Nice laptop.
Nice laptop for travel. Light but big enough for what you need. Battery not bad. Gets about 3 hours on continues use. About 6 on normal use.

DO NOT BUY - CHEAP/CRACKS.
The casing for this laptop is beyond cheap. It squeaks whenever opening it AND NOW its cracked on both sides!! It's 3 months past warranty too so i cant even get it fixed!

    Nice machine, meets my needs perfectly
    This is a nice computer and I am enjoying using it for working at home and general computing. Processor is fast and all features are easy to use. I had no difficulty transferring info and data from my previous computer.

    Stops working after 90 day warranty expires!
    I almost gave this computer one star, however it did work pretty good for 3 months and 3 days. Almost immediately after the 90 day warranty expired, the computer fails to turn on. I called Gateway and went round and round with a “tech” that tried to help but came to the conclusion that I needed to contact the seller. I tried to get help from the seller and was told no-can-do because the warranty had expired. I would recommend folks not waste their money on this product. This was the computer my son uses for school. It has been very frustrating for us all and has set him back in his education. Computer manufacturers should not bail on their products only after 90 days.

    Sounds like a tin can
    This PC is bosting about having THX sound system. In reality it sounds like the sound comes from a tin can. Music sounds like I'm playing MIDI. Regret spending the money on it. Only positive is the fingerprint reader. Spend more if you want a better sounding system.

    this laptop is a BEAST AFTER upgrades were made! i wanted the black, but was told they only had blue, then the employee looked and found a black one! it was meant to be. the fingerprint scanner works okay, and it fairly accurate. the 8 gig that it comes with, does work, but the 1 single slot it has, was upgraded to 16gb of crucial memory for 30.00(which is a steal) then the500 gig drive was upgraded to a WD blue m 2 drive. The original drive was cloned to macrum software.( gree version is available, and Crucial has a migration software, but the drive has to be intialized. the one i used, didn't. the bottom of the laptop needs to be removed to install the new drive though. this laptop has Not one, but two M.2 slots. you can either repurpose the original drive to add storage to this laptop, or keep it as a back of the operating system i havent decided yet. the display is great with amazing colors. know how i know? Solitaire is so freaking addicting! and if anyone learns HOW TO install the New Drive, share and help a brother out! almost forgot. this laptop has a usb c, and it works SO well, im considering getting a new phone , but it would have to have one- Sidenote it is for data only, it doesnt charge , like a usb c wall adapter, though it will rapid charge using the original that came with my Samsung S7 phone, or the new Vap Mod, that ALSO came with a usb c port. this laptop is a wonderful laptop, and itll be the last one ill need!i7 the pictures are of the laptop and yhe second one is thr name of the freeware i used to migrate the original. True Image would work, and it a free if the Crucial drive that i purchased first, but was DOA, so i purchased this from the egg and an enclosure from egg and both were flawless!

    Specs on this computer are fantastic for the price. It's snappy, and from a performance perspective, I'm very pleased. Screen is better than I expected. Build quality of the laptop, keyboard, and track pad feel a little cheap, but I suppose there had to be a trade off to hit this price point. The webcam is not great. All things considered, I expected this from the reviews, and if this trade-off is acceptable for you, this is a great laptop with amazing value for what's under the hood.

    I do not like that it boots up without numlock being on, so always have to check to see if the keypad will work. Also it does not have a light to indicate if capslock is on or off, so that is a constant battle typing properly. The enter key is too small, it does not have enough ports, so have to add an attachment with extra ports at times. Also, I didn't pay attention to the fact it does not have a DVD drive, so had to purchase an external drive to be added when needed. I do like the color, and the touch of the keyboard. This is a replacement for a 17" laptop, so have had to make adjustment for size, but that is not the laptop's fault
