High likelyhoods of defective units.
It really sucks to have to write a bad review because this phone otherwise would be an amazing deal.
So mine was a Black Friday deal. I'm starting to slowly suspect that any Straight Talk Black Friday phones are refurbs that are not being advertised as such - cause this is the second phone out of two I ever got that were Black Friday 'deals' and ended up being defective - in this case right out of the box.
Mine has ... SOMETHING wrong with the digitizer. There is a line along the left side that depending on .. as far as I know, the phone's mood, decides it's going to act like I'm constantly tapping it - and sometimes all I can do is restart the phone, and that only slightly alleviates the problem. This has caused it to be unusable to type (forget using A W Z, Q or anything on that side of a touch screen keyboard) - to calling people or even up and deleting contacts because the phone starts spazzing out at random.
I've tried several factory resets and restarts, nothing seems to work. Calling Straight Talk means I deal with a rep who wants me to send the phone back first (therefore going WITHOUT a phone and losing all my data etc to whoever gets it next) before sending a new one along. I kinda need some form of communication especially in light of the CoronaVirus situation.
I understand I got a defective phone, it's the fact that I can't seem to get help without dealing with a rep who wants me to wipe all my data AGAIN when I've already done that several times. I just want this phone (not the one I have, it's cleary a dud, a new one of the same model) in a working condition. I've got video and pictures of this thing (cause sometimes when it decides to go bonkers it activates the 'draw' features - and it has a lovely hot pink line right along the left side of the screen where the digitizer thinks it's been drawn on- in a broken but straight line. Screen shot of that issue attached!) - The fact that I can't seem to find this phone anymore in my local wal-marts makes me think that defective units are such a problem that they pulled the phone from shelves.
I wish I had some positives. My husband has the same model and he loves it - mine is a dud. I'd say buyer beware - and Straight Talk needs to simplify the process of reporting a defective device and getting a replacement without having to give up the device first. I wanna be able to transfer my data and settings to the new one first before I send the old one back, that's all.

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/09/2021I would not recommend this phone..I love the easy use of the Stylo 5. However it still does not have wifi calling. I live out in the country and 1 reason i bought this phone was because it was suppose to have WIFi calling. If you are looking for a well rounded phone. I do not recommend this one. In Addition my husband has the same phone and where he gets service i do not. It is aggravating. I will get calls and text and my phone wont even show that i have received them.Candice
