Not Universal
These speaker stands do not fit all speakers. Walmart recommended this item for the Vizio soundbar I was purchasing from them. The stands are extremely thin and the wires for my vizio soundbar would not fit inside them. Also beware that this item ships from a third party and you return at your own expense, and the item cannot be returned to the store. The item is so heavy shipping back costs only a few dollars less than what I paid for the item, so not worth it!!! Disappointed that this item was recommended to go with the product I was purchasing, because it does not work for that product!!!!

You get what you pay for...
The assembly process - in particular the use of very small self tapping screws to hold the speaker bracket to the pole makes putting these together impossible without improvising. You need to screw through 3/8" plastic (pilot hole is much too small) to secure without a vice clamp and an enormous amount of effort with a screwdriver require some improvising. Assembly process aside, the bracket covers do not work in any orientation with my speakers. The first picture shows the condition of the set screw after giving up with the screwdriver and using plyers to tighten it (it almost broke) as well as the fact that the plastic bracket cover restricts access to the speaker outlet (when rotated 180deg the pole covers the outlet). The second picture shows how the plastic bracket cover sticks up above the speaker when positioned horizontally. Finally, the base of the stand is 2 pieces (beauty cover weight) and is also poorly designed.

    Could be better, but
I searched everywhere for adjustable stands for my Minimus 7s and kept seeing these as the only option. Of course Monoprice had the best price with delivery. These stands do get the job done just know these are meant to be set up and left alone. The speaker mount is all plastic instead of metal, and the stand metal is thin. Wire can be hidden inside stand, just thread from the top. The kit includes hardware for keyhole and thread speakers mounts. Instructions are clear and assembly is easy.

    Adequate stands for the price
I bought these specifically for a set of Klipsch speakers (Reference Theater Pack). I wanted a secure fit and these stands seemed appropriate given the various mentions of 1/4" x20 screws in the description and some answers by staff in the reviews. Well, if you look at the packing list in the user's manual, there are no such screws.... I still managed my installation because I found an appropriate set of screws in my spares box. This said: * on one of the sets (I got 2), the bracket was hard to fit on top of the pole (didn't go all the way to the lip). I could still secure with the screw. * since a 1/4" x20 screw does not fit in the M4 or M5 holes, I had to use the hole meant for the speaker wire, so I just looped it around from the back of the pole (see pic). * I feel fortunate that I didn't have to raise these too high because they are not super stable on carpet. Adding something rigid underneath helps. Optional spikes would be nice. * the first post had a bur or ridge inside that made it difficult to get speaker wire through (kept getting stuck). So I fed the wire from the "top" instead. The only trouble with that is that you have to run the entire length through. Again, since I used the bracket speaker wire hole for my mounting screw, I didn't push the wire all the way to the top but used the small opening in the back of the post instead (less cable exposed). * the 3rd picture (as of my review date) shows the thumb nut facing the speaker. That's incorrect if you are using it for a keyhole mount. The thumb nut should be under the plastic cover so you can tighten with your thumbs (see instructions). I suspect people that broke the adjustment ring overtightened. It's plastic. Tighten just enough to get a proper grip. Shouldn't need too much for a 5lb speaker (max weight). Overall, for the price (on sale when I got them), the stands did the job. I mostly wish the description was more accurate.... Note: the attached picture does not feature the cover. You can see the top of the screw in the wire hole (bottom). These speakers are fairly deep and that didn't help with overall stability.

    Vizio
These stands dont really work for vizio speakers. The wires dont fit through the stand. Which was fine for me because I put the speakers behind the couch. I had to go to Home Depot for rubber washers to make the mount attach to the speakers. Overall a good stand if it works for your brand.

    Rear speaker stands
Very good quality for the cost. Easy to assemble. We're used with Samsung speakers which have a keyhole mounting and a strange back surface. Was easy to attach to stands. Did the job I expected. Would recommend to anyone.
