yOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
IT LOOKS LIKE THIS PRODUCT IS PRIVATE BRANDED TO A NUMBER OF COMPANIES. THE PYLE STAMP WAS SMUDGED ON THE FACE OF THE MONITOR. I DID A BENCH TEST FIRST AS THE DIRECTIONS WERE VERY POOR. THERE IS A LOT OF EXTRA WIRING IN THE BOX THAT MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT NEED. IT WORKS OK, IF YOU LEAVE THE MONITOR ON WHILE DRIVING YOU WILL PICK UP SECURITY CAMERA FEEDS FROM THE BUSINESSES AS YOU PASS BY.

Very disappointing
I bought this as a back up camera for my dually, crew cab pickup, and I wanted a wireless unit so I wouldn't have to find a way to run a video cable the length of the truck. I'd had a VR1 wireless unit and it worked fine until the camera got full of water. This was the only wireless unit I saw online (Walmart site), so I ordered it. The first thing I noticed when I got it was that it's not a self contained wireless unit (As was the VR1) but they have taken their wired unit and added an inline transmitter for the camera and an inline receiver for the display. OK, so I wired it up (No big problems there, red to hot and black to ground) but, once I tried it found that the transmitter is much too weak to get any kind of decent pic on the display. It was very pixelated, blinked on and off, and was generally unusable. It is very sensitive to postion, and I tried every place I could find but just could not get a useable pic. Not much you can do with the transmitter placement since the cable length at the camera is limited, it must be up under the bed of the truck. The next day I finally gave up and decided to do what I was trying to avoid, run a video cable under the truck. They supplied a cable, so I sucked it up and crawled under. Well, guess what? The cable is about six feet too short! I managed to root around in the garage and found a cable, then bought a video cable butt connector and got that connected, then had to rewire the power cables taking out the inline transmitter and receiver and replacing them with straight power cables. Finally, the thing worked just fine, which is the only reason I gave it even one star. Oh, one other thing. The mount for the display is permanently attached to the display, which is fine, and they give you some stickem stuff to attach the other end of the mount to the windshield. Well, guess what? The stickem works really well on the windshield, but will NOT stick to the mount!! I found the display laying on the dash every morning and had to find some Velcro to stick it on with. Bottom line: If you want a wireless unit, look elsewhere. If you want a wired unit, this one works well, but there are others much less expensive. As I said, very disappointing.

    Camera lens
The camera came with a spot on the lens (on the inside) and it made the picture in the viewer screen almost useless. I had already cut the installation cable on the camera before I noticed it. I should have hooked it up temporary so I could have seen the picture quality. If I had I would have returned it. So I took the camera apart and washed the lens with warm soapy water and it cleared up. Now the picture quality is pretty good. Still not the quality of picture I expected. The factory holder for the camera covers up the top of the license plate so it can't be used in Texas legally. I removed the bracket from the camera and put Velcro on it so I can position it over the trailer ball area when I am hooking up my boat. That is the only reason I purchased the system. The viewer screen is very limited in the way it may be installed. The bracket can't be removed and has a very limited position selection so there is no place in my 2016 Ram truck to mount it that does not look out of place. I wanted to mount it on the driver side visor and I am still working on that. I am happy with the wireless receivers that came with the kit. It will get me by for now but I would not recommend it to anyone, I would recommend getting a better quality setup.

    not exactly wireless
This camera system requires wiring the camera and the monitor into the vehicle's tail light wiring and fuse box, respectively. This would automatically void my extended warranties on both the electrical and computer systems. Also, I had to research the instruction online, as the product did not contain them. Not what I thought I was getting.

    This thing works as advertised.....
I read some bad reviews of this item...people took them to shops to have it installed and were told it doesn't work, etc....This may be because the directions included (which are very basic) are incorrect regarding the Wireless connections and show the Wireless Transmitter connected to the Monitor and the Wireless Receiver connected to the Camera which is opposite of how it should be! Common sense should tell you that the Monitor has nothing to send to the Camera to receive! It is a bit of a time consuming install with some very light gauge wires that need connected to larger wires, but if you've done any 12 volt wiring projects before it is not too difficult. I tested the operation of camera and monitor with the video cable before installing anything to be sure they both worked and then installed the wireless components and retested....Voila!

    do not buy
Three sentence directions, no diagrams, lots of wires, monitor had two loose wires, power cord did not attach to monitor. Took it to three different places to have installed, one refused the other two wanted over $130 to install and they said this was a confused jumble of wires. They both recommended purchasing a backup camera from PEAK. Which I did after I returned this Pyle

A very good image makes backing up a breeze
Having a little courage to dismantle parts of your car is the biggest step for installation of the backup camera. The most difficult portion of the install is getting the wiring to the backup lights and finding a power supply for the monitor. Because I installed the camera in a Van, I had to dress the powerline quite a bit further to get to the backup lights on the body frame. Once that was accomplished and all of the trim replaced, I then had to deal with finding a power source close to the top of the windshield. I finally decided to tap into the power line for the vanity mirror located on the visor. That turned out to be the easiest part of the install. I placed the 3.5" monitor next to the rear view mirror. It is a natural location for it. I tested the setup and was pleasantly surprised by the clear image that the wireless transmission provided. The daytime image is better than the nighttime image, due mainly to the bleeding of light onto the lens from the built in LEDs. The night image is completely useful in helping with backing up, it just has a little bit of light leak on it. Overall I am very pleased with the quality and overall usefulness of the product. So much so, that I am purchasing another unit for my wife's car.

    Fantastic value
The wireless was worthless on my 1988 GMC Jimmy but the yellow wire was long enough for it to still work. Works great day or night and the distance grid is very helpful.

    View is good.
The product seems to provide a good view directly behind our motorhome. But, hooking it up was an experience. The directions were non existent. Be prepared to find someone with experience to do the hookup - wireless it is not. It also flickers when in motion. Considering the price it is probably a fair deal.
