Sometimes "less is best". This cover is not too bulky and heavy. It is much easier to handle and makes washing it much less complicated. It is priced well so the budget challenged can also enjoy using it, which Wal-Mart always respects.

There is nothing soft about this mattress "pad". It was so thin I could see thru it. I was afraid to try and fit it on my bed for fear it would come apart at the seam perforations. Also the corner pockets are only about 6-8 inches deep. I promptly returned it.

    Its a cover or a thick bed sheet
    Thin Flimsy and already shedding its little white balls of puff (lint) I can still feel the rough bed mattress So i added 2 sheets under the Pad It is Not worth the amount it costs

    A okay mattress pad......
    Not as thick as I thought but does make the bed a little more comfortable to sleep on. Before I could feel the coils and now it isn't as bad with this on. I would recommend spending the extra money and getting a thicker pad.

    Good price for the item. I used to buy the one piece waterproof mattress pad, but when I needed to wash the material side,the vinyl side would rip. Now I buy a waterproof vinyl cover and a mattress pad separately. No more torn vinyl and I can wash the mattress pad.

    Just a touch of added Pad
    My landlord requires mattress encasements on mattresses (to prevent bed bug issues), and putting satin sheets over vinyl encasements made bed very uncomfortable and cold. For my purposes, this was a very inexpensive way to add both protection to the expensive vinyl encasements, and make the bed more comfortable. For my purposes I wasn't looking to add a lot of padding, but to add a layer of protection and comfort to my bedding, and this worked very nicely. Unlike other bulky pads I've owned before, this one is quite light weight, and therefor easier to launder in a small apartment washer (other pads I had had to go to laundry, as they were too bulky for a standard washer. If your looking to add padding to an aging mattress, this probable will disappoint, and as other reviews show, they are not for moisture protection, as they are perforated to add air flow, but as a basic lightweight mattress pad, they are affordable, and do the job.

    Quilted on top/sides but very thin and perforated
    I kept it for a spare mattress pad and it fits well, even after washing. The thing it is thin and has perforations all the way through. I guess that is to allow the mattress to "breath" but it also decreases the protection it provides. The $6.99 they have in the store is of equal thickness, so you would be better buying two of those and stacking them then this one.
