Good system fun with minor flaws
I pre ordered my unit before launch day of July 25, 2017, and was really excited to get my unit as I've been a big DS/2DS fan for a number of years, but after having my launch unit, and transfering my data over from my original Red/Black 2DS I as well as a small number of others with launch units encountered what's known as the sleep function bug, causing the system to only show the power light, but not waking up, so I contacted Nintendo, and they sent me a shipping box, and they had me RMA my unit to their New York repair center, and they had to do a reset on my system causing me to lose 90+% of my transfered data which included streetpass data of over 300 Mii's, game saves, etc.. but after getting over that loss, and looking at it as a fresh start I've loved my system ever since playing games like Miitopia, Mario Kart 7(much better on larger screens, and same with most games)80's Overdrive(eshop only kind of like outrun, and the music shines on a headphone amp, or home theater system), etc.. but the NEW 2DS XL is not without its flaws such as the seriously low sound quality on both the internal speakers, and headphone output(I use the Boom Cloud 360 portable headphone amp to get around it, along with a pair of JLAB JBuds Pro earphones as they are easy to drive with this amp combo), the small stylus(you will want to source extras both original, and retractable), and at least with my hands the unit digs into the meat between the thumbs, and palms of my hands, making it hard to play for long periods, but a 2DS XL controller grip has been a lifesaver, and I pack it in my daily backpack whenever I take my 2DS with me on the go. Also a 3DS to USB cable is really nice thing to source as well since they are cheaper then an official car charger, and you can charge with any decent USB battery bank, or usb charger you have with at least a 1 amp 5 Volt output. lastly I would suggest picking up a 16GB Micro SD card to replace the stock 4GB for game saves, and what not. Also please have a look at a photo of my current NEW 2DS XL setup so you can get an idea of what to look for to kit your system out as well. Have fun gaming, no matter your age of 6 - 106. :-)

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/20/2021a nice giftThe size is nice. It is a bit bigger then original one I got so it is easy to see. But not too big. Is 100% backward compatible so I can play all of my old games and I really like that feature...rjcasper

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/04/2021Highly Recommend!!!Brand new device is great! Showed up nine days sooner than expected! If you are going to buy one, then buy it soon. I dont think there are many new ones left in stock. This is the last of the ds/3ds family. If you want a new one then do it now or else you might have to buy used!Logan

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/30/2020happy to get the 2dsCame as advertised, new Nintendo 2ds XL with Mario Cart pre installed and charger cord all included. If you want to play Animal crossing New Leaf on this system, I would recommend buying the "welcome amiibo" version (20$) otherwise you will have to figure out how to download it from the eshop and everything...(Connecting to wifi on this system is annoying. It takes a specific finicky connection.) I am happy with this purchase! Remember, these systems are now discontinued and unsupported.Margaret

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/29/2020A good handheld systemIt's a good game system. Bought for my husband and he loves it. The other thing is it does not have the 3d feature like the 3ds xl however considering I own the 3dsxl I never even use that feature on mine, it's fine. It plays 2 and 3ds games. So honestly unless you want the 3d screen not for you, if you are like us it not a problem, great system, hold charge, love it keep taking it from my husbandSmurf

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/09/2020A Great Hand HeldI enjoy this hand held and playing all these classic games that are now discounted is pretty great. Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, etc. A great gift for a young child or if you want to enter the gaming market with cheaper games compared to the switch. I play it just as much as my switch and the design is very ergonomic.Dominic
