Great cell phone. I like this flip-type phone because 1) only the outside shell is subject to getting scratched, and 2) you can pick-up and hang-up by simply opening and closing the flip. Of course, the flip also extends the distance between the speaker and the microphone for a more natural fit. The vibration feature is also terrific when you are in an environment where the ringer would either be inappropriate or difficult to hear. One thing about activating the phone: the procedure is not quite as simple and obvious as it sounds. For example, you are not actually told how you are supposed to find out what your new assigned phone # is -- they just assume you realize that your new # has been downloaded to your phone during the activation process, and that you are supposed to find out this # by diving into the phone's menu system. If you can have an experienced user with you during this process, it would save a lot of aggravation. All in all, I love this phone and the pre-paid service.

I called Tracfone due to msg. on phone. Customer Service had me enter codes which failed to function in phone. Rcv'd text msg- Return call to Tracfone C.S. later given new codes by a technician (who returned my call) which allowed phone to function properly. Total time on home phone about 45 minutes. Phone now operates properly.

I had to enter numerous codes multiple times plus I had an issue with my purchased time card. But TracFone customer service ,after multiple conversations, did resolve my activation issues. I am happy to report that LG23C is working fine and is a GREAT VALUE, thanks Walmart and TracFone.ezriderman

After showing her the basic operation, she felt very comfortable using the phone. She did not want a cell that locks you into a contract. Pay as you go was right up her alley. If you don't need all the bells and whistles, this is an excellent choice. However, this phone does have some of the latest features, i.e. texting, a camera.
