    Good quality ladder
    I am writing this review on the Louisville Ladder 6-Foot Aluminum Stepladder, 250-Pound Capacity. This is the perfect size ladder for our home. This will have many uses in our home. From painting to changing light bulbs and much more. This ladder is very durable and can hold up to 250 lbs. And it's aluminum, so it will never rust or tarnish and will last a lifetime. Unlike fiberglass ones that will eventually start to break down and crack with age. I highly recommend having one of these ladders in every home. This would also work great around the house outside or even on a job site. Louisville makes a great ladder!

    Perfect Ladder for Quick Projects
    I received my Louisville Ladder 6-Foot Aluminum Stepladder, 250-Pound Capacity, Type I just in time to hang the rest of the outside Christmas lights. I really like the Louisville Ladder 6-Foot Aluminum Stepladder, 250-Pound Capacity, Type I because it is lightweight easy to carry and is very sturdy. The Louisville Ladder 6-Foot Aluminum Stepladder, 250-Pound Capacity, Type I also has a perfect opening on the top to hold my cordless drill along with a couple of small pockets for screws and nails. The Louisville Ladder 6-Foot Aluminum Stepladder, 250-Pound Capacity, Type I unfolds and folds fairly easy but is a little stiff which is good so it does not pop open while you carry it. The Louisville Ladder 6-Foot Aluminum Stepladder, 250-Pound Capacity, Type I has the fold out shelf on the other side that has the round paint can holder, it would be nice if the ladder makers would start to include the square paint can indentation too. I do want to remind you when using the Louisville Ladder 6-Foot Aluminum Stepladder, 250-Pound Capacity, Type I safety first, make sure the ladder is level and on firm setting. I recommend the Louisville Ladder 6-Foot Aluminum Stepladder, 250-Pound Capacity, Type I.

    Dad's old stepladder on steroids
    I have had the same old stepladder for more than thirty years. I mean, a ladder is a ladder, right? What can they do to improve a stepladder? Using this Louisville 6 Foot stepladder has changed my mind completely. For starters, the ladder is significantly sturdier than my ancient ladder. Sure, some of that unsteadiness is doe to age and abuse, but the Louisville ladder is also designed with more reinforcements and with better materials. I suspect the new ladder will still be as sturdy 30 years from now as it is today. Better still is the design of the top step and work shelf. Each has a variety of slots created to hold tools of different sizes. The center holes (part of a recess to hold a can of paint) has an opening large enough to secure a drill. Having a spot to securely keep my drill handy was worth the price of the ladder all by itself. Over the years, I have lost two drills thanks to them taking a swan dive off of the work shelf on my old ladder. Overall, the clever and rugged design of the ladder makes this a real winner. If you have that historical artifact you call a ladder sitting in the garage, ditch it. You won't be sorry you did.

    Lousy quality control
    To start with, There was no damage to the carton, so this ladder was damaged before being shipped. I opened the box and saw the bottom step was buckled, Then, when I stood the ladder up and opened it, tge side braces were very hard to lock and the ladder stood crooked. A couple of rivets were ruff on the back side. The most I would climb this ladder would be about three steps. I was surprised they would ship a ladder like this.

    Well made and stable
    The Louisville Ladder 6-Foot Aluminum Stepladder, 250-Pound Capacity, Type I is surprisingly light. The thing with ladders is that if it is heavy, no one in the house wants to go get it to use, which is a problem when you're trying to reach for things high up because of safety issues. You might end up using an unstable chair or anything that can give you a bit of a boost. So if the ladder is light, people are more willing to get it out to use. I wanted something shorter than 6 foot because a 6 foot ladder seems so long, but I realized that I am just too short and with a 4 foot ladder, I just cannot reach things on top of my cabinets or to change a light bulb, (I have included a photo showing the distance from top of the ladder to the light.) so better to just get 1 ladder I can use for all purposes, rather than have several ladders to take up space. I have also specifically chosen the Louisville Ladder Type I because it can hold up to 250 pounds. If you buy the Type II, it holds up to 200 pounds, so be aware of that small detail. Every stepladder has grooved steps to offer traction which is another safety feature I like and this ladder offers molded ProTop with tool slots, auto tilt molded plastic pail shelf, larger spreader bracing, and larger back rail bracing. I really like that I am able to reach things high up and change my own light bulbs without waiting for someone taller to come help me.

    Functional occasional duty very light weight
    This ladder appears to be built for the occasional user, such as an apartment owner, or home handyman. I would not recommend it for construction work or every day use. It is limited to 250 pound loads. I weigh just over that and it was sturdy enough for me to feel comfortable climbing on it. The ladder sports a heavy plastic tray with indentations that will hold a paint can in place without the can sliding on the tray. There are also a multitude of holes on the top step and tray to store tools such as screwdrivers for easy retrieval when on the ladder. I was impressed by the light weight of this ladder and how sturdy it is. It is spec'd at 15 pounds, and is very light weight for a 6 foot step ladder. It has rubber coated and angled feet for a sturdy footing. The reason I say light duty is for the fact of the plastic top step and plastic tray. I suspect that with constant heavy usage the rivets in the plastic may loosen and make the ladder unsteady. However, I again stress it appears to be well built and for occasional home usage, for instance for hanging pictures or painting, this ladder seems very well adapted for apartment owners or first time buyers. I own a travel trailer and occasionally while traveling it is nice to have a 6 foot ladder to do exterior and roof maintenance while on the road. This ladder will travel with me in my trailer because it is so light yet it will do the job that I need it for.

    The Louisville 6 foot,aluminum stepladder is a very nice work aid.The ladder is user friendly,,light weight,and has special features which include, a shelf appears when opening the ladder.After opening the ladder,push down on the arms to lock them in place,(a safety feature to safely secure the ladder).That shelf also has cutouts and a 6 3/4 inch diameter indent for standard 1 gallon paint can,to allow for safety and convenience,(the can won't slide around).The cutouts allow for a variety of tools to have at your finger tips when needed. The top of the Louisville ladder ,also has cutouts for tool storage,yet another added convenience.The Louisville aluminum ladder is rated for a max.250 pound load,and other safety warnings affixed to the ladder to remind you of possible danger. The Louisville Type 1,Model W-2112-06S,6 Foot Aluminum Stepladder,250 Pound Capacity is sturdy,comfortable to stand on,user friendly,light weight and very functional.
