Great winter tire
Purchased these new for the 2013 winter season. I regularly use four studless winter tires for my front wheel drive cars but this was my first experience with Michelin tires. So far I am very pleased with the performance of the Xi3 tires in snowy and icy road conditions. I have also noticed that they exhibit great handling characteristics on dry roads with considerably less road noise compared to the other winter tire models I have used in the past. Can't comment yet on tread wear but I hope to get several solid seasons out of them.

Michelin X Ice Xi3
Purchase tires 4 days ago, have made several road trips approximately 460 miles, under the same road conditions on same route for 11,000 miles on other tires. My fuel mileage has dropped 4 miles per gallon on highway , and 6 miles per gallon around town. These Tires are not Green nor should be considered Energy efficient. Tire size was 26.2 inches on old tires and 26.3 inches in diameter Really disappointed , after having good results with defenders on a previous vehicle. BEWARE!

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/24/2022One of the best in the marketBought these tires a few years ago and I was extremely happy with the performance. Both on city and on mountain roads(not offroad). I thought most of the winter tires were similar until yesterday when I see the importance of a quality set of wheels. I would totally buy it again if I ever live in a cold city or get an SUV again. Hats off to Michelin. Using ps4's right now :)Bugra

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/26/2016Great tire!Soon after I had these tires installed we've had 2 snow storms in my area. I purposely drove this vehicle to 'test' the tires' performance and was amazed on how they handled the deep snow, with ice underneath. Of course you have to use common sence on speed, etc. I feel installing these tires was a very good investment.gravel

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/16/2014Glad I bought itAm pleased with sound level, cannot tell the difference between the snow tire and the Michelin Hydroedge which is my 3 season tire. The ride quality also feels the same. Have not been through the winter yet, but my previous X-ice tires did very well for 8 winters, and this tread looks similar.Unknown

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/02/2014Unbelievable Difference!I have a 2010 Mustang V-6 I have owned since spring of 2011.I live in a rural area between Rockford & Chicago,Ilinois. Simply put,I could not drive the Mustang in snow/ice conditions.I had to take my wifes Jeep Patriot AWD. The Mustang could not pull away from a stoplight and it took extremely long to stop it.Cornering was downright scary! Just FYI,I am a retired Taxi,CTA bus,Limo,18 wheel truck driver with a couple million miles driving experience with ZERO tickets and ZERO accidents. I put four of these tires on my 'stang and it feels like I am driving the Jeep! These tires give incredible results,a world of difference over "all-season" tires. These tires solve ALL traction problems and should be MANDATORY WINTER TIRES in all states that get snow!roylflush

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/27/2013Good traction on light snowSo far, they work great. Good traction on light snow. I haven't gone skiing yet so I don't know what they do when I go up north. I have a rear wheel drive car so winter traction is always a problem. These tires are a big help in mitigating that problem.mboth

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/27/2013So far, so good!We drive a Prius and finding tires to make it safe in harsh winter conditions was a priority. We've had snow, sleet and very icy conditions so far this winter and no problems! Even in icy conditions, our car has felt sure-footed! We also have a long and steep driveway and we came home before the drive was sanded and up we went without any trouble. As long as the snow isn't deep (the Prius doesn't have much clearance) the tires allow us to move right along! We're very happy with these tires!Michelle13teach

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/07/2013Solid PerformerThe Michelin X-Ice Xi3 handled the rough and tough North-West winter superbly. From freezing rain on my 90 mile round trip commute to work each day, to rough deep snow on unplowed roads, I drove with confidence knowing I would get to my destination. Thanks Michelin for such a great winter tire.Unknown
