Clapper
Clapper the activated switch Works fantastic and helps assist lighting in Husband's bedroom to prevent falls in the dark room as he enters for bed. He claps and the light is on, gets into bed and claps and light goes out. A great safety feature. If awake during sleep hours he can do the same and see to get up. Helps prevent falls instead of fumbling around. He is fighting Parkinson's with alot of difficulty walking.

Misleading Commercials!
Commercials show elderly people clapping their hands two times to activate the device, when in fact it takes 3 claps in a "certain rhythm" (no big deal you would think!). I tried it on all sensitivity settings. I thought it would be good when coming in at night to turn on the light, but it only worked within 5 feet of the device. My door is 15 feet away. I don't know what they did to change this, but many years ago I had one and it was as easy as clapping your hands together and it worked from across a good sized room...but NOT anymore... Their technology has gone backwards... I returned mine,...thinking of looking for a competitors device now.

    Doesn't Always Work
Bought this for an older person, thinking it would be very easy. Instead, it was frustrating because it didn't work all the time. You have to clap at just the right volume and speed. You can adjust volume sensitivity but that didn't help. Ended up getting a remote controlled outlet, worked perfectly.

Really like not having to get up and turn off the light or TV, once in bed. Took a couple miss-claps before got the hang of it, but in about ten seconds, I had it mastered. Really, really, really like. As an added bonus, to me, I didn't know I could hook up two appliances. My only regret is taking so long to buy one.

    Different Packaging then pictured!
If you order this in the Black Star Wars box it will not come that way. I got this for a gift and I'm a little annoyed that the packaging is not what it shows in the picture.

    Not just a Gag gift
My husband and I have enjoyed ours for years. Just bought them for the kids. They were very excited and they like not having to get out of bed in the dark. Just have to keep doors shut because sometimes one kid will clap off another kids light. There rooms are separated by a hallway.

    Great little device
This clapper does more than I expected, you can plug in up to two electronic devices and control them with 2 or 3 claps depending on which device you choose to turn on or off. You can also set it on "away" and it will turn on plugged in device (lamp for example) with any nice at all.

    Cool Grandpa!
I am surprised that it really does work, it's about 85% effective. Some times it misses a clap and you have to start over or get closer. But all and all it does what I wanted, I built a play room for my grand kids and all the accent lighting comes on with two claps. The main light is three claps. ( a feature I didn't plan on). So the kids can be in their bunk beds and CLAP CLAP and turn on lights to get up in the morning. They think it's cool! Cool grandpa!

    Works great
Because of the furniture arrangement it's awkward to get to a couple of table lamps in our home. I bought a Clapper elsewhere a little while ago and it worked out so well that I bought this second one online here and it works even better. The two are slightly different in appearance but work exactly the same. My wife has mobility issues and these are a godsend.

Works but not as great as I thought.
The clapper does work but, you almost have to be right on top of it before it will activate or turn off the lights. The one in my den, if I am sitting in my chair, it will not work. I have to almost have a direct line of sound or it will not function. The same goes for the one in our bedroom. If we are layiong in our bed on our back and try to use it, it will not work. Have to roll on my side to see the clapper and then it will work.
