Great Little Heater!
Let me start by saying what a great little heater. The heater itself is about 6.5 inches high and 8 inches wide. This little heater looks like a really cute old time radio with a white face plate. The heater has several different settings including fan only, high and low. The day it came to the house it was really cold outside, so I couldn't wait to try it out. I put it into a room that is 10x14 feet. I then used a digital thermometer for measuring the room temperature. I set a timer for ten minutes. The temperature of the room went from 58 to 68 degrees in just ten minutes. I was impressed! I have been using it everyday since. The outside does stay cool to the touch, but is not suggested around small children, drapes or other items that may catch fire. The heater also has a safety shut off if it becomes to hot. I have never had that happen, but knowing that the feature is there is comforting. This is a heater that I would buy for any members of my family with no reservation about it's safety or quality. It does a great job!

Expected more out of this heat fan.
I am disappointed in this Sunbeam Heat Fan-Forced Heater. I wanted a small heater to put in my bathroom to use while showering on chilly days or nights. The instructions say this item is not to be used in the bathroom due to moisture that could harm the internal mechanisms; as is the case with all such products I believe. All of the cautions of where it cannot be placed gave me very little choices. The retro look of the heat fan is cute, the color is nice too. I guess I did expect it to be as small as it is but I still expected more from it. I’ve had other similar heat fans that really warmed up the room it was in. This one I feel you have to be right in front of it to truly feel the warmth. The plastic casing seems of a lesser quality and makes me concerned to leave it for any amount of time because it does heat up. It worried me that the heat from the bottom of the heat fan may damage a counter-top or whatever I placed it on. I also had to keep a keen eye out for my curious cat. I thought about bringing it to work for under my desk but doubt it would make a difference. I would not suggest this heat fan. Look for something else.

    Nice Little Heater
This little heater is great for small areas. The design does not exactly bring to mind a radio, as the “Retro Heater Fan” title would indicate, but it is a very functional design. The appearance is works well in an informal space. Having said that, I have found it very useful as an “under the desk” heater. The unit I got has the red case. I would say that the red is a a brownish red. The controls consist of a thermostat knob and a mode control knob. TI have found that the thermostat has a wide range and works well. There are four positions on the control knob: 1: Off 2: Fan 3: Lo (Heat) 4: Hi (Heat). Heat is generated via a energize coil and spread via an internal fan. There is a red power indicator light on the face of the unit and is always on as long as the unit is plugged into a powered socket. With the fan function, this would be a perfect 2-for-one option for the dorm room of that college student in your life. I would highly recommend this product for anyone needing a small room heater. If this unit has a long service life, it will be a very good find.

    Adorable and does the job
We've had this little space heater for close to two weeks now. It has done a great job. The description on the product calls itself a "Retro Radio", but in reality, it looks more like an old time TV set, or even a microwave! But that is just semantics. Take that as you will. The best part about this one is the color. For some reason, manufacturers have long thought everyone wanted things in only black or silver. Not true! Ask Kitchenaid if making things in colors has been popular! Ours is red, with a gray front. The grate and inside fan is black, as is the writing on the knobs. This doesn't take up a huge foot print either, which is a great thing. Be sure to have open space all around it for proper air circulation, and of course, do not sit anything on top of it while operating it. To help you visualise the size, I took photos with a standard Chapstick in front. The knobs make it very easy to adjust the heat temperature. This unit offers the option of just the fan (circulating air that is neither heated nor cooled), low power or high power - the difference being the amount of wattage it uses. This can be important if you live in a place with touchy breaker boxes or perhaps a college dorm with wattage restrictions. It heated the room quickly and efficiently. The ONLY complaint I would have, if any, is that this unit is a little noisy. We have three room heaters, and this one is louder than either of the other two by different mfgs. It is not so obtrusive as to hinder conversation, but it is not going to be totally unnoticed either. If you are super sensitive to noise, this might not be your best choice. Overall, I could indeed recommend this product. It did a great job heating the room, and has been very nice to have this chilly winter. We use it in an upstairs bedroom. Note that we do not leave it plugged in when not in use, and you must have adequate space to not let it touch anything else (no curtains, etc etc). This would not be my first choice of heaters if you have small children, since it looks like a toy and could be very tempting to them. It is definitely NOT a toy, and something parents should be aware of, should they choose this unit. Very cute item, LOVE the colors, and it does a great job in heating smaller spaces. We've not had to use our central heat much this winter, thanks to space heaters.

    Small heater/ good heat
I was very excited to receive this Sunbeam Retro Radio Heat Fan. I have a small bathroom that never seems to be warm enough. This is a good looking heater and it is small enough to fit in a cramped space. This heater actually looks like a radio so as not to distract one's attention. The purpose it serves is to put out just the right amount of heat to keep that one person who is always cold. Some people feel cold ( especially the elderly ) no matter how high you set your theromstat. This would also be helpful next to the chair you sit in to watch television or read a book. Under your computer desk or next to your pet's area are two other areas that could benefit from a little extra heat. Seems like there is always a draft somewhere in the home. This heater has a power on light indicator, high and low settings, and one thing I especially like is, a fan setting without heat. The only drawback I found was that the fan motor is a little too loud. I would recommend this heater to a friend or to a person who takes care of an elderly person (s

    Nice Small Heater
First off, this is not a combination radio and heater. The heater is built to look like an old-time radio, but it is just a heater. This is a small heater, about 6x6x8, but it puts out a fair amount of heat. I had this running non-stop for about 48 hours in a lower level family room that is 20x24 and it was more than enough to knock the chill off. So, for a small unit it does the job pretty well. Also, the design of the heater forces air directly out the front - not down or to the side. So, whatever the heater is sitting on does not get warm nor does the area directly in front and below the heater get warm. I think this is a plus as for many of these units you have to be careful what you sit them on as they heat up the area around the base of the heater. The unit has 3 modes, fan only, low heat or high heat. The fan is fairly loud but runs smooth with no abnormal noises. This unit would be a good choice for people who need white noise to sleep and you can just use the fan function with no heat for that purpose. The cord for this unit is a good length, about 6 feet. After running for 48 hours or so straight the cord was warm, but not hot. So, everything functions normally there. As shown in the pictures, the unit has 4 solid rubber feet that it sits on and they are very stable and will not slip or slide on a smooth surface. The one knock that I have is that there is no automatic shut-off on this unit if it gets tipped or knocked over. Probably not real important as this unit has a low center of gravity and would not be easy to accidentally knock over, but folks with rowdy dogs or active children should be aware that this unit does not have that safety feature. In conclusion, this unit does what it is supposed to do and looks pretty good doing it.

    little but good
i got this from spark reviewer and i opened the box, after reading the manual because i always do i plugged it in and ran it. the heater puts out a lot of heat for a little guy, but there was no obvious difference in the fan speed between low and high. they could improve the design with a little cord storage too since this is something that is not in use all the time. overall a good little heater. it had my feet too hot in a very short time and i had to turn it to fan only. the thermostat only adjusts whether it is on or off it does not control how much heat is being put out. i like the decorative flair they are trying for in the retro radio look and it does come in other colors like in my walmart they have a blue one. for $19.97 it is a good piece of equipment and if it lasts i will be using it for many years to come. it has the usual precautions like do not allow near clothes or drapes and something i do that i don't think i read is a cool down period with fan only when done using it. this would definitely be something i would buy normally. thank you spark reviewer.

    Efficient little heater
It is as small as a little radio and it's kind of cute. I was a sort of disappointed with the flimsy way it was put together, but then, it's not a radio but a space heater. Its "radio" knobs are the heater controls and the orange power light looks like a radio station indicator. It has a snappy red jacket with an off-white front with silver knobs. It also has a 6 foot cord. It was a little smaller than I expected, but it is a size of some of the radios which came out after the old wooden ones which were made like works of art started going out of style. Radios such as this were really popular with the teen-agers. But this is not a radio. As far as being a heater, it gives off as much heat as you want it to. The top knob is a thermostat control. It goes from a cool temperature to quiet warm and shuts off automatically when the room reaches the set heat. The bottom knob has different settings on it. The settings are OFF, Fan, low and high. The fan setting just blows the air which surrounds it like a regular fan so this little unit can also be used as a fan. Now, the low setting operates the fan slowly and emits very low and lukewarm heat if you have the thermostat set on very low. But if you have the thermostat set on high, it can emit very warm heat even with the fan low. Same thing goes for the high setting. The fan runs faster and puts out heat to a larger area. The setting "high" on the thermostat and on the fan at the same time gives off a lot of heat in the immediate area - say within 10 for 15 feet. But it does not heat up a normal-sized room very fast if at all. It's a cozy space heater which works well for uses like under a desk or almost next to you if you are sitting in a cold place or in smaller places like a travel trailer or camper. The only drawback I can see to this unit is that it's pretty noisy. This is not a quiet unit. I would recommend it to a friend after telling them it's cute, but not very quiet.

A heater for winter, and a fan for summer!
It is a great little heater, it is so cute! It is small size, but don't let the size of it fool you! This little thing blows some pretty good hot air! The heater has got 3 settings: fan, low and high. You can also adjust the temperature from low to high. I think what is the biggest plus about this heater is that unlike any other heater you can use this one for both: cold winter days and also hot summer days as this unit is fan activated, this means if you set on fan setting the unit will only blow cold air, and i have to tell you cold air will not disappoint you at all! The heat setting is hot, and the fan setting is pretty cold! This heater would be great for usage in small rooms or even at your work desk, just put it in front of you and enjoy the flow of hot/cold air! This product is not heavy weight at all, it is may be 2 lb at the most and has got that cool retro look to it. I have put it in my bedroom overnight and used it as a heat supplement and sure enjoyed it, it takes a minute to heat up a small room but it definitely does its job! It uses same amount of electricity as most of other heaters out there which is 1500 W when it is on high setting and 750 W when it is on low setting or on cold setting. The unit is pretty durable and very easy to use, does not require assembly and comes with instructions. This heater would be a great present to your coworkers as a Christmas present for cold working days or for nice gesture for hot summer days. I highly recommend this little heater to anybody who is looking for one to use at work or at your home in small spaces.

    cute design, alot of heat
My office is typically freezing so I wanted to purchase a small heater. The dimensions are approximately 8x6x5. I do like the small size. Even though it is compact, So far it puts out a great deal of heat. Low runs 750 W and high runs 1500 W says the manual, but the fan level is the same on both. I do wish it would have been a bit quieter on low. Other reviews mentioned it being loud. It is not the loudest I have heard but it is not super quiet either. Probably something they need to improve is the loudness. I do enjoy the thermostat feature on it. It is a bit confusing on how to set the thermostat though. It could have been easier if it was some type of separate button. Note, you do need to adjust the thermostat all the way to the right (high) when you first use it. I think it kind of warms it up then you can turn it down from there. I find if you are cold then you want the high heat anyways. I also think it is a nice quality for the price. Only feature I wish it had was it is gets knocked over, some type of auto shut off. If it over heats it will auto shut off (never tested it) but if it gets knocked over I know some have that feature. Still a good one for the price.
