Windshield wipers in a bottle
Rain-X has been around a long time in various forms. I've used it before, but usually in pre-moistened wipes that cost a lot more than just buying it in the bottle. The wipes were prone to drying out. Along with the bottle, a re-usable pad was supplied to help apply the Rain-X to the window. And really, you can use it anywhere. This product makes water bead up better when it's raining or just in the morning when there's dew. It's not going to actually replace windshield wipers. But it does put some sort of slick coating on the window that causes water to just sort of roll off the glass rather than stick to it. Living in Florida, this is pretty helpful as we get a lot of rain and any help the windshield wipers can get is useful. There are other uses for Rain-X too other than just automotive. It can be used anywhere you might want water to not stick. In a bathroom, it can be applied to a mirror to help prevent quite so much fogging. As long as a shower door or surround is glass (not plastic), it can be used to help keep the glass from getting water spots. In my past experience, the effect lasts a couple of months and then it has to be re-applied.

    Tried and true product
    Living in an area that averages 50 inches of rain a year makes Rain-X an everyday garage staple in our home. The Rain-X Glass Water Repellent Original Treatment (12oz) is enough to take care of our two cars for quite a while. The application rag was also a nice addition to the kit that I received. Pros: Shipping and packaging were fine. Came with application cloth. Easy spray bottle for applying the product. Durable bottle and spray nozzle. Easy to understand and follow directions (see below). Instant results once properly applied to your windshield. Other practical usage tips, we will use on our swim googles when swimming. Also use this product on shower doors, easier than using a squeegee after every shower. Do a web search for other useful tips for this product. Cons: Directions are printed in very small print, and hard to read without glasses. Not a big deal just inconvenient. Overall Rain-X Glass Water Repellent is a tried and true automotive product that works as designed. I would recommend this product to anyone. Thank you

    Love This Product!
    I have used different Rain X products over the years and found this one to be the easiest one to apply. This one was much easier to buff off than the cream product, it also does not leave any residue if you accidentally get it on any trim. It works super well and the water absolutely does bead up and roll off as advertised. This comes in very handy when it is just a light mist/rain but not enough to use your wipers, it makes for much easier and less aggravating driving. One application also lasts for a good long time before you need to reapply. I also recommend using the Rain X wiper fluid along with this product.

    This rain x product really works! Once applied, the rain begins to bead up and then the water runs off the window or windshield. Just apply two coats, let the first coat dry and apply another coat and wipe until clear. That is all!! Just follow the directions and you won't have any problem. I remember this product back in the 80's and it worked great then and it works great now. The intermittent windshield wipers were not as common back in the 80's so it was really nice to have your windshield coated with rain x and not have to turn your windshield wipers on and off so often when it really wasn't hardly raining or just misting. And if your windshield wipers make noise or are annoying, you will appreciate rain x. It is nice having a windshield that you can see out of and not being distracted by your windshield wipers on occasion.

    I received a free shipment of Rain-X Glass Water Repellent Original Treatment, 12 oz. I have been a Rain X user for many years and I was glad to see a different type of bottle which makes it easier to apply. Rain X has been a mainstay in my auto supply bucket for many years. It works so well that I very seldom use my windshield wipers anymore. It also works as a deterrent for bugs, tar and all sorts of other road grime. It is also so easy to use, spray it on, wipe to cover all glass surfaces, let dry and buff off. It lasts for months at a time. It works great on mirrors and glass surfaces in the home. The twelve ounce size will go a long way too. I always recommend Rain X to my friends.

    Perfect water repellent for windshields
    The RainX glass water repellent is amazing for keeping water rolling off your windshield providing a clear window during the rain to keep visibility crystal clear. It applies water beading technology to dramatically enhance visibility. This product is super easy to use and the directions are easy to follow. It just requires you to spray this solution onto the windshield making sure the spout is facing away from your face. Once the windshield is covered with the RainX, you then take the dry cloth and apply pressure to the windshield and spread it in a circular motion. Definitely make sure the windshield is clean and thoroughly dry before treatment. Once you have applied the treatment and allow to dry you should see a slight haze appear. Then reapply RainX to ensure complete uniform coverage. Then take the dry cloth to wipe off or add a little water to rinse until crystal clear. It definitely makes driving in the rain a little easier being able to see without any obstructions from the rain as it beads right off providing a clear view.

    I used this on my car windshield after washing my car. A few days later I made a short trip to another town and ran through several rain showers. It really does keep your windshield free from rain in a shower. At normal highway speeds and a moderate shower you don't even need your wipers. I am sure that in a torrential downpour, it would help but wipers would be required. Follow the instructions and start with a perfectly clean windshield. Apply one coat, let dry to a haze, apply another coat, let it dry and then wipe off both coats. After wiping thoroughly, there is no visible trace of the product. But it is there ready to work. I have no idea yet how long it will last. But it only takes a small amount to treat. The bottle should last a long time.

    Works Great
    This Rain-X water repellent arrived in perfect timing. It has been raining for two days straight. I have not had a need to turn on my windshield wiper one time. For my vehicle. Once I reach a speed of around 30mph the rain droplets just fly right off my windshield. I have noticed. The harder it rains the faster the windshield clears of water. I also treated the driver and passenger side windows. One recommendation is, try to use this product when there is very low humidity to allow the product to haze up faster and make the removal easier. I had to wipe down the glass surfaces three to for times before the haze was completely removed, I cant wait to see what happens when or if we get some snow or ice to land on it. I can imagine that it will not stick and will slide off just like the rain does. I will definitely be getting more of this Rain-X when I run out of this bottle.

    5 stars! I highly recommend Rain-X products! I have been using Rain-X on all my vehicles for years. It's amazing to watch it work. Rain-X goes on so easy. Clean and dry your windows first. Spray a little Rain-X on a clean, soft rag. Wipe it on your windshield in a circular motion, similar to how you apply wax to your car. Let it dry. A haze will appear. You will be able to see if you missed any areas. If you did miss areas, apply Rain-X to the missed areas. Wipe off the haze with a clean, soft cloth. You're done! It's that simple. The product is as thin as water but covers a large area with a small amount. Rain-X bottles always last me for years. The first time you see what Rain-X does you'll never forget it. If it hasn't rained in a while since you applied Rain-X to your windshield you may forget you applied it. It's invisible. Then when the rain starts you'll see it. The drops of rain on a Rain-X treated windshield are quickly pushed up your windshield by the wind then disappear over your roof or off the sides of the windshield. You'll be tempted to turn on your wipers at first, from habit, but you'll soon discover that there is no need. Only in the most severe, sky opening up, down pouring biblical deluge have I ever had to turn on my wipers in a vehicle treated with Rain-X. When it rains that heavy you should pull over and wait for it to pass anyway. Rain-X is a wonderful product. I highly highly highly recommend Rain-X!
