    If you want to keep ahead of payments--and, the provider doesn't allow direct payments online--this solution works nominally. No cards to lose or misplace--no messy scratching off. I'll likely ding my card here again. It works as a service, too. Of course, you won't get any bonus that a gift card reseller may offer....

    Multiple cards printed on one certificate.
    I wanted a $100 gift card but had to buy two $50 cards. However, the electronic receipt had both cards printed on the same certificate. Good thing they were going to the same person. If I wanted them to go to two different people, it would have been awkward.
