Easy install and quick training.
Extremely happy with my purchase. Only took a few days for my dog to adapt after I installed it. Had to purchase another 500ft spool for my yard. Being able to not have to install this inside and drill through my house was a big plus in purchasing this fence. My dog now has freedoms he didn’t in the past and loves playing with the next door neighbors dog. He is very wary and doesn’t get too close to the edge. We have it on level 3 and never had to go higher. As for price, so much cheaper than having a company install - have already recommended to a neighbor.

Better for medium to large dogs
PetSafe Invisible Fence has helped a lot with my old English bull dog. She likes to wander off sometimes chasing butterflies but now her know to stop because she's leaving our yard. The collar would be really heavy for a smaller dog like my chihuahua. We also tried it on her and it was to big for her tiny kneck even though it sizes down to 6 inches. It slid off. You get 500 foot of wire to bury and 50 training flags to get your dog use to the mild shock they will get if they get to close to the flags. The collar vibrates first then it shocks. I actually put it on my arm before putting it on my dog to see how strong it was. You can set it by their wet. It did get her attention but it hurts her worse when I say bad girl. The monitor looks like a rock and is battery operated. Make sure to keep those batteries fresh. It has a light to show that it's working. I don't recommend this for small dogs. But it is working out great for my bull dog.

Quick and easy to set up
Absolutely love it! Installing was easy and actually pretty quick. Took about 2 hours. Figuring out the area for our dog to access took more time than actually installing it. This can be either buried a few inches in the ground, lay it on the ground...a lot of options. This might work for people who camp and don't want to keep their dog tied up. It comes with 500 ft of wire but we bought more wire to expand our dogs access area.

    Easy to set up
I like that this system runs on battery so I didn't need to cut any holes into my garage during insulation. The transmitter box cover fits tightly  so moisture wouldn't be an issue even thought the box is outside. My border collie has long hair so I immediately installed the additional set of longer contact points and they seem to work well on him. I've included a picture so you get an idea of the length of his hair.  Thank you PetSafe for having two lengths included. If your dog seems sensitive to wearing the collar, try putting the box off center.  My dog acts as if it's choking him when it's on center. The boundary wire was easy to install. I was fortunate to get this in before the ground froze but plan to buy another roll of wire in the spring to enlarge the pet area. I like the boundary flags as they clearly note where the line is and helped my dog to quickly learn that boundary. Now when I enlarge the pet area, I will move the flags to match the size. My only disappointment is with the collar. I'm afraid that the plastic buckle may break since I take the collar off every night. If that happens,  I plan to go to the local craft store and buy a replacement buckle. I did see that replacement collars can buy bought from the company so that's another option.

    YardMax Cordless In-Ground...works great anywhere!
PetSafe YardMax Cordless In-Ground Fence works great anywhere and when traveling and even at my parents house. Yardmax Cordless is easy to setup with all the things that are needed to keep our dog safe. Everything from the waterproof collar with charger, waterproof transmitter, 500 feet of wire, boundary flags and markers and everything else that is needed. This took a few hours to setup to get my Black Lab started on training with this setup. We didn't dig holes because we can use this when traveling and camping and even when we are visiting family and friends but the wires can be buried. It is battery powered (10 D-cell batteries not included) so it is easy to pick up and take with you and work when the power is out as well. This setup is also expandable for up to 1.4 acres if needed and added pets with additional collars. It works for dogs and cats 5 pounds and up with a neck size of 6 to 28 inches. There is 5 levels of adjustable correction for training with customizable boundaries and automatic safety shut off. Transmitter battery life is expected for up to 12 months and receiver collar can last up to 3 months on a charge and only takes 2 to 3 hours to charge. When your pet gets close to the markers it will give a beep tone and if your pet passes the warning zone, it will give them a safe but surprising static shock. PetSafe has thought of everything with this Yardmax Cordless setup. I would highly recommend the PetSafe YardMax Cordless In-Ground Fence for training your pet or when traveling, camping or visiting.

    A LIFESAVER!
We needed something to keep our dog from running out onto the busy road we live on. Every time we opened the back gate, we had to put him inside. The PetSafe YardMax Cordless, In Grounded Fence. Model PIG00-15958 has solved the problem. Yay! The system seemed overwhelming when I first saw the long list of instructions to install it, but it turned out to be relatively easy. It comes with a waterproof transmitter, 500 feet of wire, marking stakes, a waterproof collar- (with charger) plus other items you will need. It took my husband and I about four hours, to map out the area we wanted and install the wire.As we rent, we didn't dig a hole. We staked the wire down, so it is low enough we can mow the lawn, without disturbing it, or creating a trip hazard. It might take a little longer if you decide to bury it. Make sure to test it works first, before you put the collar on your dog. We used a leash to train our dog as to where his boundries are, the collar has six settings. You'll need to charge the collar before using it. Our dog had previously had e-collar training -(vibration), so he seemed to catch on fairly quickly and has learned to stay within the boundry area. Please note, in the instructions, it says that the system isn't reccomended for agressive dogs, puppies under the age of six months or less than five pounds. The transmitter will need ten double D batteries. We've found it to be a good system to keep Rory safe. Even though the instruction book is lengthy, please take the time to read it thouroghly, it will be worth the time and you'll be able to fully understand how to install it properly to keep your pet safe.

    Perfect for the dogs area!
The PetSafe YardMax Cordless In-Ground Fence is great! We used it in our back yard for our chihuahua and after one day of training he hasn't even attempted to go out of his space. We were skeptical at first but it seems to be holding up well. The only drawback that I have found is the kit came with only one collar. I wish it had two so when the one we are using needs charged I am always ready with the second one. That is a simple fix though I will just buy another collar. I would recommend trying this if you have that wondering type dog.

    Works even in snow!
We recently got a new pup that loves to wander so this training opportunity was amazing for us! This invisible fence was very easy to set up and the directions were very well laid out. The only problem we have faced is that we have had snow on the ground ever since we got it. We are improvising a little bit by not fully putting the wire underground, instead we put it where we want it in the snow. It only took us a couple hours to set up but like I said, that was due to just setting it in the snow and not actually burying it. We will revisit it in the spring and take the time to actually bury the wire. This is working really well actually. We put up the flags as there is not enough snow to bury them right now. We currently have ours set to the traditional mode and our pup picked up on it really quick. We are lucky as he does not try to push the boundary so we do not have to set it to Yard Max mode. Our pup started getting used to it after only a couple days and it has been working as promised for our training needs. I also wanted to note that our pup does not sprint out the door, someone may have to switch the setting to Yard Max if they have a pup that likes to dart as they will most likely fly past the correction zone and be gone.
