Good replacement after 16 years
My old Kenmore vacuum quit after 16 years of use. I have always used a canister vacuum and was happy to find another Kenmore vacuum to replace it. The suction can be adjusted on the handle of the new one and it is strong at the highest level, good for hard to clean spots. The handle can be extended to your preferred length, another nice feature. Overall, I am very happy with it.

Well made unit, works well.
This is a well made unit at a better price than I have seen elsewhere. We have two Labrador retrievers in our home that shed like crazy! This vacuum gets it all up, off hardwood floors and carpets. It also has a powered brush attachment to vacuum off your upholstered furniture as well as stairs. It works ok for that. Pet hair embeds itself in carpet. I start by putting on the fabric gloves that that have a nitrile coating on the palm, and rub the carpeted stair surface and corners. That helps get the pet hair to the top of your carpet, then vacuum it with the powered tool for stairs. This replaces a similar Kenmore Canister Vac bought 9 years ago that has nickel and dimed me to death replacing broken plastic parts. I do note that the design has taken one backwards step, the connector for the hose that attaches to the vacuum is not longer angled, to relieve stress on the hose when you pull it. It is now a straight up connector that will no doubt require me to be more careful when pulled the vac along to prevent damaging the expensive vacuum hose.

    Pet hair saver.
    Similar to the old one we had for 20 years. However, it seems a bit lighter making one wonder how long it will last. Bagged canister is a plus as is the pet attachment. Price vs durability could be questioned. Shipping was fast.

    upright vs canister vacuum
    After trying an upright vacuum, I went back to a canister because the ease of using the to clanig under furniture and not having push a heavy upright with each stroke . still need to of course pull vacuum behind you if moving beyond wand reach.

    I had a problem with the brush head cutting out intermittently when I first received the vacuum cleaner. I called customer support for help, and they sent me a new wand. This took care of the problem completely. The part arrived promptly and at no cost to me, so I am very happy with my purchase.

    Great start!
    Have only had a chance to use this twice, but it is great so far! I have been struggling along with an old vacuum and it is heavenly to use something that works well. It isn't lightweight, but I hope that means it is built to last. My last Kenmore served us well for about 20 years and I hope this one will be just as dependable.

    This is a heavy duty vacuum. I had a Kenmore cannister previously and this one is a bit larger and heavier. It works great but is heavier than I am used to. The telescoping handle is very convenient to use. The attachment for furniture works great on getting the cat hair off!

    Kenmore Yay... Dyson Boo!
    I had a Dyson and was extremely disappointed with it. It didn't clean that great and using the attachments required a engineering degree to use. It was always a struggle... But this Kenmore has been great. Powerful suction, easy to use attachments, plus I like that it has bags... I know the trend is for no bags but I think it's so much cleaner to dump a bag instead of cleaning out the non bag version. Seriously! I also am able to control the suction power so am able to vacuum throw rugs. Something I could not do with the Dyson... Plus I can clean up cat hair! Yay! I'm glad I bought this Kenmore...
