Fudge brownies
Made with the 2 eggs. They were fabulous! Kids thought I bought them from a bakery!
Made with 3 eggs we did not care for them. It tasted like a a very dense cake.

What changed
OMG these were our go to brownies, and something has recently changed. Brownies are oily and have a chemical taste. Had two boxes cooked and went in the garbage. This time tried the batter before cooking and they have a chemical or plastic like taste. Very disappointed as we have another five boxes in the pantry. Was there a problem with a batch that should be recalled or is this a change that was intentional. Just horrible!

Then I looked at the box again and was like they changed something. Hopeful that they would taste good. No no no…Then tonight I was like maybe I measured something wrong so I bought some more! Nope same kind of batter! I'm so disappointed!! Please change them back!!Jenngander

The box size is exactly the same so I'm going tonuse the OLD recipe w 1/2 c oil vs the 2/3 c, which sounds disgusting anyway. THANK YOU EVERYONE for your reviews and caution!! Made the brownies with 2/3 cup oil and they never cooked except the edge. Oily/runny even after extra baking. I am known at work for my awesome brownies but had to throw them away. Pulled out my other 2 boxes because I thought I made an error and they have 2 different measurements for oil and water. So disappointed and have wasted time and money. With the standard answer I see for every complaint I am guessing I will get the same.Babs21

How exactly do you cut this up into 80 servings?! No normal person cuts this up into 80 servings. It's the way these companies get around giving buyers an accurate label as required by the FDA. They'll tell you how much fat and sugar each serving contains but play lose with the actual serving size.Dean

Something in it hardened to little white balls of ingredient (baking soda or flour? I dont know) that I had to use my sifter on and crush up. Even after this it left a grainy texture in the mix.Amanda

I use the original directions of 325' for 53 minutes. Do not beat, only mix till lumps disappear. I add 1 1/2 cups of chopped walnuts or pecans which adds lots more flavor. Everyone loves these. They're very moist and keep well. Always have requests for them.Linda

These are very cake like brownies, even when following the recipe and instructions exactly. I purchased two boxes so the second time around I made a few changes with no more success in getting them to be fudgy, my second batch was just as cake like as the first. I still think the brownies taste very good, I actually prefer cake like brownies, but others in my household really like the fudgy brownies so that's why I was trying to get them to be less cake like. Pictured, my second attempt, I made some substitutions like milk instead of the water, melted butter instead of the oil, and I added a little extra vanilla extract. They turned out very good, I even did a little caramel drizzle on top which really set them off. I would purchase this brand of brownie mix again, just knowing that they're not going to be super fudgy.jenniferh479
