Great Sound
We have a nice TV (Samsung Curve) and have always thought the sound was pretty good coming from it. We had a sound bar with a previous TV, but it just stopped working before we got our current TV. We decided to get another sound bar to see if it would make any different. The LG sound bar makes a ton of difference. We were happily surprised when we plugged it in and got it going. My husband plays video games and he said he's happy to not have to wear his headphones all of the time because the sound is so crisp. Watching movies and sports also sound great on the sound bar. Very happy with the purchase. I received a discount on this product in exchange for an honest review.

There's Much Better Sound For The Same Money
The bass is non-existent with this sound bar, unlike previous LG sound bars with wired sub-woofers in the same price range that really rocked, I was so disappointed I returned it to the store the next day.

    Great sound bar
    I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion. This LG sound bar is great, connects bluetooth to my new LG TV and wireless subwoofer no wires. Easy set up though the instructions are minimal. This works perfectly with our LG TV. Once the settings are done to use the HDMI then it's one remote for everything. The sound is great with good bass from the wireless unit. Having the USB that allows phones to charge during use and handy to charge the Apple TV remote. Sounds much better than the TV sound, especially human voices. This product sounds absolutely amazing! It allows you to hear all the high and lows in great quality, and the subwoofer that it comes with has amazing range as well. I have an LG TV and only need one remote for both tv and sound bar. Excellent sound too. It's great and I'm very pleased with this purchase. A nice sound bar. Works great with my LG TV. Seamless integration between the two which was my goal. Had a different brand sound bar previously which in theory would integrate well but it never did.

    Amazing Audio Experience
    I reviewed the LG SLM5Y soundbar. Install and set up was a breeze just 3 cords and two are simply the power cords. The product includes a sub woofer, soundbar speaker, optical audio cord, and remote control as well as the hardware for a wall mounted option. I do think the instruction were too simplified at first I thought I needed to swap my TV for another one since it is older and didn't have a port for the optical cord but after a bit of troubleshooting I realized it needed to be plugged into my gaming console which on the instructions didn't even mention that as a possibility only mentioned TV. The soundbar has 4 preset equalizer modes and the option to customized for the best audio experience. No matter the media whether it music, movie, or gaming I was impressed and blown away by the crisp, clear, and beautiful audio produced by the LG SLM5Y soundbar.     Great sound quality and stylish
    Disclaimer: I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for an honest review. This soundbar was very easy to hook up with my Samsung TV. I have used it while watching movies, playing games, and streaming shows so far. The sound quality is amazing in my large living room. I really like how it turns off automatically after inactivity as I tend to fall asleep while watching TV at night. The bluetooth functionality works seamlessly across multiple devices. I was able to pair it with my phone, laptop, and iPad without any issues. The range is not quite as good, but I didn't notice much difference in the sound quality and that's what really matters. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem as powerful as advertised. My old Samsung soundbar which was 300 watts seems comparatively louder. Also, the bass fades out periodically when subwoofer is on. It may be trying to overcompensate when balancing noise.

    Excellent surround sound system
    I was looking forward to receiving the package and when it arrived it was spectacular! wonderful the installation was easy, with bluetooth . I connected the optical fiber of sound and the spectacular result was the bass sound, the brightness and super voices! I felt at the movies! recommended. I have used this brand for the first time in sound systems and was completely satisfied. I recommended them to my friends.

    Bigger Sound Than Expected!
    I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. This soundbar was super easy to unbox and get connected. The crisp, clear, full spectrum sound was surprising to hear coming from such a neat package. The subwoofer instantly paired with the soundbar and had a big sound for bass effects. I had zero compatibility issues with getting my existing TV to connect and even control the sound using my TV remote. Listening to the sound quality I couldn't believe that there weren't satellite speakers hidden somewhere in the room because of the fantastic surround experience! The settings were easy to access and tailor to my room's need.

    Great Sound Experience!
    The LG SKM5Y Sound bar was a great addition to my TV since I didn't have a sound bar at all. I liked having the subwoofer to provide more bass and it was very easy to set up! The only complaint I had was the sound was a little quiet and I had to turn up the volume quite a bit to get to a decent level. All in all a great sounds bar to add to your home entertainment system!

    Good Entry Level Soundbar
    I am happy with this product (LG SKM5Y Sound Bar) for the most part. It does provide good quality sound if you get the settings tweaked properly. I was impressed with the packaging when it arrived, and it was super easy to set up. Even included the optical audio cable, which is a nice touch. It's basically plug and play, even the subwoofer paired automatically. I had to play around with the settings to get it to sound good to my ears. It would have been nice if there were more settings to optimize the sound. There are basically 3 sound modes which are controlled through the remote, and they are all mutually exclusive as far as I can tell. "Bass Blast", "ASC" and "DTS V.X". There wasn't much information in the manual about these settings, I just found the one that sounded best and kept it there. The remote is nice and simple with clearly labeled buttons. I was able to link this soundbar to my universal remote so I can control everything with a single remote. It was easy to do. This is also a nice-looking unit, as shown in the pictures. Has a high quality look to it, and good fit and finish. As far as the sound goes (which is the whole point of a soundbar), I would say this unit provides good but not great sound. It does not provide a fully immersive home theater experience, but is much better than the built-in TV speakers. Maybe the optional rear speakers would help with the lack of surround sound experience. I feel like the subwoofer in particular is a little weak. It lacks the low-end punch of a beefier subwoofer. For regular TV watching the sound is good, although sometimes the music drowns out the dialog a little. There is also a quirk with the volume where it seems to vary quite a bit from channel to channel, or from different sources (TV vs. DVD vs. Roku, for example). I find myself having to adjust the volume quite a bit when switching channels or video sources. For movies and DVDs this unit really shines and you get more of the surround sound effect. In addition, this soundbar supports Bluetooth connectivity, so you can play music through this soundbar from a mobile phone. It would have been nice if Alexa or Google voice controls were built in. I think on the next model up those features are included. NOTE: I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

    Easy set up & Surround Sound
    The perfect companion to my brand new 65" UHD Nano LG TV! Very low profile. Easy to understand mode indicator lights. Wireless sub-woofer. All controllable with a wireless remote, YAY! Do yourself a big favor and add the optional rear speakers. Voila, home theater!
