Black Magic - Tint 20% VLT
My state laws allows no more than 28% of VLT on a vehicle back window- I opted for the 20% tint. It's IMPERATIVE that you prepare / clean the glass, before applying the tint (after you THINK you've got the window clean - clean it again). I used a microfiber cloth & alcohol to scrub the back window clean - I should have cleaned it a 3rd time. It's not difficult to install the Cling Tint - the more prep time U do up front - the better it will look. Simply unroll the product, line the film up 'on the outside of the back window' and cut along the outline of the dark window defogger membrane with an exacto-type blade. I found when squeezing out the water, the film 'stretches' just a bit. So cutting ON THE LINE, and the stretch left no "gaps" when I was finished. It was "easy to apply", once you get a decent corner started, and begin squeegee-ing. Make sure you squeegee the hard to see tiny 'pockets of water' out to the edge, else they'll dry up in a couple of days, and leave a visible air pocket. * I had one area along the side (pictured) that had some stubborn air bubbles - I eventually rolled up a big towel under the squeegee (with some upward pressure).... the bubbles finally dried and stuck after about 15 minutes.... sweeet! I have only tinted the back window of my vehicle so far, but plan to do the back side windows B4 long - it'll definitely cut down on heat build up when the sun bears down this summer.

Easy To Apply! Works Great!
I was super excited to use this to tint the back window of my 2013 Toyota Camry. The car sits lower so headlights from the vehicles behind me always shine right into my car blinding me and now that everyone seems to have the LED or Blue lights it really bothers me!! The box stated there would be enough tint to either do your entire rear window or 2 rear side windows. Unfortunately, no matter how I tried to place the tint on the back window I could not get it to cover the entire window. I didn't want to tint the 2 rear side windows without having tint on the back window, I thought it would look funny. I plan to purchase a 2nd roll of tint to cover the rear window of the car. I went ahead and applied the tint to the sunroof just to see how well it would hold up and it does work really well! I followed the directions on the box and used the extra tip of applying water to the window itself and the tint to make it stick better and it worked great! Using the water allows you to be able to move the tint around to get it right where you want it and the bubbles come out really easily using a credit card or a squeegee. The tint has been on for several days now and it has not come loose. I used the 20% which is the perfect amount of light filtering for me. One of the downsides about the product is it's longer than it is wide so no matter what you're going to have to piece it together to cover the back window of the car but I watched a video on YouTube that shows you how to line it up just right so that the two pieces will meet on one of the defrost lines leaving it flawless looking. Overall it's a great product that is easy to use, reusable and will save you a lot of money by applying it yourself versus paying to have it professionally done. I would recommend it and plan to purchase more so I can use it as I intended.

    Easy Application!
    Insta-Cling® Window Film from Black Magic® is not just for automobiles. It can be used for boats and home windows too and it's so easy to apply. My bed is right next to a tall, wide window so every morning when the sun rises, it hits me directly in the face immediately waking me up. I thought of everything to try and stop the harsh glare from the sun from coming through my bedroom window. I considered painting the window black, covering it with tin foil and even putting up a big piece of card board but I decided they all would just look cheap and tacky. I know the obvious choice would be to change out my curtains for darker ones but that wasn't an option for me personally. My bedroom curtains were hand made by my great grandmother, they match my bedroom decor perfectly and they are absolutely beautiful. Plus it just comforts me to have them hanging there since she passed many years ago. I then had the idea of using the type of tint they use to darken automobile windows. But when I discovered Black Magic® Insta-Cling® window film and saw where it was for cars, boats and even windows in your home, I knew that's exactly what I needed. I quickly discovered that the Insta-Cling® is really nothing like the tint used for car windows. It's so much quicker and so much easier to apply than I ever thought possible. The way Insta-Cling® works is just brilliant! It holds instantly to windows by just using something as simple as static cling - no glue needed. It's important to first make sure your window(s) are super clean. You just clean them with a mix of warm water and mild soap ( I personally just used baby shampoo and it worked great ). Then you'll need to dry your windows but use something that won't leave lint behind like a micro-fiber towel. You can then either start unrolling the tint and pressing onto your window in the process, then just trim to size. Or for a stronger hold, you spray both the window and one side of the tint with plain water and then press the tint firmly against your window and use a razor blade, trimming the tint to size. Then just use a squeege to get out all the excess water and air bubbles for a super strong hold that will keep the tint up and in place until you decide to take it down. Once you get started you'll be amazed at how simple and quick the entire process is. And Insta-Cling® is easily removable. Unlike typical auto tint that you have to spend hours scraping off with a razor blade, Insta-Cling® just peels off in one whole piece - just grab a corner and watch it pull right off. And Insta-Cling® is reuseable too! Just roll it back up (never fold) and store in the box it came in until you're ready to use it again. It reminds me of those holiday window stickers or decals that you can use year after year. And even though this tint is beyond easy to apply, user friendly instructions are included. Another bonus of Insta-Cling® is that it protects from harmful UV rays, from hot temperatures outside and from glare caused by lights or the sun. It also comes in 3 different levels of tint with 5% being almost dark-out and 30% allowing for some natural light but really keeping the majority of the distracting glare down. I used the 20% which is a nice level of tint falling between the 5% and the 35% levels. I was extremely happy with the 20% for my bedroom. And I actually applied the tint and trimmed it to size all by myself! When I told my husband how easy it was to apply and he saw the finished results, he immediately took off to the store to pick up some for his truck, his boat and even our garage windows. I think with Insta-Cling® around and the ease of the application, the fact that it's simple to take off too and that it's reusable will make the typical auto tint a thing if the past. Insta-Cling® is truly an ingenious invention! I can't imagine using anything else for future window tinting purposes. Highly recommended!

    Black Magic Insta-Cling window film is very easy to install and cuts out 20% visible light transmission. There is no glue needed, press it on, holds instantly by static cling. It can be removed and reused. It can be used on car windows or in your home. Easy to trim to size needed. The roll of window film is 26 inch by 78 inch. One box will cover 2 standard sized rear side Windows or one full back window in your vehicle. It blocks 90% of UV Rays. I am using it on a West facing bedroom window to help with heat and glare.

    Our living room faces south, and in the summer the sun through the picture window is brutal. We've tried shades and curtains but they block the view and are unattractive. I didn't realize the perfect solution would be found in the automotive accessories aisle! Black Magic Insta-Cling window film performs exactly as advertised - static cling is easy to press on in the summer, simply peel off when not needed, roll it up and save to reuse again. The window film is available in three different visible light transmission (VLT) tints - 5% (darkest), 20% (medium) and 35% (light). The roll is generously sized at approximately 2 feet high and 6 feet wide, just cut to size according to your needs. Would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a non-permanent light filtration solution in either their home or automobile.

    The 20% visible light transmission film cuts and works easily. I put it on the top half of our dual pane windows in our sun room to block light as the sun sets. It has a warm, neutral appearance both the interior and exterior. The 99% UV barrier should protect furnishings from fading quickly. However, it is not recommended by the experts for dual-pane windows due to heat absorption. (There are less reflective, e.g. higher VLT films available). So if you decide on this darker film, at least don't install over the whole pane. I cut it cleanly with an exacto knife. Clean your window with mild liquid soap/water mixture (no ammonia or vinegar) and stick the film to the glass. It's easy to pull off and reposition or get bubbles out. The box will not do more than 2 small to medium windows. It's really made for car windows, where you'd need a couple boxes to do one car.

    This is so awesome. I use them on my windows inside My home.I live in Mississippi and that bright sun will Almost blind a person.when I use this product it tints My windows and blocks the sun out.And keeps my Home cooler. I can still see outside it just provides a nice shade. Its so easy to cut and apply.Just make sure your Windows are clean and dry.Just press and it Clings to the glass.

    Black Magic Inst-Cling Window tint worked perfect for my needs. I have a bedroom window that constantly gets hit with the sun and my room gets extra hot in winter and summer. Then sun always lightens my bright color sheets, which I hated. I can feel the difference of my room not getting so hot. It stays comfortable now with the tint up. I can't believe how easy it was to apply to my window. I can't see the difference yet if the film will help my fabrics not get lightened from the sun beaming in the window. I'll have to see over time. Love that it has a tint and I can still see out.
