fun & relaxing
We purchased this for our twin boy's 10th birthday. It is so easy to do, and does not require any batteries!! We purchased the gun and extra packs of pixels, and glow in the dark was a big hit. It comes with designs but the boys quickly started making up their own designs. It's very relaxing and makes for a great after school transition time. My 14 year old daughter and my 8 year old niece loved this as well. Everything worked great. It even comes with stands, and string for ornaments. You won't be disappointed with this. Great product for the money. Make sure to get extra pixel packs.

Fun but hard to store
My son received this as a birthday gift. He really enjoyed making things with it. He didn't follow the templates provided; he made his own creations. My problem with this toy is the storage. The bead tray doesn't have a lid, and it is difficult to get all of the water out of the turbo dryer when you are done with it. My son went to play with it a second time and water had leaked out of the dryer into the beads and ruined them. They were stuck together. He enjoyed it so much the first day that I would recommend it, as long as you put the beads and the turbo dryer in ziplock bags when not in use.

    Bought this for both my kids. Pretty simple to do. However no top for the cubes so have to put them in a zip lock baggy. Not many cubes and only after 4 uses I have to go buy a refill. Requires no batteries. Pretty cool idea!

    The patterns don't stay attached firmly.
    The Quixels are designed to lay a pre-printed pattern onto a spiked tray to then add the little beads to. Unfortunately the patterns were not completely flat, so they did not lay flat against the pattern holder, making it nearly impossible to add the beads to it. We taped the pattern down on to the edges of the holder, but that still did not make the pattern flush with the holder, it was raised in the middle, causing the beads to not settle onto the spikes. My son is working on it right now, and a bit frustrated that the beads are not flush, so when we spray it, we're not sure if the mold will set. If you purchase this, save your receipt.
