Gets the Job Done
The printer is great! I got it because I wanted a cheap printer that didn't break down or seem cheap and this fits the bill. It is pretty sleek and the LCD screen is cool. It doesn't print super fast but it gets the job done, for sure. It also comes with four ink cartridges to spare you the cost of having to buy some right away, all the color ink is there as well as black. I definitely recommend this printer if you simply want to print things out and don't require a fast or flashy printer.

Extremely high ink consumption
After 20ish printouts, the machine ran out of ink. Installed four new OEM ink cartridges, the machine self-checking consumes 20% of the ink. You can tell the embedded algorithm for detecting ink status is designed to enforce users to replace the cartridges more frequently. If you add up the cost for supplies, the machine is ridiculously expensive compared to other brands.

    So far OK.
Satisfied with it's overall performance for home occasional copies, haven't used it for photo printing yet Excellent price and value.Hope that the Ink cartridges usage should be the same as my Epson XP-640. Just junked the Epson 28 series ECO Tank printer I had for less than a year, that was just garbage!

    To slow. not good
    - It is super slow. one a print job is initiated, it thinks about it for a solid minute (matbe more) before it actually starts printing. - It runs through ink like crazy! - It doeant always scan. - You need to give yourself a solid 30 minutes to get a printjob out. this will account for thinking time, printing time, and troubleshooting time. - Pretty upsetting. its not cheap enough to be this bad.

Nice printer from a trusted brand.
The Epson XP-5100 is a really nice printer. The control panel and menus are very intuitive. Setup is easy but a little lengthy. The support software is available for download from Epson's website for those who don't have a CD/DVD drive available. This also assures you get the latest version of the software. The printer and software allows you to print over WiFi or by e-mailing files to the printer's own e-mail address. This address is assigned by Epson during setup, but you can change it if you want to. This printer is very quiet but it does need a stable place to sit or it will shake side to side as it prints. The print quality is really good and the copy colors are almost exactly like the original. I am pleased and recommend this printer.

Terrible printer. Avoid at any cost
Definitely the worst printer I've ever owned. From the beginning the color ink was intermittent at best. I had to clean print heads numerous times when I installed new color cartridges and would use half the ink just trying to test pages. Color will print sometimes but rarely. I had a difficult time and spent 2 hours with support to get the scan feature working. I'm going back to my used HP. This unit is garbage

Addicted to ink. Always out of ink.
This thing is a ink addict. I don't need to print things very often but everytime I needed to print something the thing was out of ink. And the thing wouldn't print unless I replaced ALL the ink cartridges. If I just replaced the black it still wouldn't work. The thing had to have all of them replaced. Then a few weeks later when I needed to print something? Yup, out of ink. When I hadn't even used the stupid thing!

    Epson printer
It was easy to set up to my wire less network. I just followed the instructions on the screen and everything went well and is working well. The print is pretty good , I was impressed. The price was excellent. It did not cost me much more than replacing the cartridges in my old Epson printer (CX4800) would have cost me, plus I had the 4800 for ages with no issues. I just wanted a wireless printer and one with a bottom feed tray in the front.

    Want read ink cartridges
When I got it it worked fine on ink cartridges that came with it, when I went to replace them with Epson brand 202 with chip, printer want recognize the cartridges, say empty, check cartridges, want let me do anything froze on no ink, Ive unplugged over night , same thing, its nonsense. Would be good printer if it would just read the ink cartridges, I dont understand it!! Its frustrating!

You get what you pay for!
I didn't like that you had to set up a different WiFi access with every device in order to connect the printer to the device (basically meaning you have to switch WiFi networks before you can send the print job to the printer). This is a huge inconvenience just to print a document. AirPrint would have eliminated this by simply detecting the printer via Bluetooth and sent the job. Because of this, I am returning it and paying extra money for the convenience, as well as better quality.
