Perfect condition, even came early!
The order arrived with the mug in perfect condition, delivered in a nice spot where I told them to deliver, and even came way earlier than expected - it was supposed to arrive late into Tuesday, but instead arrived on Saturday at 12A.M.! Very well packaged as well.

Broken Mug
I played through some of the game, but it is great so far! No qualms there. Like others, I ordered specifically from Walmart for the promo mug. It came broken. The packaging for just the mug is paper thin, and the shipping box didn't have enough stuffing to prevent the mug from bouncing around in transit. I've been in contact with Walmart three times already, and have no resolution. The solution for me to resend them everything, and have them send me a new game and mug seems like a recipe for getting another broken mug?

    I received the product in time, but the box was damaged. It is a gift, but the box look like it had been opened a few times. Next time I will purchase in the store.

    Thanks Nintendo for great cover over the game
    The game is cool the mug looks cool but is on the small size Your shipper left my package in the rain ten feet from my covered door? and it was all wet inside and out but thanks to Nintendo for putting a great clear cover on it. The game was ok. Not to happy with the shipping :(

    Mug probably arrive as a puzzle
    Ir arrived fast the game is excellent, but the mug was broken, the mug wasn't even wrapped in bubble wrap, not even a fragile label in the box.

    Dreaded shipping
    5 stars for the game. 5 stars for the Mug design. -10 for Walmart being incompetent and mailing the mug in a loose box with no support. As others have said, if you order this it'll come in piece. If you can find in store, go that route instead

    Game AMAZING, mug SHATTERED!
    Great game and the game was in good shape but the mug's handle was in 4 pieces and I could obviously hear glass clinking inside the package before I opened it, couldn't the people responsible for the delivery hear it too? I tried to get Walmart to replace the mug but they sent a return label for the whole order including the game. Well I'm deep into the game and there's no way I'll send it back now. Why can't they just send me another mug? Well OK, I guess there's always Krazy Glue… Not too thrilled.

    Just buy the game, don't bother with promo deal.
    This review is specifically for the Metroid Dread pre-order promotion offered by Walmart that includes a Metroid Dread Samus Mug, and does not represent a review of the game itself as a piece of interactive software. Be advised that there is a non-negligible probability that your mug will arrive broken (as mine did, see attached photos) due to insufficient care in packaging (again, see attached photos). While Customer Service will, of course, offer to refund or exchange the package, they insist you return both the mug and game together and then they will resend both (with no additional assurance that the same damage won't recur). I would suggest you save yourself the stress and hassle, and simply buy the game on its own. Additionally, while I pre-ordered the game, it did not arrive on the date of release (Oct 09 by 8 PM) as promised, after sitting in a Fed-Ex distribution center one state over for over 36 hours. Searching around, it seems Fed-Ex is having some difficulty with delivering packages on time recently for various reasons that appear to be disproportionately isolated to that carrier. So, until/unless Walmart contracts with an alternative, I would suggest simply picking this game up in-store (and any others you were considering pre-ordering from Walmart in the future) if you don't want to be kept waiting.
