Beautiful piece
I LOVE this bookshelf! The colors are perfect - and are great for a modern farmhouse vibe in your home. I plan on getting another one of these to put in my sun room and put all of my plants on! It's sturdy, heavy, and the design is beautiful (and it looks like it would cost a lot more than it does)! This review is part of a paid collaboration with Walmart. All opinions are my own.

Meh....
First off, this took 6 weeks to arrive, despite what it said when I first ordered. I have a larger version for my living room (not BHG). This arrived with bent brackets and scratches on the poles. You cannot change them around to avoid showing scratches as there are predrilled holes that affect directional ability. The scrolling at the top isnt solid, its pieced together. I love my latger puece and though this was comprable but its not. The person that said its equivalent to RH is mistaken. Would purchase elsewhere if had to buy again. It holds books, so it functions but not impressed

    Nice look and good value
    Love the size for my bathroom. It updated the look for not that much money. The shelves look nice even though they are not real wood. It is sturdy especially for what I wanted it for.

    Perfect for my home office
    I really love how this looks in my home office. It went together easily and the quality is very good. I found the same product at other vendors for twice the price. I have 2 pieces of this collection (5 shelf bookcase and the console) and they are both fantastic!

    I never write reviews, but I just had to because this shelf is so great! In my opinion, it is comparable to one at Restoration Hardware that sells for $1350--for 1/10 of the price, these shelves do not look cheap to me at all (and I am picky about quality). Very sturdy, looks like real weathered wood. I even put it together myself (which I never do!) in under one hour, although my husband had to drive the screws in with his electric drill at the end so that they would be in all the way. I purchased two and have no regrets--feels like I just did a remodel in my master bath! Baskets on top shelves in picture are also from Walmart.com for ~$7.99!

    Great - especially for the price
    After looking at several places for this style bookshelf for my son's room , I was delighted to find this for the price. It was easy to assemble and looks great. My only complaint is that the end of one shelf had a nick in the plywood out of the box.

    This looks great, assembly was not complicated and shelf is very sturdy. It is a heavy shelf and really looks nice in our kitchen. Using it for oversize serving pieces.

    There are a few items in the River Crest collection and this bookshelf is my favorite. It looks like a much more expensive piece from a high end furniture store. It has the look of a reclaimed oak and an antique zinc metal. I have set up this item as part of a display and the nice thing is you can leave it free standing in a room, it looks good from the front or the back. You don't need to have it up against a wall if you don't want to (although that would look great too!) It is nice to have the option. It looks beautiful when you can see the X in the back. If I had the space, I'd like to get two of these shelves to place side by side.

    WOW Restoration Aesthetic for Walmart PRICE!
    I work at Walmart.com and Better Homes and Gardens is in the offices having a contest which I am participating in to win this piece of furniture. Funny enough I am moving into a new apartment next week and I have been looking all over for a piece just like this! I cannot believe the price points on this item. Everywhere I have looked I have found 300+$ for something comparable. There is a very similar piece at Restoration retailing for between $700-1045. I was really surprised by how much better this item looks in person! The photo doesn't do it justice, the photograph shows the piece and being lighter/ more yellow than what the color is in person. Personally I was delighted to see this in person because the colors are much nicer! The wood is a little darker and has a taupe gray finish to it. This piece would work very well with anything that is industrial or classical in design. I love how sturdy the piece is, you can really feel and see the quality of the piece- This is a very high end aesthetic for a Walmart PRICE! I also love the finishing of the wood, I am always hesitant about the finishes looking nice, but Better Homes and Gardens knocked it out of the park on this. I would absolutely love to have this piece in my home! It's really elegant and no one needs to know it only costs $169... still can't believe the price.
