this is the best killer box to buy first of all it is hooded so the less of the smell of poop in the aroma of urine goes out into the room if you live in a small apartment. I always put my cat litter box by a window never in the bathroom never in the pantry never in a closed area has to have some circulation. the top of the box has a filters which is charcoal this absorbs the urine and the poop smell this is the best litter box that you could ever buy.

    not worth it for the new price-Flimsy
    this litter box is okay, kinda flinsy for its large size. this makes it a little ify to move or dump, no one wants a box full of dirty litter floping out of their hands. sides wobble and bend with the weight of the litter, clips are a pain to get snapped into place like it doesnt quite line up right. it wasnt a terrible deal at $17.50, but 2 days later i got online to order another and they have jumped to $22, they are definitely NOT worth that much! off to look at chewy for a possibly more expensive but more sturdy box.

    Don't buy this product. Cheap and clasps break.
    I don't know why this is even rated as high as it appears to be, but just like most every other review says, the plastic is extremely thin and cheap and the clasps just plain DO NOT WORK. Good luck picking it up by the handle and moving it from one spot to another without even ANY cat litter in it. The clasps will come undone and the bottom will start falling. If you have litter in it, don't even try. You're going to lose the bottom and/or break the clasps. I will be returning this. I'm extremely disappointed.

    One clip is missing. zIt is also broken in one corner. I paid enough for it. It should arrive unbroken.

    BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT PURCHASE
    BUYER BEWARE: Do NOT purchase this litter box. The clamps on the hood do not work. The clamps do not properly attach the hood to the base. The litter box cannot be lifted or moved by the handle. DO purchase the Van Ness covered litter box. My Van Ness litter box lasted almost ten years. I returned this faulty litter box to purchase another Van Ness Litter box.

    Tl;dr They're flimsy, a clip broke, a handle broke, two latches wouldn't latch, and the door occasionally won't open leading to freaked out cats. They'll work in a pinch but buy a better brand if you're looking to use them more than a couple of weeks. I bought one of these and then bought another a week later to replace my 10 year old covered litter boxes. They're awful. One of the clips that holds the lid to the base broke off immediately on the first one when I got to the house and put it together. It appeared that there was some residual plastic left from the molding process that wouldn't let it clip correctly so when I did try to clip it, it broke instead. Even with the broken clip issue I figured that probably wouldn't happen again so I bought another box. Brought that one home and went to swap out the other old box and two sides wouldn't stay clipped. I could get them to latch but the second I tried to move the litterbox they'd come undone and risk litter being spilled everywhere. Today the handle on the second box broke. Another issue I'm having with both boxes is because they're so flimsy, if the lid isn't setting just at the perfect angle, the door won't open properly. One night I heard a bunch of noise and figured out it was one of my cats panicking because she couldn't get out because the lid was slightly ajar so the door wouldn't swing out. Thankfully that doesn't happen often but if they were made sturdier it wouldn't happen at all. I figure I'll use these for a little while and then buy some of a different brand because these are absolute trash. I gave them one star because they are indeed litter boxes and another star because they do cut down on smell.

    Think outside the box. Make great birthing beds
    Normally my cats have to have the lid off their cat box. Now in saying that let me give you a heads up on another way to use these. I bought 2 of these for my 2 very pregnant females to give birth. In and they loved them. They could go in and out the flap and felt protected. Another thing to do if using these as birthing beds take out the filters and put away for later and set heavy books.. I used 3 encyclopedias on top making sure not to cover the air holes... Because if you use them as a birthing bed without the books they will tip over. Use the books and they're sturdy. When the kittens are big enough you can put the filters in and fill them with cat litter...ta da... Double use.

    Disappointed at the quality of the plastic and design, the lid does not latch down tightly to form a seal with the base and if you have a cat that is a "high-riser" as they urinate the urine flows down the inside wall onto the litter pan bottom ledge where the top meets and then right outside and underneath the litter box. Very poor plastic latches - flimsy, handle is flimsy to pick it up and move it. Overall a very bad design if you have a female or a male cat that is a high-riser. Van Ness Giant Cat Litter Box is made far better than this one so I am going back to that one.
