Great stand mixer
I bought this as a gift as I have had mine for over 20 years. It is perfect for mixing cakes, whipping cream, any light mixing jobs you may have. If you expect it to do the job of a $300 plus mixer, it just won't happen . You can take the mixer off the stand and use as a hand mixer also . It is good quality so it will be heavier than a standard hand mixer. This is a perfect stand mixer for every day mixing hands free. It's priced fairly also.

Worst mixer ever!!
I bought this mixer with a Christmas gift card and I am so disappointed with it. I used it two times and the mixer broke off of the stand and now I only have a hand mixer. All plastic parts. Not worth the money.

    50th Birthday Gift
    Have an older Sunbeam Mixmaster that I love and for my daughter's 50th birthday wanted her to have one too. The only differences between the new & old one is hers now is orange and mine is the standard white and I have glass bowls and hers are metal.

    Wished I had bought a different machine
    So today I tried making a buttercream but turns out that I need to constantly scrape down the sides because it doesn't mix it in well only mixes the middle and when I stoped the mixer to check the mixture, I was even more sad because it doesn't even mix the bottom part! Ugh! And forget about making dough with this mixer because it kept pushing my dough up into the hook holes so I just stoped it and knitted it by hand instead. So disappointed! I guess nothing I can do now but stop and mix myself when I mix something and use my fingers to stop the dough from ridding up when I make a dough.

    Great for baking cake!
    My husband and I just got a second one of these so we could make wedding cakes more efficiently - we don't know what we'd do without them! We recently learned how to put the beaters in properly - make sure to put the one with the white tip towards the outside of the bowl (it's wrong in some of the pictures). We also learned how to take off the top part - so much easier to transport that way! Why didn't we read the manual sooner? :P

    Not Good Enough!
    I was really excited about this mixer because I wanted a stand mixer that could be used as a hand mixer also. The quality of the mixer, bowl, and beaters seemed like high quality. I had gone to stores to check this out before I ordered in on-line. I had two things to make the day I received this. First I mixed up cream for cream puffs. Not a problem at all. I was really happy. I washed the beaters and the bowl then mixed up a cake mix with some other ingredients. The mixer did not want to work on low. There are 12 speeds on this mixer which is a nice range of speeds. The motor was moaning and pulsating like it was going to give up. It worked on high speed but if I was making cookie dough it would have quit on me. I'm very unsatisfied and will keep looking for another. This one is going back and that was the first day I had it. So Sorry to have this issue.

    Good stand mixer for the price
    We wanted to get my mom a new mixer, but she doesn't have room for stand mixer on her counter. She had an old Sunbeam stand mixer that was 50 years old. In order to get a solid, powerful mixer that can be removed from its stand, we chose this model. There were few others to choose from that offer the option of being a stand and hand mixer, but with large beaters and 12 speeds. The only negatives that I see so far are: weight--the mixer is much heavier than I thought it would be. The mixer is also constructed of plastic for its outer shell, rather than metal like the more expensive models. I would recommend this mixer for those who need a large, powerful mixer with a stand, but with flexibility to be used as a hand mixer for every day use.

    Love my new mixer
    I purchased the Sunbeam Mixmaster 12 speed to replace my 40 yr old one that was on its last legs. I was very satisfied with my old one but the new one has some features that I really like; the lever to adjust the bowl placement without removing the bowl, the push button to remove the beaters, the lock to hold the head in the upright position, and there is no center bar in the beaters so cleaning them is much easier. It is also VERY quiet. I am loving it and, after my experience with my previous Sunbeam, expect it to last 40 years.

    Perfect for the everyday use
    I like this mixer because I don't need one all the time and my hand mixer usually meets my needs. But with the holidays coming I have been wanting to start baking, something I haven't done for years. I love the value of this; I didn't see the need to spend $200 on a mixer that I wasn't going to use like a professional. I love the slow start, really helps keep overspill and flour going everywhere. It does the work well, like the clean look of it, and again---the value was a big deciding factor.

    I gave this SUNBEAM mixer to my daughter for her 45th birthday.I have the confidence that the SUNBEAM brand still has the quality that it did when i was a kid myself. My mother had a SUNBEAM mixer from when i can remember till she died at age 87. She beat everything in the world in that mixer(including one of her fingers-"not reccominded") and it worked very well.
