Great Desk, Awesome, Unusual Color.
First off the color is awesome, very different and unlike the typical pieces I've seen. Shipped to home - arrived VERY early, packed very well and securely. Unpacking - Lots of protective materials. There were lots of pieces, wow. Yes some are unlabeled BUT easy to find. I unpacked everything in the office and did a piece count, everything accounted for. I also made labels for the pieces without them (only a couple.) Assembly - A Step at a time, there are lots of pieces and steps here, but what can I say; its a big desk and thats what I needed. I did a lot of the initial steps alone with just a screwdriver, towards the end I had someone assist me, especially with the back board. 3 Hours Total Time. Very SOLID desk, i've dealt with wobbles before but this time there were none. Quality - Very high, I love the Sauder twist lock fasteners. Nothing Broken upon arrival and all parts and hardware were accounted for, plenty of extra screws and nails. Added extras to the backboard for additional stability. Highly Recommend this Product to those that want a somewhat different finish. Be patient, the assembly can be daunting for some i'm sure.

Garbage
I just almost finished putting this together and decided to move it to the bedroom. I placed a slider underneath the desk so it would move more easily. After 10 feet of movement, the desk collapsed and injured me. Most of the joints which use the twist-lock device broke through the cheap thin material. This desk is NOT wood. It's tiny wood chips glued together. This glue DOES attract and is food for certain types of flying roaches. In fact, as I opened the box, there was one inside. I'm too poor to buy cheap furniture and this is just another example of why this is true. This desk is GREAT if you don't intend to move or use it. I have included two pictures which show just two of the many examples of structural damage caused by the collapse. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. No, actually you get less than what you pay for most of the time.

    Very nice and long lasting
I bought this over 7 years ago and it still looks great. It is really sturdy. The only problem I found which can be a decision changer is that this color is actually a stick on type of material which peels off if you accidentally get scotch tape on it. The front trim of the sliding tray where the keyboard goes can peel off and get caught in you tearing it even more.

    Great desk!!
Now that it’s together, this desk is beautiful. It came in two very heavy boxes. It took me about 4 1/2 hours to put together (I am a 37-year-old, fairly handy, woman). We have the rest of the Sauder furniture and wanted the matching desk. My only complaint is the inconsistency of the labeling of the pieces. Some of them were labeled and some weren’t. Overall, I am very happy with this product.

    GREAT PURCHASE
The desk arrived in two 96 pound boxes at my local Walmart 1 day ahead of schedule. My wife and I unpacked the boxes while they were still in the truck and carried the pieces in one at a time. Be sure and try to build this desk very close to where you want to put it because it is heavy and solid as a rock when completed, so it is hard to move. It would be nice if the hutch and the desk were 2 pieces instead of 1. The condition of the pieces was excellent, all holes were drilled perfectly, all the hardware was there plus some extras and the color was perfect ( brownish grey ). Assembly took about 5 hours, with a break after every step. I am 72 so it is hard to get up and down from the floor not to mention I weigh more than the desk. It would have taken longer if my wife hadn't helped by reading directions and handing me parts. Now for some helpful hints. Get a muffin pan and separate all the small screws and parts. Pay close attention to the long black screws. There are 3 sizes and 2 types (panhead and flathead) DO NOT MIX THEM UP. use the right screw for the right step. Lay out all pieces in some kind of logical order after reading through the instructions. All pieces , except the obvious ones, are labeled with a sticker or written on the edge with a letter. As you put parts together try to position them exactly as pictured in the instructions. Count the holes in the picture and count the holes in the part you are working on and make sure they face the same direction. DON'T HURRY. You will build the desk face up and be asked to turn it over to attach the back. The desk was so heavy and since we had limited space we elected to stand it up and attach the back. If all your twist locks are not fully tightened then the desk can be a little unstable until the back is on so be careful and make sure the desk is square when nailing on the back. Since all of our joints were very tight and snug the desk was perfectly square when we stood it up and very little movement side to side until the back was on. While the desk was still on its back I put self sticking felt pads on all bottom corners, this made it easier to slide on the tile floor. The last step was the drawers and door. This was the easiest part, they went together great and fit perfectly. We love the desk and the color looks great with our ash colored tile floor. After pricing similar desks that are already built I think we now have a $600.00 piece of furniture and love it.

    Sauder Harbor View Computer Desk
An excellent piece. Easy to assemble. Don't let the hardware parts bag scare you. I take a cup cake pan and sort out each piece, being organized is the key to a successful build. This is a fine piece of furniture so take your time and layout each piece . I've been building things for many years and believe me it does not pay to rush and slap things together. Take your time and work at your OWN pace. Be it 3 hours or three days. You will have a fine piece of functional furniture. The important thing is to sort and layout the parts and become familiar with them. Go through each step before assembly. If you get tired or frustrated take a break and return to the project at a later time. Sauder is an excellent company. They will always offer advice. All pieces and hardware are quality. Any defects will be promptly replaced. Build time for my desk was about 6 hours plus a couple extra hands to lift and move around. Happy Building.

    Absolutely Love It!
The desk arrived almost the whole week earlier than the scheduled date. The assembly instructions were easy to follow, although it was physically heavy for me as a woman to do it all on my own - that's why it took me about 6-7 hrs total, much longer than I had planned on. So, for the sake of time and to make the whole assembly process more fun I highly recommend two people. The quality is pretty good for the price; the color and design make this desk look more expensive than it really is. Salted oak works beautiful with my lime-green office accessories, including the lime-green area rug. It has a lot of storage space, it's very functional, strong and sturdy, and it has a very distinctive look. It's also very heavy, once it's put together.

    So happy with my desk!!
My husband and I have bought a few book cases and another desk that need to be assembled. Hubby said this is the best quality piece we have had. Shipped fast and got here early. Came in 2 boxes which are both very heavy! Hubby built this in about 2 hours by himself. Made sure to lay out all the parts, followed the instructions and it went together very easily all in all. I have been using it for about a week and I love it! I need lots of storage and this has plenty! So happy with our purchase, the amount we spent is a great deal for the amount of desk I got! Especially after looking at how expensive hutch desks are in furniture stores!

    Excellent for the price
Got my desk delivered 5 days before scheduled arrival (all good), and put together with husband in 2 hours 50 min. Had not put a Sauder item together in 8 years, and they've come a long way with engineering the connections. Quite clever. It's solid, looks good, has great spaces/drawers. We looked at a lot of desks, and this fits the bill perfectly. Had it shipped to the house, as there are 2 very heavy boxes.
