Best cake mix you can buy.
I like the moist rich taste of this cake mix. I have used it for many years. I prefer Duncan Hines to Betty Crocker for it's chocolaty moistness. Everyone loves this when I make cupcakes or cake. I used to bake from scratch, but I decided to try this, and loved it so much I use it instead. What a hit with everyone!

    Fix all the mixes- Put them back the way they were
    I have been using Duncan Hines cake mixes for a long time. I make cake for a lot of people Got great reviews when I made them. I don't know what you have changed. But put it back the way it was!!! I also know that you have decreased the amount of mix in the box. What used to make a 9x13 cake doesn't do it anymore.

    I make this cake for pretty much every birthday occasion. Every single person that eats it says it's the best cake they've ever had. I love when they ask for the recipe! It's super moist and squishy. I prefer to use cream cheese frosting with it. So good!!!

    Bad experience and not as expected
    Despite a fluffy and moist texture, the were virtually flavorless and tasted nothing like chocolate. They also came out oddly shaped and slopped over the side,making it so i had to cut the tops off to ice them.

    So Disappointed in Results
    I have always used Duncan Hines Devil's Food Cake Mix, although I rarely make cakes. Nor do I claim to be a good baker - hence the use of the cake mix. But, for the past several times that I have used this product, things have not gone well. The taste and texture are way off, and I have ended up throwing away the finished cake. I have gone online to try to figure out what I did wrong, only to find that others are dissatisfied as well. Apparently, customers have been short changed with the amount of the mix being reduced overall, and some kind of change has been made to the formula. In addition, there are lists of ingredients that others have used to try to make the cake mix taste better or like it used to taste. Well, if I have to add all of these other ingredients, then I might as well make the cake from scratch. It would actually be easier. This means that I no longer need to purchase your product. As someone who grew up using this mix and loving the results, this is a huge disappointment. So, I guess I will be trying cake recipes from now on. As the quality of this product has drastically declined, this product is not a value or bargain purchase. Further, I will not recommend this product to others. I would add my plea to the others for you to return to the quality product that made this brand great, but apparently, that is not going to happen. So, another customer bites the dust.

    After Many Decades, DH Devil's Food is TERRIBLE!
    I echo the posts from a number of others--the DH Devil's Food Cake Mix is now horrendous. Last night, as I have done for many decades, I made it for Thanksgiving. I thought it looked odd right even while mixing it but right out of the oven, it looked flat and just plain different, so different even my husband asked what happened. Then, when I cut off the top for icing, I tasted it and could not believe how bland and not moist it is. So terrible! I have used this as my go-to forever, and I am in my 60s, and have recommended to others many times. However, I won't use this again in its current version because it truly stinks. PLEASE DH go back to the old formula! THAT version is a great cake.
