Excellant Register
I run a small business that has approximately 150 customers a day. We have had this register just under a month now and really like it. It is very easy to use and understand if you have had previous experience with registers. If not, with a little patience it is easy to pick up. I do use the SD Card feature and do a lot of work on my personal computer with item descriptions and prices/departments. The scanner works great and is easy to use I would recommend this register to anyone looking to upgrade to a register with a scanner and more features tan they currently have. If this is your first register, I am sure there will be some time needed to learn the machine and all the features it comes with. There are also some good videos at You Tube that will help also.

Unable to input CRV calculation
If you sell high volume of beverages, NEVER buy this product!! Unable to program CRV (California Recycle Value?) You must manually enter CRV. Another issue is the manual do not clearly instruct how to program bar code scanner in DETAIL. EX) No explanation item description/how to type& enter item detail. for example, Marlboro100 or Bud Light 25oz Can, etc. The manual simply shows how to program by Department. However if you don't have large quantity item or simple calculation, then this cash register should be OK!!! (for beauty salon, sandwich & hamburger/Deli shop!!

    Worst Register
    Please Don't buy this register it is impossible to program and there is no customer support so you are on your own I used 5GB SD card 32GB card but still not uploading in the register.I am returning this register.

    Student Council
    We use this for our Student Council sales at football games and other events. We put them on carts and move them a lot. Had one for 4+ years that quit working so bought this same model and works great. (Update on the old one. I had time to call Sharp help and when I plugged it in it started working just fine!)

    Seems to be good for small business
    Seems to be good for small business with light volume, comes with basic ccd scanner. Happy with the purchase so far but only a few weeks into use. Manual is sorely lacking but several videos on UTube show the basics in getting started, programing and use

    Sharp - XE-A507 Cash Register - Not For Me
    The XE-A507 is a decent cash register for a very small business. I would not recommend for a C-store. I read reviews about the scanner not being so good before I purchased, and they were right. The scanner is slow (holding right on UPC) and would not work on most cold drinks, even after drying bar code. The register is also slow on calculating total of sale. Not that it was a big deal, but a noticeable difference compared to the Sharp a406 model. I thought at first that I would purchase an updated scanner for this machine, but decided against it. I want the ability to track inventory and scan products out and I found that if employees have any problems whatsoever, they will revert to typing the cost on the register itself, instead of taking the time to scan, which totally defeats trying to keep inventory. I found that having to use the SD card to pull reports is doable, but now days there's better options out there. The register does not come with SD card either. I read reviews about the program that's used to pull reports is archaic..... and I agree. It's like they tried to make a good machine, then their budget got cut or something when it came to the CPU, Scanner, and interface options. One other note, the register comes with two small rolls of receipt paper (about a 1/4 of a full size), which I thought was cheap. Anyway, I returned this cash register to Sams Club with absolutely no problems and for a full refund - no hassle.

    Working well for my small business
    I purchased two one for each of my two stores, I spent two to three days entering the information into the machine copied it onto an SD card and loaded the information onto the other machine in a matter of seconds. Only complain is that it goes to sleep very quickly and have to get used to touching a key to wake it up before anything is keyed in or you miss the first number of that transaction.

    good machine but not for the price
    I paid $400.00 for this machine with a barcode scanner but it doesn't do much more than a cheap machine for $199.00. For $400.00 i expected something that would help me with my inventory and was hoping that when i put the items in to the system whenever someone made a purchase i could scan the item and would show that i had one less item in my inventory. So i had to return it and get a Sharp xe-a207

    Good product
    We got this for out small country liquor store. Even tho we are small, there are a lot of UPC's to code. The process, while tedious, was fairly straightforward. The scanner works very well. Most uses are intuitive if you've used cash registers before. The manual leaves a bit to be desired, the translation is sometimes off a bit.
