So far so good----appropriate for the low price.
Ours arrived on time and had none of the damage issues others have reported. The parts went together easily. The instructions page was more than adequate. I think you have to be realistic about how much weight this rack can bear. It's pretty light weight. It will be plenty strong for our purposes--bulky trailer camping equipment such as camp chairs. We'll likely follow the suggestion made by another buyer: sealing the pipe junctions with RTV epoxy to help avoid moisture getting inside. Looks good so far.

I bought this looking into the previous review which looks okay. However, it became rusty in a couple of weeks. I had to remove it as it spread rust on my roof and everywhere.

You get what you pay for. Go buy a Thule or Yakima
Quality is honestly crap. You get what you pay for. Its been only a few months and its already faded and beat up looking. I have never even put anything in it yet. Just looks like garbage now.

After over a year, it looks
I bought this over a year ago. Our vehicle has rails on the top of the car but we have a huge window right between the rails so this was a must. it has worked out perfectly for us. we use a soft sided cargo bag in it as well as a hard shell cargo carrier (the sears x-cargo topper white one). It is very sturdy, no rust

Cheaply made but also cheaply priced
So, a lot of people complaining about the quality of this rack. Yes it has quite a few defects and flaws but it's the cheapest you'll find a rack this size. Right out of the box mine had a couple of pretty bad dents on the tubes and one of the tubes I had to pry open with a large screwdriver because it got squished a bit. Most of the welds are poorly done and the paint is scuffed or very thin in some spots. That being said there are a few things you can do to prolong the life of the rack. During assembly I used black RTV at all of the junction points to keep out water. I used RTV because it's more durable than black silicone. When assembling the middle rack I put marine heat shrink tubing on the bars and after assembly I heated the tubing up to seal them. Where the small tubes are welded to the larger tubes to form the sides I also filled them with RTV to keep rain water out. Those little tubes have drain holes but it's better to prevent the water from getting in at all. I sealed all the bolt heads with RTV as well. The spots where paints was scuffed or missing I sprayed with black enamel paint and put a clear coat over it. No matter what this thing will get scuffed from me throwing lawn chairs and other stuff up on the roof and eventually rust out, but this should hopefully get me a few years of use out of it.

    Happy campers
Package came a whole week earlier then anticipated and Im blown away at how picture perfect it came out on top of my 2016 Kia Sorento. Every time I pull over or take it out for a spin people are always commenting and asking where I got it. Of course I always put it out there that Walmart always has the deals. Cant be any happier with my purchase thank you for making me and my families life so much easier for our camping trips. P.S on the freeway there isnt much wind noise but there is a tiny bit of vibration toward the rear but its very minimum to nearly unnoticeable which is to be expected otherwise vehicles would already sell them from factory with a roof basket.

    poor hardware choice
Overall it seems sturdy and was easy to assemble. The instructions were garbage but weren't really needed. Appearance is good and clean. The only real problem I have so far is the hardware. The u bolts and castle nuts stick way too high. I plan on using this for camping and will have to be careful when loading gear.

    Absolute Trash DO NOT BUY
Absolute trash do not buy. Splurge and get yourself a real offroad rack. Let me explain. Mine came all scratched up and bent, its a very cheap thin steel. I could have made one with my welder that would have cost less and would have been stronger than this trash. 33x12.5R17 inflated 38psi put it in the rack drove around 2 days it already bowed and is bent. literally the rack is tack welded together. Material is trash, paint is trash, and durability is trash. Don't get me started on the hardware, get ready to stand in line at home depot. They give you 8x cheap plastic wing nuts to hold the rack to your factory rack. Hopefully you get good ones, or not just go get your own hardware only because these things are so cheap and sometimes dont even thread correctly and you dont want to force thread them because yah PLASTIC WING NUTS. Absolute trash shouldve listened to the reviews better if I could give it 0 stars I would.

    Excellent Value
It was very easy to assemble! Looks great! Not a super heavy duty rack, but will be good for luggage light items. Excellent value!!
