter's) in our guest room. I took a chance when I saw this inexpensive one in the store knowing I could easily return it.
The three year guarantee and label proclaiming it had been improved and now had a knitted skirt sounded promising. I remembered the awful reviews about the skirt tearing on this less expensive item which is why I'd paid more for the two I'd ordered for my daughter's room at school. This was quite a pleasant surprise.
I put it on the 7 inch thick twin mattress in the guest room today along with a brand new two-inch memory foam topper and had no trouble pulling it firmly down around all corners and along the edges. The apparently newly designed skirt is a knitted tricot with lots of stretch. I don't know about the 15" claimed on the package - that seems like a stretch - (pun intended) since it is just about as tight as can be with the nine inches it's covering now.
Seems padded enough for my intended use - which is only to protect the bare memory foam topper since the inexpensive ones never come with covers and a bare sheet alone is really no protection at all. I can't speak to durability since I just got it but it looks well made and the skirt is certainly much improved from the earlier version. I was much happier paying $6.96 instead of $11.88 each for the two for my daughter's room and will buy a second one again for the other mattress for the daybed here at home.
Since currently there is no picture of the package I'm adding a photo of the package sold currently with the improved skirt blurb.

Just horrible!
I wish Walmart offered a quality mattress pad instead of these thin, cheap, disposable ones. I ordered it using Site to Store and returned it before I even got out of the store.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/21/2016Excellent for the PriceAfter shopping around, I bought 2 of these mattress covers. You can't find a better bargain than this price. When I put the covers on the twin mattresses, I was pleased to see that the top of the polyester cover is very smooth and tightly woven. While a cotton cover would absorb soil, I believe this material will help prevent soil from seeping through to the mattress.SusiHomemaker

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/27/2016Does the Job. Ridiculous 3 year WarrantyThis mattress pad accomplishes the job of protecting the mattress and adding a slight touch of padding to it. It's nothing fancy-pretty utilitarian. I believe the one I purchased yesterday is less padded than the one I purchased 18 months ago. I thought it was great that it has a 3 year warranty. I take the cardboard insert out of the packaging to read about the warranty details. You are required to MAIL IT TO CHINA. Uh.....yeah. I'm going to mail a $10 mattress pad to CHINA? Who in their right mind is going to do that? It has no warranty, honestly, if this is what is required to get a replacement.dah1

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/26/2014just a little thicker than a sheetThere is no luxury here, but then you are not paying for luxury at this price. I have these mattress pads in my camper to protect the mattresses there, but they add very little in the way of cushion.busymedb

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/14/2014It's alright....I purchased this just as a protector between the mattress and the fitted sheet. I have rented out my room for the last two years and wanted an extra layer of...sanitary, beyond Lysoling the mattress. I really didn't expect it to be soft. It wasn't soft. It was as if there was a fluffy layer of 600 thread count sheet I was laying on. Nothing spectacular. It met my expectations so therefore I gave it an Excellent rating in that regard, but over all, it's cheap and it is doing what I want it to do.classigamer

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/26/2013Great value for at least a temporary! We needed a temporary mattress cover that is cheap. I read through the reviews, and despite all the bad ones, I chose to take a chance. I'm glad I did!! We have been using this one for two weeks so far and have not had ANY problems with it!! The only downfall is it is a little smaller than stated. The description says it fits up to 15 inch deep mattresses. Our mattress is 11.5 inches deep, and the cover is a little snug (more than it should be). However, we didn't have any problems with rips or anything while putting it on like a lot of people said they did. Conclusively, I would recommend this to a friend. Great value for the price!!Unknown
