Surprisingly impressed
I honestly dknt know why theres bad reviews. This thing is the best. I bought 4 packs (8radios) for my committee members and I. We used them on the mountain for 3 days in distance over than 2.5 miles (dont know about 18 though) and it was working perfectly. Just one of the radios went “battery low” and thats because its batteries were a cheap brand. Totally recommend it. It's exactly how it's described.

    The ring feature on these radios should have a louder volume. There is no way to raise the volume. and the radios do not transmit or receive any further than a Quarter of a mile. O.K. for the price.

    Uses batteries
    I didn't think of the battery usage, but I had to change them out every two days. I am about to order some rechargeable batteries and a charging jack for each phone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Not even 1 mile range
    We were so excited to get our new radios for our ranch and expected to reach only about 4 miles max on fairly flat land. It didn't even reach 1 mile when we lost the signal. We tried different channels and still not even a mile.
