A great battery companion
This Everstart Maxx battery charger and reconditioner works like a charm. It charges my 3 year old battery within minutes. This unit will also check car alternator extremelly quick and reconditions batteries very easily. It will also jumpstart most vehicles which I have yet to try. All results are easy to read with LED display that also displays if unit is connected to battery properly etc. Features are simple to use/access just by pressing the buttons on front. Unit is very lightweight and compact but does need to be plugged in. The jumper cables/power cord can simply be wrapped around unit for storage.

Haven't used it yet, sure it's fine functionally. This review is about the horrible user considerations. My Schumacher finally died after about 15 years. It had a compartment that all the cords would store in, even though it was really tight. I thought this would be similar, as it specifically says on the box "On Board AC Cord Storage" Dummy me should have realized it was oddly specific, JUST the AC cord. The DC cord, which is just as long and has the clips that get hooked on things easier, has no storage facility. Why even bother?

    Sometimes Timing is Everything
    The battery on my Tundra would not start the truck last week. It was 9 years old so I knew it was about to give out. I tried my old battery charger on it, but it wouldn't start it. So, I gave up and got a new $80 battery and installed it. Works great. However, the next day the EverStart Maxx Automatic Battery Charger I had ordered showed up on my porch. One day too late. I read the instructions manual and found out the EverStart Maxx can recondition batteries. In the recondition mode it sends a series of electric pulses to break up the crystalline form of lead sulfate and turn these chemicals into useful battery electrolytes. Just press the recondition button and the process starts. It takes 24 hours and the charger will stop automatically, or you can stop it anytime. Maybe, just maybe, my old battery could have been reconditioned and I would have saved $80. I'll never know. But I am glad to get the new charger. It is so much more technically advanced then my old charger, which I threw away. The EverStart Maxx has a LCD screen, it can check the condition of your battery and even check the condition of your alternator. I am very satisfied with this charger, so I would highly recommend it.

    Multi-Use Unit
    This is a nice, lightweight unit, for either jump starting, reconditioning, or charging your automotive batteries. It has several useful functions. You can use it to check the current charge of the battery, do a "float" charge, and also check your alternator function. I function tested all the buttons on it and it works like a charm. Very handy to have around because sooner or later, you're gonna have battery issues of some sort. Looking forward to putting it to full use in the future.

    Very useful charger/maintainer
    My daughter had her car off the road to work on when she got an opportunity to work out of state, so I have her car in the garage and need to maintain the battery. So I tried the Everstart charger/maintainer. It was easy to follow the directions (I am not an expert, just casual user) and found the various modes and indicators to be very useful. It really is automatic. I did not use the alternator check or the 40 amp jump start modes yet, but it is really nice to know that I have them available. It reads out the level of charging and adjusts itself as needed. I am very pleased. I would highly recommend.

    Excellent Multi Function Battery Charger
    I have used this a few times during the colder months to make sure my battery is fully charged when I start the car on early mornings. Because I drive short distances, the battery doesn't always get recharged by the alternator. So, by the end of the week, it needs to get recharged. This Everstart Maxx has the ability to recondition the battery as well, and allows you to check the alternator. It is well made and you can feel confident to let it charge overnight, as it will adjust to a small trickle charge when the battery is at 100%. Excellent build quality and warranty.

    Excellent charger/reconditioner
    I have used this to not only charge batteries and when I say batteries I mean I have 4 batteries I keep maintained for boat, truck, rv that sit a lot and this charger charges and then automatically starts them on float meaning it keeps them alive. The part of the charger that I used on each and every battery and noticed a load capability difference is the battery reconditioning and it proved it's worth on my old jeep battery as it gained about 50 cold cranking amps on testing it after I reconditioned it...I am sold on it. Luckily or unluckily I had to test the jump function on another truck of mine and even though it's only 40-50 amp boost it worked barely. The battery was internally shorted but it gave just enough to start it. I have an old 1960's charger that i use and it charges and that's it so this quality charger is taking over all around and with the reconditioning I think it will save me 100's of dollars on batteries. I never thought I would be excited about a battery charger but this one has convinced me that new tech can make a difference. If you maintain batteries like myself or have vehicles sitting around like I do them just get it. Believe me when I say the recondition works because it did and you save money

    Everstart MAXX BC40BE 15 Amp Automatic Battery Charger and Maintainer has several features not found on typical battery chargers. It has an easy to use alternator check. There's also a 40 amp engine start mode. The battery reconditioning feature is great for older batteries. Finally its' tender mode is great for long term storage. All in all a great tool at a fair price.

    All the home mechanic will need.
    This charger is ideal for your home garage. It is compact in size, light weight, and easy to store on a shelf until needed. It has features not commonly found on a charger of this size. Besides charging your battery and automatically switching to maintain mode when fully charged it has other very useful features. 40Amp engine start mode when you just can't wait for a full charge. This will get you going and let your vehicle complete the charge. It has a recondition feature where the charger removes the lead sulfate from your battery plates. this operation takes a while to perform, but can restore the performance of your battery. It has an Alternator check function . You can use this to check your alternator when it has a load on it or unloaded. It monitors the cables and if you hook them up backwards, it will warn you and not start the charge. The clamps are heavy and should last forever for home use.

    An amazing charger
    I can't tell you how many battery chargers I have tried over the last decade. I have a classic muscle car that sometimes sits for weeks or months at a time. Some chargers claim to be smart chargers but I am not so sure as I have had new batteries last less than a year while on a float charger. This charger is not just a float, it does it all and it claims to have a "REJUVENATE" function that I am eager to try. But so far I have only used it to charge and float. I was concerned at the high amperage when the charge 1st began as this one does not have an amp select but as the Battery charged the amps dropped and maintained a safe current for the battery. I am very pleased with this charger.
