Great Charger/Jump Starter
This jump starter comes with the jumper cables, a car charger and a house charger, plus a bag to store it in that has a wrist strap. It has a USB port for charging cell phones and other portable devices. It has a lighted battery level indicator. It also has a reverse connection protection and short-circuit protection built in and the clamps and chargers are also reverse protected. It has a rubberized outer casing (outside edge only) to absorb shock and impact (if dropped, I assume). It also has a built-in flashlight that can stay on steady or flash. I have found that the flash light is not easy to turn on or off. The instructions indicate that you need to hold the power button constant, but push it twice to get the flashlight on and off. I have tried several different ways to do this and to be honest, I don’t know how I managed to get it to turn on and off. I even had my sister try and she had the same trouble. However, once it does come on, it is very bright. I think this is jump starter is a great idea. You don’t have to wait for AAA or a stranger to help jump start your car and it’s easy to use. However, if you have time, you can simply charge your car battery with this unit. Seriously, even if you are not mechanically inclined, you can use this jump starter. It has detailed instructions on how to use it. I would certainly recommend this item for men, women and teens – no children!

Great Idea, But Not This Product
First off, not sure if this is WalMart's doing or not, but check out the title for this item - "Multi-'Funciton'". Something tells me this came from the manufacturer of this product, because that is how the instruction manual is written. More on that in a moment. As a former Chevrolet Certified Master Auto Technician, I know a thing or two about jump starting vehicles. Frankly, when these type of devices first came on the market I was skeptical of how much power they could really have to jump start cars. But, having now seen them in action I am a believer. So, great idea and amazing technology that can pack this much punch into a relatively small package (about the size of 2 packs of cigarettes). That said, this unit is lacking. First, instructions are overall easy to read and follow but when it gets to critical parts, like actually jump starting a vehicle they are sadly lacking. The instructions do accurately provide the correct safety information about always connecting the cables in the right order. But, they make a big deal about the "clamp button" that is on the side of the adapter that the actual cables are connected to. Then, after providing all kinds of warnings about what not to do, the description of how to actually use it is impossible to understand. This is really the first place that it becomes apparent that the instructions were written in a language other than English and then translated (poorly). Unfortunately, whatever the importance of this "clamp button" is lost in the translation, literally. Imagine, "See Run Spot", but worse. Huge mistake and quite possibly is going to lead to someone getting injured. Beyond that, and this is a real pet peeve of mine, they do provide a case to fit all these components into to. But, good luck! Would it kill a manufacturer to give you just a little more space? Everything will fit but it has to go in only a certain way and even then is really tight. The unit does come with a house charger, car charger, a decent flashlight mode and the ability to charge other electronic devices that can connect through a USB cable. I have not run into a dead battery yet, although I have no doubt the unit will work for that. Good idea, but poor execution from this Company.

    Charger works great!
    I order the Everstart Lithium Battery Jump Starter to have as an emergency backup in my car. Having a car with 130K+ miles problems can always arise so this adds a sense of security should I ever had a dead battery where assistance is not available. This jump starter comes with a wall and car charger. It was partially charged when it arrived. I plugged it in overnight and had a full charge in the morning. One of my concerns about having a device like this (especially keeping it in the trunk) was that the charge would be gone when I would need to use it. I checked it after two weeks and the still showed as fully charged but I will keep monitoring this. I was actually able to try out the charging capabilities. I ran my battery down a few days ago, my engine would not turn over and eventually the battery died so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to see if this battery could give a charge. I followed the directions, plugging in the cables first into the starter port, making sure the alarm beeped and then attaching to my battery and it actually worked!! My car started! I was thoroughly impressed and will be monitoring the length of time it holds the charge so if needed again it will be ready. The battery also has a flashlight which also serves as an emergency flasher and a USB port as well. I did not have as good of luck with the flashlight. According to the directions you are supposed to push the power button twice to turn it on. Sometimes it comes on, sometimes it does not. Because this also serves as an emergency flasher, if the flashlight won’t go on then the emergency flasher also won’t work. But, the primary reason for this was for the battery charger so I am giving it a thumbs up. I only gave it a 4 instead of a 5 due to the light not working all the time.

    Tested against 3 liter engine.
    Tested out the Everstart Multi-Function Jump Starter & Battery Charger against both a 3-liter engine and riding mower system this weekend. Out of the box you receive 110 to 12-volt wall charger as well as 12 to 12-volt car accessory charger. The battery came 50% charged and was topped off to 100% in one and a quarter hour. I’d therefore assume the manufacturer’s indicated charging time is correct. The 3 liter requires a 500 CCA battery to start at 50 degrees. I removed the battery cables and attached the Everstart, the car turned over with no problem, this I did 3 times until I noticed a noticeable lag in the engine turning over. I then successfully straight jumped my riding mower B&S 14 hp as the installed battery hadn’t been used in a month would not even crank. I finally charged my Droid Maxx phone from 5 to 100% and this left the Everstart battery at approximately 30% usable charge. The LED flashlight (0.5 watt) still worked fine and I’m confident I could have charged several more phones. All in all not bad performance for a portable charger this size (6.5x3”). I’d be confident placing this in the spouse’s car or one of the kids. The short circuit protection is a nice touch as a friend just recently ruined his mower by crossing the cables! Yes I’d recommend this to a friend!

    Unbelievable
    I am quite the skeptic when it comes to so-called amazing products, and was a huge doubter as to the function of this product and others like it, that claim to have all this power in such a small package. My skepticism is grounded in reality, as I was a professional car audio installer for 9 years, doing everything from simple speaker replacement to competition-winning stereo systems, both of sound quality and SPL. However, I got out of the game quite some time ago, and apparently battery technology has evolved SIGNIFICANTLY. I decided I would put this to the ultimate test. I have my old SPL van, with two batteries, upgraded alternator, and 8-15" subwoofers. This thing eats power continuously, and it's sat for a while, so both batteries were about 99% dead. I took this out to the van, and before I did anything, I turned the key and the gauges barely even flickered. No dome lights, nothing. I hooked this up, turned the key, and it started with absolutely no issues. I was completely floored. I also have one of those roll-around chargers that you plug into the wall, and it has a 200 amp boost setting for starter assist. That unit WOULD NOT start this vehicle, but this little battery pack that fits in your glovebox cranked it like nothing was wrong. Hence the reason for titling this as "unbelievable." because I really could not believe that it had that much cranking ability. It comes with a wall charger, car charger, and a cloth carrying case, which also has a handle built into it to make it easier to carry. It also has a built in flashlight which has two settings, steady on, or flashing. On the side of the unit, it has a 5v usb outlet so you can charge your phone or any other usb-powered items. It made a believer out of this skeptic. Now I just need to keep one in every car!

    Good Small Booster
    Its not often that your battery goes dead so this will sit quite often but being a mechanic i have to deal with dead batteries more often, I tested it quite a few times and here is what i found out. If the battery is completely dead (no lights or power) it does not have enough power to get the vehicle running due to most new vehicles have alot of electronics in them. on cars that have a low battery(lights but not enough power to turn the starter) it may give the battery enough power to get it going. out of the times i used it, the jump starter was only able to get the motor running 1/3 of the time. this is no flaw in the jump starter its just not big enough. this does not have the power of a larger jumper box. These tests are also done in good weather, when its cold the engine will be harder to start. This will not work on most diesel trucks due to them having dual batteries. Id recommend just buying a good set of jumper cables. Most people are close enough to someone else to give them a jump start. Onto the other features. The light is actually pretty bright, just alittle more powerful than the light you have on your smartphone and the 2amp usb hookup is very handy. This booster actually makes a better portable usb charger since it will last forever almost 3X the the MaH of my small portable phone charger. p.s. the included carry bag ripped open so its useless now

    great little jump starter
    The Everstart multi-function jump starter is packed with features. It is a jump starter, USB device charger, and flashlight. The jump starter needs to be connected and disconnected in a specific order. It would have been nice if the instructions were printed directly on the unit as the paper instructions could get dirty or lost. The flashlight is bright and also comes with a blinking feature. This would be helpful when you have to pull over on the side of the road at night and want to make sure other vehicles see you. You have to press the power button twice to turn it on which is a bit strange. The storage pouch should have been a little bigger since there are so many accessories to stuff in there. They recommend charging the battery every three months to ensure it has enough juice. It has a handy LED indicator on the side to indicate the current charge. It even uses different colored LEDs to show when it has enough charge to jump a car. The jump starter can be charged by plugging into a wall outlet or into a cigarette lighter. I don’t see a use case for charging the battery from a cigarette lighter. If my car were dead, I would rather have my friend jump my car than charge my jump starter to then jump my car.

    Handy little device
    When I received this from the Sparks review team I was very intrigued about how well it would or would not work. I must say I was not disappointed. We already have an all inclusive jump starting system but it is rather heavy and cumbersome, but there are times when I wish we had it while out and about. This compact unit fills the bill. There are lots of nice features that come with this durable little gem. The housing has a rubber protector that would help in case the unit is accidentally dropped but still, if that happened I would check for cracks or leaks and discontinue use if it Is dropped. There is a flashlight included which is also very nice, a USB port for connecting any other devices and there is also short circuit protection built into the unit. There is a detailed instruction sheet to show you how to correctly connect the unit when jump starting a vehicle. We have an 1998 van that, when I left the lights on, drained the battery fairly quickly. I followed the instructions and had no problem getting it started. The unit comes with a home charger as well as a car charger, another nice convenience. It also has its own carry case which I keep the unit and the clamps in. I have another little stash bag that I keep the chargers in. Very nice unit and I would recommend.

    nice compact jump starter
    This is a nice compact unit that comes with a pouch to keep it in. You need to charge it when it arrives for about 4 to 6 hours. Then you are suppose to charge it every 3 months. You can either charge this in the house or you can charge it in your car. This unit has to be connected to the battery with the cables on the unit. You can not plug this unit into the cig. lighter to jump start the car like some of the models. It also has a flash light, and intermittent flashers for safety. It also has a USB port for charging computers and phones. What I like about this one is that it is nice and compact and it goes back nicely into the pouch it comes with for storage and it does not take up much room. This unit is a quick shot I will call it that will put juice in your battery so that it will have enough juice to jump start it. Not for recharging our boat batteries like some of the boosters are. I like this unit as I am not afraid of it as I hate jumper cables and this for me is easier to put on the battery then the jumper cables between two cars. I also like that you can charge up your phones or i pads as If I break down and my phone is dead at least I know I can give my phone a boost also. I seriously hope I never have to use this Jump Started but, if I do at least I know I have this in my vehicle and don't have to try to find another vehicle to start my car.

    Handy Must have in EVERY Vehicle
    This Ever Start Lithium Battery Multi Function Jump Starter was a very welcomed surprise when it arrived. Both my husband and myself were very curious as we read all the printed material enclosed as well as on the package. What we liked was the size, it is only 6 1/2 "long, 3 " wide and 1 " thick. It comes with all you need as in photo, to jump a dead battery on a car. It has a a very easy to understand connection that anyone can do and not stress over making a mistake. As show in my photo the connector fits only one way into a slot on the battery pack, covered by a piece of rubber to help keep it clean and free from debris. The cables easily fit snugly into the slot and the red and black jumper cables are clearly marked as is any battery as negative and positive. A handy flash light is located in the best possible place in the event us need this in the dark, and I'd guess would be easily over half of the time. This little handy product can also be used in power outages to charge various electronics as tablets and lap tops. Yes it has a USB port. It also has a plug you can use in any so called cigarette lighter! I can see this being a must have for hikers, fishermen and women, camping. Just as an addition safety item in every vehicle. There is a battery level indicator on the side that is called LED Power Indicator. It tells you clearly in red and blue how charged this unit is. So when low, you may charge it at home with an AC plug, or as I mentioned in your car. Very handy. It all fits very neatly in a black and red trimmed sturdy bag with a 6 " looped handle. It say that would be a great way to hang it it the garage for easy access, or to help carry all your parts when needed to use especially in the dark. I cannot imagine the money this neat item can save people who find they have a dead battery after work, or on their way to work. No more tow trucks or begging a friend to come and jump start your vehicle. I'd be very happy to give this as a gift to anyone, especially ladies. A great invention.
