Performance not as advertized
This Barton portable Air Conditioner does not work as advertized. Shown as an 8000 BTU unit, cooling strength is barely half of that rating. It cannot cool the smallest of our rooms.

    Portable ac with bad window plate
    Didn't even get to use it because the window seal plate is either too big for some of my windows or too short. I don't know how to fix that. It's the crappiest design I've ever seen. If it doesn't fit your windows , Unless you're handy and have tools to cut it or add a peace of wood or something this isn't gonna work for you. I'm returning it

    Worth buying and you will stay cool on hot days.
    It's in the 90's daily. Nights just as hot. Worse next month. I have not been happier. I'm old, and not strong. Had to hire someone to install it for me. Now it works perfect, as the afternoon sun bares down on my windows. I'm cool and very comfortable.

    Good product
    I like the way it looks and the way it cools a room in minutes but the odd thing is every time it hits the temp I want it at the unit shuts off and I don't know what to do about it.

    Awesome Deal
    This little area Air-Conditioner is awesome. I live in the Pacific NorthWest, where temps don't require air-conditioner, most the population have fans during the summer months. Although a fan will suffice, it can get uncomfortable and muggy during the day's and nights. We just got hit by the recent Hot Wave up here in Seattle, temps in the hundreds, i ordered this unit one hot and miserable night. Shipping was Quick, i have to tell you, installation was a snap, had it up and running in minutes. Less then 10 mins, the temperature in the room dropped 3 degree, this little unit really puts out cold air. Temperature control works great, excellent buy for the price, you can't beat it. Would have given 5 stars, but the instruction Manual is awful.
