Thinking outside of the Box
As you can see from the photo I was thinking outside of the normal use for this item. I had been think of some way to help cool down this room due to the Western sun making it rather hot. This film does that which can be felt by placing the back of you hand next to the window before and after installation. The installation instructions were not that hard to follow and the trick of using the two pieces of tape to separate the film from the protective layer was nice. And any one who has tried to take protective film off can appreciate the note. As the instructions say make sure and keep the adhesive side of the film as wet as possible this will help to move the film around and if you run into the problem of the film curling up on you or the adhesive side sticking to its self this will make it easier to pull apart. Also, I would suggest in reference of the film curling up on itself that you lay the film out flat and let sit for a day or two before use or at least after rough cutting the shapes needed.

Apply indoors or on still day!
Film was difficult to separate from protective film. Also, it wrinkled and stuck to itself too easy. Tint level and color were decent, but I would have returned this because we weren't able to apply it properly without wrinkles. There was a slight breeze in the air, which may have been to blame. In ideal conditions with two pairs of hands this might turn out OK, but we weren't able to keep it from wrinkling or to get it to stick properly. Would not recommend. If you do purchase, apply carefully indoors or on a very still day.

Black Magic Select Window Tint Film, 5% VLT
This is part one of the total kit that I used to tint the back side windows on the vehicle. There are two parts to the kit. 1 = the film and 2 = the application kit (spray bottle, packages of mix, squeegee, knife/blade, towel Follow the steps that are given in the instructions and you can have great looking tinted windows. Note that this is primarily for windows that are fixed into place. - Clean windows before using tint film - Cut a rough size just larger than the window you are tinting this will make it easier to control the film and get it where it is needed. - Use plenty of spray solution on the inside of the window you are going to apply the film for window tinting. - Once the film is where you want it, carefully squeegee from the center out to the edges, working your way around the window smoothing out water bubbles to the towards the edge of the window. - You will want to take your time to get all the spray solution worked towards and out the edge of the film/window edges. - Carefully trim the edges of the film that is not on the window viewing area with the kit's blade/knife. - Use the included towel to wipe genitally from the center outward on the film. - Check the view from the outside of the window for any bubbles left to smooth out. - Enjoy the new look. This kit has plenty of tinting film. I would suggest there is enough to do the side windows and back window with film to spare. Looks good as factory. Just remember to take your time, set-up and follow the directions on the packages.

    Good tinting material.
This window tint was very useful for much more than just car windows. It applied very well to other windows. Had very good quality tinting. Had a little trouble comprehending all the steps with instructions to complete application process. Wasn't very clear on specifics on all the steps. After application of product I was overall satisfied with the tinting. I did recieve this item in exchange for my honest opinion. The tint pictured is 5%

    Works great
This was super easy to use! It helps block out the bright sunlight and keeps my car cooler. I've also used this in my home as well. Works great on my bedroom window. Definitely has a cooler feel in my room. So it can be used for more than just for vehicle windows. And at a great value too! I recommend this product!

    5% Very Dark
I got this this Black Magic tint and the application kit because I had a couple of ideas for things I wanted to apply tint to. I did my homework and learned a lot prior to installing any of this tint. I initially wanted to use this tint on one of the windows inside my home. I just wanted to block out some of the light in my bathroom. Well, it turns out you shouldn't use this tint on double paned thermal windows. It can attract so much heat from sunlight it can damage your windows. It does warn you right in the instructions about that. The other idea I had was to put it on my cars side and rear windows. Well, I live in Pennsylvania. PA is pretty notorious for being strict on tint laws. The tint I got was 5%, too dark for PA. According to PA state laws, 70% is the limit. The way these tints are rated, the lower the number, the darker it will be. So I was unable to legally use it for my car. So what I did was install it on my motorcycle. Motorcycles don't need a windscreen and I never use it for anything other than blocking wind from hitting my upper body, I don't need to see through it. So I removed the windscreen from my motorcycle and applied the tint. It's pretty easy, although the instructions are terrible. They don't really go into enough detail. You can find installation videos online. What I did was clean the windscreen and dry it with a microfiber cloth. I then cut a cut a section off of the roll and took the backing off of it. Taking the backing off of the roll of tint was a nightmare, it took me forever to get it to peel off even using the two pieces of tape method. I learned the easiest way to peel it is to take two pieces of tape and put them on the same corner, one on each side, and when you pull them apart, the backing should come off. After that, spray the windscreen with the soapy water and apply the adhesive side to the inside of the windscreen. Then you just get the bubbles out using the squeegee starting from the middle and working your way out. At this point is when I trimmed mine, a lot of people working on cars do it before they apply it to the window. For me, this was easier. If you want to tint your own vehicle, this kit isn't that difficult to install, and it makes it easier if you have help. The tint itself is pretty decent, so I'm giving it 4 stars. I would recommend it if you're good at DIY type of stuff and you want to tint something for cheap.

    Keeping cool
My Husband said that the tint is good for keeping the sunlight out of your eyes and also keeps the car a little cooler on really hot days. He also said that the lower the percentage of the tint the darker it is so we won't be able to put it over the whole window maybe only halfway and not on the front window or the rear window because this tint is 5 %, so it is really dark. The higher the percentage the lighter the tint is.

    Wasn't as easy as others
The last time I tinted the windows in my previous car, I had better success. It seemed like the adhesion process was pretty straightforward. I really struggled with this tent as far as adhesion. On a positive note I love the depth of color I got the darkest one the 5%. It was exactly what I wanted. Because the adhesion was not working out and it was on my passenger windows I decided to give up and get another product. Not wanting to waste what I had left I made an attempt at a sun guard across my windshield on the inside and I absolutely love it. The adhesion on something that was that narrow was very straightforward and successful and it really makes my car look amazing. To do small pieces that you know you're not going to have an issue with I would totally use this product but I would upgrade if I wanted something to really stick well and to use for years on windows that go up and down etc

    Good quality film
I've used Black Magic tint on many occasions. One car is going on 4 years with 35% film used. This film holds up over time with less changing of darkness, or turning purple with age. The protective coating holds up well. It is still recommended to replace older dew wipes if the car has some age on it like my Mustang needed, before installing new tint. Even with the protective coating it cuts down on the life of the film. The old film had points where the dew wipes had rubbed the film off. That aside this film went on easy even in the rear window. Some cars this is the biggest challenge when applying tint. A good tip if you are replacing your tint, and you have old film you want off. Get a black garbage bag for each window spray the old tint with a large amount of windex. Put the bags in the window sealing the windex in and leave the car in the direct sunlight for a good portion of the day. Applying more soulution as needed. Works best in spring and summer. After that the old film should be falling right off with minimal glue left behind. Use alcohol to clean what little is left. Then you are ready for your new film install!

Good stuff if you know what you are doing.
I tinted one vehicle 20 plus years ago and figured I would try and tint my small back side windows of my truck. I chose this stuff because it was cheap and my buddy has had it on his truck for two years without fading or chipping. Take your time and use a lot (and I mean a lot) of spray and start with a super clean window and it works great! I also recommend watching some you tube videos before hand for some tips and tricks. Good luck!
