Damaged.
I received my order today and it not only didn't come with a packing slip but it also came very damaged. I went to do a return, but damaged isn't even an option so I guess I'll see how this turns out and how the second book in the series comes in the mail.

Very similar to the movie, except the reader doesn't exactly know what happened to Kevin's parents. The pictures are bright and colorful. I think the book was still a good addition to holiday reads, but the movie is just so funny.

    This is an incredibly ...
This is an incredibly cute illustrated adaptation of the classic Christmas movie. I love Smith's art style. This edition also does a good job of toning down the violence (I mean, would anyone really want to read to a kid about a man stepping on a nail while barefoot or having his head set on fire?!) and adding in some lessons like trying to call 911. I think they could have done a little more regarding Kevin's family, like mentioning that they forgot him, or showing them working hard to get home to him. As a huge fan of the movie, I'm so glad to have this book!

For the kids but a trip down Memory Lane for me
I was so excited to see this kid's book version of one of my favorite childhood movies. Some of the characters look very much resemble their movie versions, and some have noticeably changed (like Buzz, who's lost weight and seems less evil, more cheerful and childish). The narration is well done and I can see the attention to detail in the illustrations. Favorite scenes from the movie are easy to recognize. The book's pages are matte and very smooth. Perfect holiday book for the next generation. *Free sample provided in exchange for my review
