Green Picture and No Sound
Turned the tv on and everything was greenish. Tried to adjust settings, used different devices, still green. No sound at all either. Changed to surround sound, checked mute and volume buttons and no change. Took it back and bought a TCL tv that's awesome.

    Great TV for the Price
    I read all reviews before purchasing 2 of these during Black Friday sales. I thought most negative feedbacks are not relevant and realistic. If the TV is unfortunately dead out of the box, probably not JVC's fault but due to a freight shipping method. 2 of my units arrived within 3 days and the TV's were in perfect condition even their carton boxes were slightly damaged. You cannot expect to pay 300 for a 55in ultra 4K and ask for tons of extra such as 'smart', 'theater sound', etc. You should read and understand the specs and able to compare with other TV's & prices. Only one thing I'd I do admit this model lacks of aspect modes which they would not be able to scale the input signal (only wide and normal available). This can be a little tricky for those who stream internet contents via an external devices with Kodi. Many decent and cheap external spkrs intentionally designed and built to add sound to these Slim TV's so you should look into it and stop complaining (ALL slim TV's have poor sound - I do have a high-end model that has 16 spkrs builtin the bazel. It still doesn't give me a great sound but costs 1K extra) Note: JVC is a major respected Japanese electronic corporation (owned by Panasonic & Kenwood). You are buying one of its products. It's not RCA, Emerson, TLC, UpStar, ProScan, Avera, Seiki, GPX, etc.

    Great picture!
    The television itself is very nice. The picture is very clean. The 4k looks amazing. However the sound is trash. It sounds like its coming out of a tin can. But most people these days have some sort of surround sound system or sound bar so if you do that's a non issue. But if you don't just be prepared for that. I mean its okay. You can hear it fine. Its just not very good. So I give it a four out of five for that. Its super light as well.

    Nice Tv for the price
    This is a good tv for the price. The sound is ok, we have a home theater system hooked up so not a big concern. The description of this tv said it is a smart tv, sadly it is not

    Wonderful quality
    Wonderful picture but the sound is off putting. For a huge TV with crystal clear picture in high definition it sounds like you're in a box. A sound bar will help or if you have surround sound it would be awesome!!! Would definitely recommend!

    Good TV
    The only thing so far holding me back from saying that this is an excellent TV is the slight delay with HDMI handshaking. I have an AV receiver that I run everything through that connects to the TV. Switching between sources, ie. going from the Cable box to the blu ray player or the 4K blu ray player, or the Roku causes a 2-3 sec "No Signal" delay. The signal is always found, but my prior TVs either never had this problem, or were just plain faster with the handshake. Either way, for the price, I live with it. Color is great out the box. My adjustments didn't really change much. Sound is decent. No dead pixels on mine. Longevity is the only question mark, so I bought the extended warranty for another 3 years peace of mind. This is not the olden days Japanese JVC of yesteryear, but a licensed Chinese product with the JVC name. So far it is a good TV, that , if it holds up over time, will be a great value.
