Flowtron Electric Insect Killer, Half-Acre
Great unit, Great price, works the way it is described. I placed mine on a table on the porch. My wife goes out early morning to get the paper and is greeted by a billion flying insects and mosquito in particular. See pictures below.

Ive been excited for it to arrive and when we finally we got it out the box it was missing the Free octenol mosquito attractant carton. So disappointing.. I really wanted to break it in today but theres no way now - we have to wait again.

    Too brite and attracting beneficials from neighbor
    Attracted too many of neighbor's beneficials, praying mantis babies (below on the ground) and green lace wings up in it. The spacing of the grating is very wide. I would rather have a closer knit grating for mosquitoes.

    Liked that it was available. I have 3 of these to protect my dogs from mosquitos and flying insects. I don't like that I have to purchase bait to really effectively get rid of mosquitos.

    Works just like it should. From experience put 25 ft away from where you are going to be sitting. It will draw the bugs towards it.

    Killing mosquitoes!
    Yes this really does kill mosquitoes ! After our first night hanging this 25' from the back door, the electric grid and bucket below each has about 50 - 60 mosquitoes. (A couple of moths, but mostly skeeters.) The octenol lure really works for our area (Arkansas). This was money well spent. I hammered in a t-post where I want to hang it and am going to wire a shepherds hook to that to get the proper height of 6' and sturdiness. The house next door is overgrown and vacant so mosquitos make our backyard uncomfortable. We're taking it back and am going to sit outside and play with the dogs again.

    Great Flying Insect Killer
    I hung my Flowtron Insect Killer by the pool and it works very well zapping those annoying mosquitos & other flying insects. When I'm near the pool you can hear it doing its job!! It recommends placing it 25' away from human activity, but I needed to have it close to an electrical outlet. So, my choices were close to the house or close to the pool. So I chose to have it away from the house since I have the half acre size. I've only used it for a week and it work very well. So far, the only downside is the very short (approximately 7-8 in) cord to plug in. Fortunately, I have an extension cord timer that I plug it into. This way I can set how long I want it to stay on (dusk to dawn, 2 hrs, 4 hrs etc.). There isn't an "on" "off" switch so you would have to unplug or plug it in when needed (but not me since I have the timer!) Yes, I recommend it because it works killing the mosquitos & other flying insects, but you will need an extension cord (see my photo).

    Good Bug Zapper For The Money
    I bought this because we live on two rural acres in CT. The price was good and it was a Walmart rollback so I grabbed it. Really not much to it, just plus it in and it works. You will need an extension cord to use with it. Bugs an mosquitos were really nasty this year but since we got this thing the back patio it pretty much bug free. My son and my neighbors sit on the back patio sipping wine and every time this sucker cooks one the light dim, it lets a loud zap and we cheer it on as the sucker just fry away in there. Every once in a while a big one will get stuck in it and just plain roast for a while. We know it is one less bu that will be biting us. I am sure if you were an entomologist this might not be your favorite product but as long as we don't get bit I really don't care if I wipe out half a bug ecosystem.
