An alternative to my rigid truck boxes
I purchased two of these carriers for a trip in our open pickup bed. Normally, we travel with truck boxes and coolers. We were going to need the full bed for furniture moving, so I decided to try these instead of our usual gear. These cartop "bags" performed well. All our odd shaped stuff fit easily in the two, which gave us new-found room inside the quadcab. We hit a little rain on the way, but everything was dry. When we reached our destination, our stuff came out and I rolled up the bags. Nice full bed available instantly! This may be the way we roll for short trips. One con is that they are not secure like locking truck boxes chained and padlocked to the bed.

Not good
Don't waste your money. Didn't even last 1000 miles before it was shredded. Had to figure out how to fit everything in my trunk because there was no way I could drive anymore with it ripped open.

    Not durable!
I bought 2 of these cargo bags to carry vacation luggage. These bags are super roomy and held everything we needed on our vacation. The straps to secure the bags were long enough to use on top of my Lincoln Navigator, they seemed cheap and flimsy, but held up great. The trip was 5 hours each way, and the bags did not fare well on the drive. Upon arrival I removed the cargo straps and unloaded the bag. ...that's when I saw the big holes in the fabric where the straps were holding the cargo bag in place.......i feel that these bags are more or less of disposable quality since they didn't survive a 5 hour drive. They are being returned.....I'm disappointed in the quality, especially after wasting money on waterproofing spray, to be sure that, if we got any rain, which we didn't, our belongings would remain dry and usable.

    Great
We used this as extra storage for a short drive to grandma's house. We also purchased the mat that goes under it. At first we weren't impressed with the size, but then as we loaded it the true potential was understood. Our fuel mileage wasn't affected but we also drove slower than usual as the weather was snowy. We placed all items in plastic bags as suggested in the direction for set up. Everything remained dry. The material is a thick canvas type similar to a decent quality backpack.

    weather-resistant NOT waterproof
The size met our needs. It was easy to strap to the roof of the car firmly. We only had side rails to tie to, but we made it work. The zipper was easy to work and the amount the carrier opened was just right for sliding our big suitcases inside while on the roof of the car. The only issue was it is not actually waterproof and we drove through some heavy rain. Our softcover suitcases inside the carrier got very wet as well as the clothes inside of one of the suitcases. Weather-resistant is not waterproof. If you need waterproof - choose another model of carrier.

Just got this item, Its not water proof, but seems to be made well. I will tarp it and use cargo net when it is on my car for travel. I also plan to use water proof containers for the contents I will carry in it. I think for the price and a little thought when packing, it will work just fine.

Can't beat the price for what you get.
Order online and it's cheaper. It got strapped onto the front and back rails on top of our 2015 Toyota Highlander Limited. We drove from Tampa Florida to Houston Texas. We hit several rain showers but I figured everything I had packed could either be washed in the washing machine or we put the item inside a trash bag. Everything got there in one piece and the bag looks 100% the same. The only issue I have is with the quality of the zipper. It wanted to come off the track a few times and that would have been bad.

It Got the Intended Job Done
The bag was for my youg daughter who is moving. She has a compact SUV with limited room but has a roof rack. For under $20 and reading the reviews I was skeptical if this bag would work. The materials were better than anticipated. It loaded easily and the four tiedows were sufficient to keep in place however I also used two kayak tie downs over the top and under/over the rack. The bag and it's contents made it the 849 mile journey unscathed. She will be bringing back home for another trip this month.

    Good quality Cargo Bag
This is a pretty good quality bag which held up well for me. One thing that might help you decide what to buy...the size of your load is important. These bags do well when over two thirds to completely full. If you have small loads then you will get lots of movement and will need to tie the bag down very tightly. If you plan on carrying loads in the future just go ahead and buy a solid cargo carrier. These bags can be a pain to keep adjusting during a trip should you not get it right the first time. I think this one was 10 to 11 cubic feet and that was more than I could ever use. We put in a very large tent, air mattress, 2 sleeping bags, three camping chairs, wood, pillows etc. with still some room. There is some wind drag and mileage loss but that's how it goes for anything on your roof. Our first trip was short 1.5 hours, and this worked great for that. The next trip I only filled it a third of the way and had to use extra cords to secure it , it is really big. This thing kept coming lose and making noise in the wind, flapping, howling etc. finally I stuffed everything in the car and just put up with lack of space....no more problems. These do good filled up. The bag itself held up well, no rips and breaks, solid good material. It can be used over and over. I didn't encounter rain so can't comment about that.

    Worked Great for US
We used this bag for a family camping trip. The add said that it is "weather-resistant" but I found on the manual that it is not the same as "weather-proof" since it said that we needed to put our belongings in plastic bags to keep the rain out as the bag was not "water-proof". I felt that was a little misleading, but it didn't rain, so we were fine. Otherwise, the bag performed remarkably well, has ample storage space for our needs, tied down nicely to our car, which only has the cross bar luggage wrack, but it stayed right in place. I needed a step ladder to pack it, but my husband is tall enough that he could do it without any problems. When we left the campsite, I couldn't help him load, so we packed it before putting it on the car and had one of my strong relatives help my husband lift it on. That worked better than trying to pack it on top of the car. I loved that it had a little storage bag and that it folds down to almost nothing. We can store it with our camping equipment and use it every time we go.
