AGM battery Prius
Arrived with well protected shipping wrap. Has a carry handle for easy installation. Had to slide the mounting bracket under the carry handle for installation, no big deal. Like its construction.

    Dropped this in my gen-2 Prius (2007). Easy install with a few small wrenches. The old battery still worked but I was getting lower 37 MPG no matter how I drove. I read this can be a problem with a weak old battery that won't charge up all the way so the prius combustion engine ends up being on more than usual to try and charge it up. After I installed this new Optima battery my first trip with the Prius was to tow a utility trailer with brush to the dump (probably 1000 lb or so). Yes it may sound a little sketchy with a Prius but others have done light-use towing without major problems. Anyway after installing the Optima the MPG immediately went up to 42 MPG - while towing the trailer! I couldn't believe it did so well with a load like that. I have not yet tested MPG unloaded in normal driving conditions, but guessing it will go back to a normal 45-47 MPG. This battery did the trick. By the way, I read that the SMART key feature can drain the auxiliary battery if the car sits with out being run regularly. This can be hard on the auxiliary battery and probably what happened with my old battery. So I have gotten into the habit of turning SMART off when I get home after going out for a drive.
