This is our second Oreck, love the ease in movement and light weight. It works well on our tile, wood floors and rugs.

s not work at all on soft/thick carpet
Does not sweep over soft carpet! It just sticks to carpet won't move! Does not work tehy way they claim, it doesn't move over carpet period. I bought it because claims it goes over soft/thick carpet easily, lie. So disappointed was so excited to get it and hoped it worked. So far no sweeper has.

    Oreck Light weight vacuum
    I love this vacuum, it is light weight and easy to use. It cleans well and I dont injure myself lugging it around the house unlike most other HEAVY vacuums. A vacuum does not need to weigh 50 lbs to clean well.

    Love Oreck
    I had an old Oreck and it died after many years. Love this vacuum. I have a bad back and it is lightweight and easy to use. It was so easy to assemble! Hope it lasts as long as my old one!

    Love this vacuum. It is light weight and has a very long cord. It's very easy to manuever. Not at all bulky as a lot of the vacuums are that have all the attachments. I have a canister type vacuum with all the attachments and it doesn't move around nearly as easy. I can alway use it if I have to do fans of crevices but for a day to day vacuuming this Oreck is much easier to grab and use. The only problem with Oreck vacuums is that they always put out an unpleasant smell when it's being used. It is the smell of the debris in the bag. I doesn't seem to linger but I hate that about Orecks. I think it filters well and it picks up very well on carpet, vinyl and hardwood without scratching my hardwood. Fits easily under most of my furniture as it lays very flat when you are trying to get under stuff. I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the smell.

    Excellent Vacuum
    Wow. $100 what a bargain. Sells for a lot more on Other websites. This is my 2nd one. Have two now for my two story house. Easy to use and maintain for this old lady. Highly recommend!!!

    Not Your Mother's Oreck But Ideal For Old Folks
    If you're over 80 this is the sweeper you want to have. Even if it only lasts two years just buy another one. It takes the least force to push it that I've ever seen. The build quality is not like old fashioned Orecks. Only the motor shroud is metal. All of the base is made of cheap brittle plastic. When I bought this the belt cover was popped off and it was extremely difficult to get back on. The handle is metal though. Extremes were taken to get this unit under 8 pounds and it shows. If you drop it down the stairs it could be all over. However it does sweep well and is very manueverable. It only has a 1 year warranty and it's made in CHINA. Just be aware you'll have to baby it like no sweeper you've ever used before.

    Love the Oreck Magnesium RS.
    Very easy to manuever. The swivel is so easy. I have a Dyson as well and the Oreck is as agile as the Dyson. Love the suction and I keep it on the low setting. Also, this is the 4th vacuum I have tried on my new Karastan Smartstrand carpet and it is the only vacuum that will move on this high pile carpet with ease.
